It was slightly more than a week ago when we talked about how LG has unveiled their LG Smart Bulb, but that is not the only rabbit in LG’s hat to be pulled out. In fact, over at the Light+Building 2014 trade show, it seems as though LG has way more “tricks” up their sleeves for the masses, where among the include aforementioned LG Smart Lamp (Smart Bulb) as well as LG OLED Table Lamp.

LG’s “self-healing” flexible smartphone, the G Flex, came with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean pre-installed. Its been quite a long wait for owners of this smartphone, given that late last year Google released Android 4.4 KitKat and its taken a lot of time for the update to reach the G Flex. Today, finally, the LG G Flex Android 4.4 update has been released. While it doesn’t bring all of the features it was rumored to, it will definitely breathe a new life into the smartphone.

The LG G2 mini was first revealed to the world at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain, sometime at the tail end of February, where this particular device came with a decent design as well as premium UX features which can be found on its higher end sibling, which is the LG G2. Needless to say, the “mini” part of the LG G2 mini would signal all of the goodness of the then flagship device crammed into a smaller form factor.

If you happen to own the LG Optimus G smartphone and was thinking of getting a newer device in order to keep up with the times, perhaps you might want to hold your horses for the moment. It seems that this relatively old handset still has some life left in its proverbial legs, as the LG Optimus G is all set to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update some time later this summer, with this information apparently confirmed by the folks over at LG themselves.

Back in the middle of 2013, LG unveiled the LG Optimus Zone which was an entry-level handset. The design of the phone featured some pretty sharp angles but thanks to a recent leak by the ever-reliable @evleaks, we now know that LG has a new handset in the works called the LG Optimus Zone 2, which presumably is the follow up to last year’s handset.
Based on the leaked image, assuming it’s real, features a more curved design which seems to be in line with LG’s design language as of late. It also sports a Verizon logo on the top left corner of the device, indicating that the phone will most likely arrive on Verizon’s network in the near future. (more…)

We did share with you on how LG intends to introduce their special KnockOn feature to the L Series II range of smartphones later this month, and here we are with the South Korean consumer electronics giant announcing that the Knock Code feature will also be made available in earlier LG smartphone models through a firmware update beginning from this April. Basically, those who own the LG G2 and LG G Flex in select countries will have the privilege of enjoying the Knock Code update that enables users to access their smartphones via a customized “knock” pattern, instead of the usual unlocking methods.

They say that good things come to those who wait, and if you have been patient enough, you would have realized that the LG Optimus F3, although not a high end smartphone and having been announced by T-Mobile last year, is a decent performer for those who are on the market for an entry level Android-powered device. Just last week, Google announced Android Wear which is essentially a version of Android that has been designed for wearable technology in mind, like smartwatches. Along with the announcement of the platform, Google also unveiled some partners that would be taking advantage of Android Wear, such as LG with the G Watch and Motorola with the Moto 360.
Now back then LG unveiled a teaser photo which was kind of shadowy and didn’t really give us a good look at the device in its entirety, and perhaps looking to change that, LG has since uploaded a photo onto its Facebook page where they show off the LG G Watch in a clearer photo. (more…)
