Mad Catz Strike M Bluetooth Keyboard Sports NFC Capability As Well

Mad Catz Strike M Bluetooth Keyboard Sports NFC Capability As WellNow if you are in the market for a spanking new keyboard, but have absolutely no idea as to which particular brand to purchase, perhaps Mad Catz might have a solution for you. Their new Strike M Bluetooth keyboard could very well be a striking new addition to your desk, as it comes with NFC capability to boot, accompanying the likes of dedicated media keys and backlighting, all crammed into a portable, small-scale keyboard form factor. This will be no working keyboard, but rather, it will be part of its range of GameSmart gaming peripherals. The Strike M will resemble the design of earlier keyboards in the same range, where it is scaled down to a device with a tablet-sized footprint, while introducing Bluetooth connectivity that will enable it to be used with a range of modern day smartphones, tablets, or micro consoles such as their very own MOJO.

The Mad Catz Strike M Bluetooth keyboard will run on a rechargeable lithium polymer battery, where it can also make use of NFC connectivity to pair itself with a host device. As mentioned earlier, it will also boast of backlit micro Pulse scissor keys as well as what they call an “optical finger navigation” mouse sensor. You will be able to pick this puppy up in three different colors, while pricing details remain to be known. It ought to be available sometime later in the holiday season.

Mad Catz MOJO Could Run On NVIDIA’s GameStream Technology

Mad Catz MOJO Could Run On NVIDIA’s GameStream TechnologyIn early October this year, the specifications and pricing details of the Mad Catz MOJO were revealed, and we also did hear about a potential PC streaming feature which should arrive in due time shortly after launch. Well, apparently, it might actually be powered by NVIDIA’s GameStream technology.

According to Alex Verrey, Mad Catz’ Global PR Director, “We’re talking to NVIDIA and we hope to enable GameStream soon after the launch of the console.” At this point in time, the technology remains available exclusively on NVIDIA’s very own Shield handheld. Should the Mad Catz deal happen to work out fine and dandy, then it would have the honor of being the first appearance of GameStream on a third party device, which is something worth thinking about. Verrey did stop short of confirming the partnership, but they did suggest that the company could also be on the lookout for another platforms. After all, he also did say, “We’re also very excited for Steam and we look at all these opportunities with interest.”

What do you think of it all? What happens when Mad Catz MOJO would run on NVIDIA’s GameStream technology, will it be able to sell a whole lot more consoles then?

Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E. M Mobile Gaming Keyboard is T.I.N.Y.

Mad Catz recently announced the littlest member of its S.T.R.I.K.E. gaming keyboards. The S.T.R.I.K.E. M is a wireless keyboard designed to be used with mobile devices and the company’s M.O.J.O. Android micro-console. Mad Catz sure loves periods.

The keyboard connects to devices using either NFC or Bluetooth. It has a couple of features that should set it apart from other mobile keyboards. First is the ability to save multiple macro commands, and second is its Optical Finger Navigation (OFN) mouse sensor, i.e. a tiny trackpad.  I’m not entirely sure, but I think the trackpad is that tiny patch on the upper right of the keyboard that’s flanked by left- and right-click buttons. Sorry lefties.

Mad Catz didn’t provide the dimensions of the keyboard, but Kotaku has a shot of the keyboard in someone’s hand. Not as helpful as actual measurements – it may have been a gnome holding it in the photo – but it’s better than nothing.

The keyboard also has controls for brightness, volume and media playback. It also has backlighting and a rechargeable internal battery, but no word on how long it will last per charge.

Another detail that Mad Catz failed to mention is the price of the S.T.R.I.K.E. M, although they did say it would be available this holiday season.

Are there really mobile gamers that need or want a keyboard? Mad Catz certainly thinks so. Besides, it could just be gearing up for its Android micro-console, which will eventually be able to stream games from a PC to the TV or monitor that it’s hooked up to. I think the most important question here is how cramped the keys are. The keyboard itself doesn’t seem to be that small, but its odd shape and the strange use of space on its perimeter are what forced the keys to be small. I’m also really interested in seeing how that tiny trackpad holds up in real world use.

