Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Candy Texture Pack Now Available

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Candy Texture Pack Now AvailableIt is a given that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has been a runaway success, and there is no doubt about it with over 10 million copies sold at the end of last year. Apart from that, there has been texture packs made available in the past such as the Skyrim texture pack, and here we are today that the Candy Texture Pack is now available for the masses to download.

If you are still in the mood for Easter and have yet to eat your fill of chocolate eggs, chocolate bunnies and the like, and also love everything that Candy Crush offers, as this particular Candy Texture Pack comes complete with Ice-cream trees, gingerbread Golems, soda seas, as well as chocolate cake stone amongst other goodies that your dentist would definitely disapprove. The Candy Texture Pack is available for download via the Microsoft Store for $1/€0.95/£0.65, which is a whole lot more affordable compared to a candy bar.

To date, what is your favorite texture pack that was made available on Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition so far? Even more interestingly, how many texture packs have you purchased in the past? Variety is, after all, the spice of life, and to see different textures appear in your virtual universe is a tantalizing idea.

Minecraft PS3 Edition Lands on Blu-ray May 16, Soon on PS4 and PS Vita

Both of my kids play Minecraft; they think it is the coolest game out there. My son plays it on the Xbox 360 and his iPhone. My daughter has a tablet that she carries with her to play on the go and likes the PS3 version on occasion. Each time I’m in the game store in the local mall, at least one kid comes in and asks if they have a copy of Minecraft only to be greeted with “that game is download only” and then spend their money on something else in the store.

I can’t imagine how many sales Mojang has lost in that fashion. Things are about to change with reports that on May 16, PS3 gamers will be able to buy a retail disc version of the game, with PS4 and PS Vita versions to follow soon thereafter.

Shipping games on disc seems obvious; it will make getting the game easier for kids and adults, and save those with slow web connections long waits to play. GameStop has the PS3 version available for pre-order now for $19.99(USD).

Minecraft For Xbox 360 Crosses The 12 Million Copies Sold Mark

Minecraft For Xbox 360 Crosses The 12 Million Copies Sold MarkMinecraft is a game that safe to say is extremely popular. There are many reasons why people love the game. It could be that the ability to build up an entire world by yourself could have its appeal, or perhaps its somewhat retro graphics has a certain novelty value attached to it, but whatever your reason is for loving the game, it seems that there are millions around the world who love it just as much, if not more.

That being said, according to a recent post by Microsoft, they have revealed that Minecraft for the Xbox 360 has managed to cross the 12 million sold mark, which apparently makes it one of the most successful Xbox 360 games ever made. This is a huge leap from back in October 2012 where it was reported that the game for the Xbox 360 sold 4 million copies.

This was later improved to 10 million copies back in December of 2013, meaning that in about 4 months, the game managed to sell an additional 2 million copies, which is pretty impressive when you think about it. The game is still being updated and there be a Candy Texture Pack that is planned for a release on the 18th of April, joining other texture packs like the Skyrim texture pack.

So, what do you guys think? Are you that all surprised that the game managed to sell so well on the Xbox 360? We should note that the 12 million mark is for the Xbox 360 alone, meaning that the number could be potentially a lot higher when you consider that Minecraft is also available on the PC, Mac, and mobile devices.

Minecraft Light-Up Redstone Ore runs on batteries

minecraft-light-up-oreEver wish that something in the virtual world or in a video game environment would be able to make the jump to the real world? If you have answered in the affirmative, and happen to be a huge fan of Minecraft, then you would definitely be interested in the £19.99 Minecraft Light-Up Redstone Ore. You get to sleep right next to the warming glow of this faux rare and precious mineral, sporting a trio of brightness levels which one is able to activate by giving it a tap.

Do bear in mind that this happens to be an officially licensed Minecraft collectible, so you do not need to worry about being accused of purchasing a bootleg merchandise. All right, it is not made up of a precious material, but rather, just rugged ABS plastic compared to having it being carved from solid rock. Deep within happen to be red LEDs that glow compared to being just some priceless molten ore. A gentle tap with your hand on the Minecraft Light-Up Redstone Ore would allow it to cycle through three modes of brightness, where it is powered by a couple of AA batteries.
