LG G2 Flies To The Edge Of Space In New Promotional Video

LG is spending a lot of time and money on promoting its brand new smartphone, the LG G2. Just yesterday the company released a four minute video which details the device’s exhaustive list of features. LG has now uploaded a new promotional video in which it sends the G2 to the edge of space. The video’s purpose is to show off how the G2′s 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization performs. The device has brought back some stunning images from its trip to the edge of space.

The LG team on the ground attaches a G2 to a balloon and let it fly. It first reaches the troposphere and then makes its way to the stratosphere. One can see the edge of space, and the blue halo that surrounds Earth as well as the vast space beyond. It then makes its descent to the ground where LG’s team is waiting for it. The device remains fully functional even after braving sub-zero temperatures. LG has included the raw footage captured by the G2 during its trip in the promotional video. It makes for an interesting watch. The U.S. release date of LG G2 hasn’t been announced as yet, both Verizon and AT&T are rumored to release it on the 12th and 13th of next month respectively.

LG G2 Features Showed Off In New Video

LG today posted a four minute video on YouTube detailing the exhaustive feature list of its latest Android flagship smartphone, the LG G2. The device has already been officially unveiled, though it has not been confirmed as yet when it will be released in the U.S. As per recent rumors, Verizon will release the device on September 12th and AT&T will follow up with its own release the very next day. Nothing has been confirmed though, but that doesn’t mean LG will stop touting the features of its new smartphone. This four minute video shows us what the LG G2 is capable of.

It is imperative for LG to generate as much consumer interest as it possibly can ahead of the release next month. Early next month a handful of new devices are going to be released, which are going to be in direct competition with the G2. These devices include Samsung Galaxy Note 3, HTC One Max and the Sony Xperia Z1. The G2 is well equipped to give them all a run for their money. Apart from its 5.2 inch 1080p HD IPS+ display, the device is powered by a 2.2GHz quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, a 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, a 3,000 mAh battery and more.

LG G2 Verizon And AT&T Release Expected Next Month

LG G2 Verizon And AT&T Release Expected Next Month

Rumor has it that LG will release its latest Android flagship smartphone, the G2, on the two largest U.S. carriers next month. Android Central claims to have heard that Verizon LG G2 will be released on September 12th, AT&T will release the device on September 13th. AT&T is said to open pre-orders for the device on September 3rd, customers who place pre-orders will reportedly receive a free folio case for the LG G2. Sprint and T-Mobile will also be offering the device, but their release dates haven’t been rumored yet.

LG has already begun selling its latest flagship in Korea, its home country. Customers in the UK can place their pre-orders, for them and for customers throughout Europe the LG G2 will reportedly launch in the end of September. This information should be taken with a grain of salt, since the aforementioned carriers have yet to officially announce the release date for this device. Verizon recently published its sign-up page for the LG G2, the page didn’t reveal much about the release date, but did tout the exclusive Qi wireless charging capability. We’ll only know the LG G2 U.S. release timeframe for sure once the carriers make an official announcement, lets hope that they do that soon.

LG G2 Ad Spotted In Manchester United Soccer Match

LG G2 Ad Spotted In Manchester United Soccer MatchThe LG G2 is the latest flagship from the South Korean consumer electronics giant, and we have heard some interesting stories about its launch in recent times, in addition to a Verizon signup page that reveals exclusive Qi wireless charging to boot. Well, no matter how famous a company is, there is nothing quite like the power of advertising to push out its latest products, and that is exactly what LG has done with the LG G2, in the opening match between Manchester United and Swansea City, with the Red Devils running away as victors, of course.

In fact, LG actually draped the stadium with banners of the handset, and to keep up with the 21st century tide of things, the digital billboards on the pitch also played ads for the LG G2 that is said to come with a special kind of design for a smartphone of its size, boasting volume as well as power buttons at the back of the handset. Do you think that the LG G2 is going to be able to take on the other Android-powered flagships that are in the market such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, the HTC One, Sony Xperia Z, and the Motorola DROID Ultra among others?

