Tomb Raider Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller Priced

Tomb Raider Limited Edition Xbox 360 Controller Priced

Tomb Raider fans are eagerly awaiting for March 5th when Tomb Raider Rebooted will be launched. Alongside the game, fans can also get their hands on limited edition Xbox 360 controllers. Available for pre-orders from the Xbox website and priced at $59.99, the blood-red controller was first revealed at the Consumer Trade Show 2013 in Las Vegas. Microsoft’s Major Nelson had said, “Developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title.”

The controller also features a customizable D-pad which can be changed to a disc from the standard plus and has a range of 30 feet so you can move around as much as Lara does in the game. The controller also comes with a download code for an exclusive Tomb Raider Multiplayer character Scavenger Archer. This should prove to be one a good addition to any collector of Tomb Raider items.

God of War: Ascension bundle comes with Garnet Red PS3

What is your first memory or experience with the God of War series? I don’t suppose it is a “love it or hate it” case with this kind of hack-and-slash title, and there is a visceral sense about it, too. Having said that, I did enjoy the game a whole lot, and my personal favorite is the one on the PSP – don’t ask me why, I am just rather partial to gaming on the mobile front more than using a home video game console. Having said that, fans of the God of War franchise will be pleased to hear that God of War: Ascension’s arrival at stores this coming March 12th will be commemorated with the introduction of a limited edition God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle just in case you have not yet, for some strange reason or another, picked up a PS3 console after all these years.

If you happen to have $349 to spare, then you would be pleased to hear that this is how much the God of War: Ascension limited edition bundle will cost you. For starters, there will be a 500GB Garnet Red PlayStation 3 system packed inside, coupled with the whole God of War storyline that will include the new God of War: Ascension and of course, the God of War Saga (which comprises of all five of the previous games from the franchise). The good news does not end there as well though, as you will be on the receiving end of a 30-day PlayStation Plus trial membership.

The complete God of War game collection will definitely roll back the years for some of you fans out there, as you can relive your favorite series moments with the God of War Saga, which comprises of God of War, God of War II, God of War III, and God of War: Origins Collection, which consists of God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta.

Ken Levine Shows off Bioshock Infinite’s Ultimate Songbird Figure

If you’re like me, you’re pretty disappointed that Bioshock Infinite was delayed until February 2013. But I suppose I’d rather have a rock-solid game than one filled with bugs and rushed to market. One thing to look forward to when the game finally comes out is the awesome looking Ultimate Songbird Edition.

bioshock infinite songbird

The highlight of this massive $150 collectors edition of the game is a highly-detailed 9.75″ statue of the Songbird, a key character in the game – Elizabeth’s creepy bird-like protector feared by the residents of Columbia. In a video clip released today, the game’s creator Ken Levine gives us an up-close and personal look this beautiful hand-painted statue, along with the cool retro packaging it comes in.

In addition to the statue, the Ultimate Songbird Edition ships with a 64-page art book, a resin Handyman figure for playing the upcoming Bioshock Infinite board game, a cool lithograph promoting “Devil’s Kiss”, a murder of crows keychain and a copy of the game’s digital soundtrack. It also includes several bonus power-ups, costumes and PS3 and PC users get downloadable themes as well.

You can pre-order the Bioshock Infinite Ultimate Songbird Edition over on Amazon for $149.96(USD), and it ships on February 26, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Apple’s Jony Ive tapped to design one-off Leica M for charity auction

In case the newly announced Leica M simply isn’t astronomically expensive enough — or charity-minded enough, as it were — Apple’s senior VP of design Jony Ive is working with the German photography company on a one-off version set to be auctioned for charity. Given the M’s baseline price of €6,200 (about $8,100), we’re guessing the one-of-a-kind version designed by one of the world’s most influential designers is going to fetch a pretty penny at auction. Like, “sell off one of your extra homes” kind of money. Leica head Dr. Andreas Kaufmann announced the collaboration last night during a Leica event at Photokina — an event that Ive himself was reportedly set to appear at — where he said that the auction will be done with U2 frontman (and longtime friend of Ive) Bono Vox. The latest Leica M debuts in early 2013, though we won’t see the fruits of Ive and Leica’s collaboration for some time as the camera’s design has yet to begin.

Leica X2 gets à la carte, Paul Smith editions to help you stand out from plebeian photographers (update: hands-on)

Leica X2 gets la carte, Paul Smith editions to help you stand out from plebeian photographers update handson

Let’s say you’ve been considering a Leica X2 for the mix of a big APS-C sensor and retro styling, but a $1,995, fixed-range compact camera just isn’t exclusive enough. Leica has you covered with two extra-rare editions that rise above the pack. Provided you don’t mind someone else designing for you, the Edition Paul Smith spices things up with a mix of black, green and orange that reflects the UK fashion designer’s love of stripes and wilder colors. Is the small 1,500-unit batch of Paul Smith cameras still too common? There’s now an à la carte X2 option to limit the production run to exactly one. After picking from black, silver or new titanium colors for the main body, you can choose from a set of leather trim colors and get custom engraving to hedge against the unlikely event that anyone confuses your X2 with someone else’s. Prices aren’t immediately available for the October launches of both cameras. Not that it matters much — if you’re willing to even consider a special edition Leica, you already know that it’s within your price range.

Zach Honig contributed to this report.

HTC shows off Cushnie et Ochs edition One X ahead of New York Fashion Week (update: not for sale!)

Image

In the last HTC Frequencies media summit, the company didn’t shy away from the possibility of exploring different color options for its flagship devices, but never did we expect it to come out with such a simple yet eye-catching combination of black and white on the same body. Courtesy of Frequencies II today, what we’re looking at here is an HTC One X (on AT&T) with a bit of love from fashion label Cushnie et Ochs: the design simply consists of a two-part chassis instead of a unibody shell, so we could just about feel the seam along the center of the backside. Other than that, this is a surprisingly attractive device, especially with the preloaded wallpaper that matches the shell colors — we like the effect of it moving along horizontally as we swipe between home screens. There’s no word yet on availability, but keen fashionists should see this pop up at Milk Studios during the New York Fashion Week in a few days.

Update: Bad news, folks: we’ve just had confirmation from HTC that this funky phone will not be available for purchase. Only certain celebrities will receive one as a gift.