Mad Catz MOJO Android console to offer PC game streaming to TV

We got our hands on Mad Catz’ MOJO Android box this past summer, giving the small device a run through. Earlier this week, both a release date and pricing for the device were announced, with the Android box being slated for release in December a bit before the holidays. Following this, now word has surfaced […]

M.O.J.O. Android Gaming Console Supports PC Streaming

M.O.J.O. Android Gaming Console Supports PC StreamingIt was just a few days ago this week when we brought you the final hardware specifications list for the M.O.J.O. Android-powered gaming console from Mad Catz, in addition to the final sticker price of $249.99 a pop that will definitely give some competition to the likes of the NVIDIA Shield and OUYA. Well, not all details were revealed back then, as we have discovered that the M.O.J.O. Android gaming console will support the ability for users to stream PC games directly to their TVs. This particular ability can be “turned on”, so to speak, using a software update that should arrive not too long after launch. Considering the M.O.J.O. Android gaming console will be available in limited quantities from December 10th onward, we hope that this software update will arrive before the 2013 calendar is binned and the whole world ushers in 2014.

What do you think of the M.O.J.O. Android gaming console? Do you think hardware like these will be able to create a strong “third pillar” of gaming devices in the market, offering something more casual for gamers who might want something less mainstream compared to the established players such as the upcoming Sony PS4, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the already available Wii U from Nintendo.

Mad Catz M.O.J.O Specs And Prices Revealed

Mad Catz M.O.J.O Specs And Prices Revealed

Back in June Mad Catz unveiled yet another console called the M.O.J.O. This “Micro Console” runs on Android and has been specially configured to harness the maximum gaming power possible from an Android device. Mad Catz didn’t provide a lot of details back then, particularly about the price, availability and above all, specifications. It only said that the M.O.J.O will ship around the holiday season. Today, Mad Catz has finally broken its silence and provided the details we have all been waiting for, or not.

The Mad Catz M.O.J.O has a 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor aided by 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with the ability to expand externally up to 128GB through microSD cards. The console has Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, an ethernet port, one full size USB 2.0 and one similar USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth as well as the ability to provide full 1080p HD output through the HDMI slot. The M.O.J.O is powered by Android 4.2.2. Google Play Store will be pre-installed, so customers will have access to all the games that they’ve already purchased. Mad Catz has started taking pre-orders now. The M.O.J.O console will be available in “limited quantities” starting December 10th for a MSRP of $249.99. If the NVIDIA Shield or the OUYA Android gaming consoles didn’t tickle your fancy, perhaps the M.O.J.O just might.

Force Feedback Racing Wheel ups the realism ante

mad-catz-force-feedbackGaming peripherals are dime a dozen out there, but how many of them actually make you feel as though your gaming skills have been augmented with the right peripheral? It might take some time for you to pin down the right kind of joystick, gaming mouse or racing wheel before you know that this is the right “deal” for you, just like how your gut feeling tells you that the girl you are currently dating is the one whom you want to be the mother of your children. Mad Catz, a name that is well established in the gaming peripherals industry, has just announced their latest device that they call the Force Feedback Racing Wheel, which is a premium quality racing game controller that will target the soon to be released Xbox One console.

Specially designed to deliver a highly authentic gaming experience, the genuine suede leather steering wheel has a whole lot more than meets the eye. Underneath the chassis, you will find a slew of technology, including twin next generation Force Feedback motors as well as a luxury CNC anodized aluminum wheel face which can be easily removed from the wheel base as and when required, should the gamer wish to replace or upgrade it sometime down the road.

Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc., said, “As we approach the Holiday season, excitement continues to mount for Xbox One and we’re pleased to announce our second premium product for the console. We have previously commented on how the enhanced performance of Xbox One opens up additional scope for innovation and believe that the precision engineering and customization of the Force Feedback Racing Wheel will appeal to the passionate racing gamer.”

Mad Catz’s Force Feedback Racing Wheel should be the right tool to use when titles such as Forza Motorsport 5 rolls out for the Xbox One, and each purchase will be shipped alongside a fully adjustable Pedal Set, giving you the freedom and allowance to adjust the spring resistance, height and spacing on the gas and brake pedals, so that you end up with the most comfortable gaming position possible, leaving no more room for excuses for your slack driving.
