Minecraft TARDIS Cake: A Creeper Has the Phonebox!

There are a lot of people one doesn’t expect to coming out of the TARDIS. Chuck Norris, President Lincoln and Nathan Drake to name just a few. Oh and a Creeper. I never expected to see a Creeper in the TARDIS. Get him out before he explodes!

This fun Minecraft and Doctor Who mash-up birthday cake was created by Curiaussiety Custom Cakes of Australia. Look at that Creeper just creeping. He is probably having a quick look outside to make sure the Doctor isn’t coming back, so it can safely blow up the console room.

Hey maybe that Creeper is the Doctor’s new companion. That would be pretty cool.

Minecraft PS3 release set, PS4 and PS Vita move to 2014

One of the strangest break-out hits of our current generation of multi-platform games is Minecraft, a pixelated game that’s headed to the PlayStation 3 this month. While the original Xbox 360 version was released all the way back in May of 2012, this 2013 PlayStation 3 release will be exactly the same, or as similar […]

Minecraft PS3 Edition Release Date Announced To Be December 17

Minecraft recently sold a total of 10 million copies on the Xbox 360 version alone, but the game’s overall sales will certainly get a boost come December 17 as that is when the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be released. Minecraft’s console developer, 4J Studios, announced just last month the PS3 version of the game would be made available prior to the next-gen version. Currently, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft are still in development and will be released next year, although it’s unknown if it’ll be cross-compatible or if remote play will be an option. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Sells Over 10 Million Copies

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Sells Over 10 Million CopiesSome games are just destined to do extremely well when they roll out, and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition happens to be one of them. In fact, this puppy has just officially gone past the 10 million copies sold mark, at least according to the folks over at Microsoft. Xbox social media director Jeff Rubenstein also sent in his congratulatory message, saying, “Congrats to Mojang, 4J Studios, and Microsoft Studios, and a huge thank you to the 10 million of you who have built, explored, and fought through the night on Xbox 360.”

Not only that, there is more good news to follow up on this rather remarkable achievement, where loyal builders will finally get their due as there is a 50% discount on all skin and texture packs. Unfortunately, the timing of this massive sale would not be as what some would expect, since it will last only for a day. All skin and texture packs here would mean the exclusion of Mashup packs, and this particular sale will happen this coming Saturday, December 14th, where it includes Skin Pack 1, Skin Pack 2, Skin Pack 3, Skin Pack 4, Skin Pack 5, Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, Festive Skin Pack, Plastic Texture Pack, Battle & Beasts 2 Skin Pack, Natural Texture Pack, and Fantasy Texture Pack.

Minecraft Creeper Backpack Unfortunately Won’t Blow up Your Homework

It seems like every time I turn around my daughter has my iPhone and she is playing Minecraft. I hear her constantly yelling at the Creepers for creeping up and doing their thang – namely blowing up. If you or someone you know is a fan of Minecraft and goes to school or work where a backpack is a benefit, this is the gift for you.

ThinkGeek has a Minecraft Creeper Backpack that is available right now for $59.99(USD). That’s not exactly cheap, but if you have ever shopped for name brand backpacks, it’s not exactly expensive either. This is also the coolest backpack in all the blocky world.

The backpack is made of woven nylon and has three compartments with double zippers. The main compartment measures 11″ x 14″ x 2″ with 360-degree padding for laptop protection. The middle section is 11″ x 13.5″ x 2.5″. The front pocket has a 5-pocket organizer and measures 10″ x 13″ x 1″.

You can be sure that no one else in grade school will have a backpack like this – unless of course they also read Technabob or shop at ThinkGeek.

Doctor Who/Minecraft Cake: It’s Blockier on the Outside

Fans of Minecraft and Doctor Who will love this mashup cake and want one for their own birthday. This amazing-looking Dark Chocolate Cake with Light Caramel Frosting was made by Chef JB Cada and Stephanie Santos from Quezon City, Philippines bakery The Regali Kitchen.

It brings together two geek favorites in one delectable dessert. It features the 10th Doctor wearing his 3D glasses, along with a Dalek and a Weeping Angel – all done up in Minecraft style. Obviously it was made for Aemon’s 11th birthday and I wish I were that kid.

They probably should have had the 11th Doctor there too since it is the kid’s 11th birthday, but it’s still pretty awesome.

10-Year Old Faces Felony Charges After Spending $800 On Minecraft Using His Grandmother’s Credit Card

10 Year Old Faces Felony Charges After Spending $800 On Minecraft Using His Grandmothers Credit CardIn the past we have heard a story of how a father in the UK, a police officer, reported his son to the authorities over in-app purchases made on iTunes which racked up a pretty hefty bill. This was not done to scare the kid, but rather to get the credit card company to return the funds as a police report had been made. However it seems that in the US, it is an entirely different story as a 10-year old boy faces a felony charge after spending $800 on Minecraft. First of all we’re not sure how one even spends that much in game like Minecraft, and secondly a felony charge for a 10-year old boy? That doesn’t seem too right, does it?

Apparently the boy had used his grandmother’s card without her knowledge and when she noticed the discrepancy, she phoned the bank to report the suspicious activity. At this point we’re not sure if she knew it was her grandson, but the bank basically told her to file a police report, after which they would cancel the charges, which she did and ultimately landed her own grandson into a pile of legal mess. The case has since been referred to prosecutors with the child under suspicion of felony theft. What do you guys think? Doesn’t really seem right, does it?