Nexus 5 aimed at LG: G2-inspired, near-borderless display

The next device in line for Google’s Nexus smartphone lineup would (once again) appear to belong to LG if Vietnam-based media reports are correct. Straight from author Cuhip of Tinhte, the same fellow who brought on the X Phone tour video leak well before the rest of the world earlier this year, comes word of […]

LG Confirms Wireless Charging Accessory For G2

LG Confirms Wireless Charging Accessory For G2

Not too long ago LG announced the G2 smartphone, its Snapdragon 800 processor touting behemoth. The device will be carried by major networks in the U.S., however Verizon’s variant has an exclusive feature. It was revealed yesterday when Verizon LG G2 signup page went live that the Big Red’s variant will have Qi wireless charging built in. A LG spokesperson has confirmed to Pocketlint that a separate wireless charging accessory for the G2 will be released, which will be compatible with the smartphone’s European version.

However LG hasn’t provided specific information about this wireless charging accessory. They’ve not revealed what it will be called, or how much it will be sold for, and most importantly, when it will become available. It is presumed that this accessory will support Qi wireless charging, but LG hasn’t confirmed this as yet. Qi is designed by Wireless Power Consortium and aims to become the global standard for inductive, or what is commonly referred to as wireless, charging. Big name manufacturers such as Sony, Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, HTC, Huawei and Asus are already on board. LG announced the G2 on August 7th, the smartphone has a 5.2 inch full HD IPS+ display, a 13 megapixel rear and a 2.1 megapixel front camera, among other features. In the coming months, the smartphone is expected to be available from more than 100 carriers around the globe.

Verizon LG G2 Signup Page Reveals Exclusive Qi Wireless Charging

Verizon LG G2 Signup Page Reveals Exclusive Qi Wireless Charging

A few days ago LG announced the G2, its latest Snapdragon 800 processor touting Android flagship smartphone. Verizon is one of the carriers that will be offering the device in the U.S. It appears that the carrier is having some sort of a “signup page week,” because in the last two days similar pages have gone live for the Moto X and the HTC One. Today, the signup page for Verizon LG G2 was put up online. Prospective customers can submit their email so that Verizon can notify them when the device becomes available.

One thing that these pages reveal is the carrier branding on the smartphone. In this particular case, there’s a Verizon logo upfront and the 4G LTE and Verizon logos have been plastered on the back, just below the volume controls. Yes, the LG G2 has its volume controls on the back, something you don’t see in most devices. The camera border appears to be bigger than the international version shown at launch and so do the volume buttons, other than that there’s nothing radically different. Verizon LG G2 does have an exclusive feature, something that the signup page revealed. Qi wireless charging is built into this particular model, meaning that its a Verizon exclusive feature.

LG G Pad specifications tip 8.3-inch Full HD Plus beast

This week we’ve had our fair share of Android surprises in the world of future LG releases, coming up sharp with the LG G Pad, a device teased last month in a trademark filing and appearing here in a full specifications leak. LG G2 Launch Event In Korea Ends In Disaster

It was last week when LG officially announced their latest smartphone, the LG G2. Given that the G2 will be the company’s flagship smartphone for the moment, naturally LG is doing everything they can to get the word about the device and has probably spent a lot of money on marketing and promotions, but it seems that over in South Korea, LG’s marketing stunt might have actually shed negative light onto the company and its product, rather than casting them in a positive light.

Basically what LG did was that the released a bunch of balloons into the sky with the balloons containing vouchers which would give winners a free handset. Since we can’t fly, the next best thing would be to shoot these balloons down, which some in the crowd attempted to do with BB guns, but unfortunately this resulted in innocent bystanders getting shot by accident rather than the balloons. LG has since apologized for the fiasco and will cover the cost of medical fees, with future events to be cancelled. South Korean news outlets have posted videos of the event, so if you’d like to see what went down, check out the video above.
