Gibbles: Don’t Feed Them After Midnight

If you are looking for some cute and cuddly, but possibly still scary monsters for you are your kids to play with, check out these Gibbles. They have messy fur, ugly faces that only an owner like you could love, and those eyes that peer into your soul.

They do look pretty darn huggable. They are described as “a very nervous and jumpy breed of monster. Any slight noise or sudden movement sends them into a fit of screams, which is why their face always looks like that.” Makes sense to me.

Your kid will either love them or be scared to death. You can scare up some Gibbles from Love & a Sandwich for $40(USD) each.

Is that the Loch Ness monster in this satellite photo used by Apple Maps? Or at least something that looks like a giant biological form underwater? It’s similar to the shape spotted in Google’s satellite imagery.

Martha Stewart Shops CES

marthaandme

For many of us, CES is a massive conference filled with the world’s most innovative technology. To Martha Stewart, the world’s largest Consumer Electronics Show represents a day of gadget shopping.

So what is Martha on the market for?

The lifestyle guru and DIYer had a few specific products in mind when she joined TechCrunch for CES 2014, including a 3D printer, a new set of headphones, a new television for her home theater, and perhaps some updated appliances.

That said, Stewart and I took a stroll through the 3D printing area, checking out FormLabs and MakerBot.

In fact, she and Makerbot CEO Bre Pettis forged a few deals on the fly to license Martha Stewart designs as 3D printable objects. She also asked to be bumped to the front of the line to get Makerbot’s Z18 industrial printer.

Then, we spent a little time at the Parrot booth discussing the benefits of drone ownership. Drownership, if you will. Martha already owns the AR.Drone 2.0, but seemed equally interested in Parrot’s new Sumo rover and Mini Drone quad-copter.

After playing around with those highly expensive toys, Stewart and I visited the Monster booth in search of some nice, lightweight headphones. She has very specific tastes: something light, unobtrusive, stylish, and canceling. Luckily, Tyson Beckford was there to help us out, showing off his Inspiration line of Monster headphones.

Seems Stewart wants the Inspiration Light in rose gold, with black leather and a black ballistic material headband. Tough.

To finish off a long day of shopping, Stewart and I ventured into the biggest booth at all of CES, Samsung. We checked out curved display UHD tvs, smart fridges and washers, and even the new 12.2-inch Samsung tablets.

Monster And Lamborghini Team Up To Deliver Audio System In Veneno Roadster

Monster And Lamborghini Team Up To Deliver Audio System In Veneno Roadster [CES 2014] Monster, a company that is well known for their audio products which more often than not tend to linger around on the high end side of things, has just announced that they have worked on a new sound system in a supercar, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster. This will be an exclusive version featuring Monster’s high end audio system, and those who have made their way to CES 2014 will be able to check it out on the showfloor.

After all, why not celebrate one of the most dramatic cars of the generation, the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, in a way that will see a unique audio system developed? This supercar will retail for a whopping 3.3 million Euros, and there will be only nine of these bad boys produced in the world. Lamborghini picked Monster to work on a cutting edge audio solution, as nothing but the best will do for the most dramatic, open top super sports car ever built by the Sant’ Agata-based company. This special audio system will boast of Monster’s breakthrough technology Pure Monster Sound, which has been specially tuned by Head Monster Noel Lee, giving you a difficult time as you have to choose between the roar of the engine or your favorite tunes. Monster’s DNA Pro Headphones Go Wireless

Monsters DNA Pro Headphones Go Wireless[CES 2014] Headphones are great for taking with you on runs, waiting while taking public transport, or while traveling, but if there’s one annoying aspect is that sometimes the cables of these headphones tend to get caught on things which can be incredibly frustrating. Now for those looking for a wireless pair of headphones, headphone and cable company, Monster, has recently announced their new pair of DNA Pro wireless headphones (the wireless version of Monster’s DNA headphones), which as the name implies is a pair of headphones that does not require a cable connection, but will instead pair with media devices like smartphones and tablets via a Bluetooth connection.

Designed for the more discerning listener in mind, the DNA Pro wireless headphones will feature embedded AAC and APT-X formats for both iOS and Android devices, which should on paper enhance the listening experience, versus traditional MP3 formats in which certain sound qualities might have been compressed or cut out in a bid to reduce file size. The headphones will feature active noise cancelling and will also come with a USB Direct Digital Audio connection for those who might prefer a wired connection, especially if they feel that some audio qualities might be lost if transmitted wirelessly. The headphones will also be able to “power down” when folded away, thanks to a special hinge built into them.

According to Monster, the DNA Pro wireless headphones will be made available in the second quarter of 2014 and will be priced at $449.95.

Monster DiamondZ Headphones Get Limited Edition Finishes

Monster DiamondZ Headphones Get Limited Edition Finishes[CES 2014] Back in 2012, Monster unveiled a rather interesting pair of headphones shaped like a diamond. It was admittedly pretty gaudy but it was meant to be more of a fashion statement if anything else, and it looks like Monster is back in 2014 with their new DiamondZ headphones with limited edition colors that include Rose Gold, Chrome, Black Chrome, and Clear Blue. Now for those who think that these headphones are catered towards females, think again because Monster believes that these headphones will be able to appeal to not just women, but to men as well. Since fashion is largely subjective, why not, right? Just like Monster’s other offerings, the DiamondZ will feature the company’s Pure Monster Sound technology which is personally tuned by Monster’s Noel Lee.

The headphones will pack Monster’s ControlTalk Universal cables and will also come with a Monster Cleaning Cloth with Aegis Microbe Shield to help keep those headphones shiny like diamonds for a long time. It will also come with a Touring Case that lets you pack the headphones and take them with you on the go. Unfortunately it looks like inflation might have caught up with Monster as the company’s DiamondZ pair of headphones are now priced at a slightly higher $329.95 versus the $279.95 when it was launched two years ago. So, any takers?

Monster 24K Headphones Announced For $319.95

Monster 24K Headphones Announced For $319.95[CES 2014] Headphones come in all shapes and sizes, although the past couple of years we have started to see headphones take on a more fashion-conscious feel, partially thanks to the collaboration between Monster and Beats that resulted in headphones many would regard as a fashion accessory. The partnership between Monster and Beats has since come to an end but it seems that the outlandish designs have remained as Monster has announced their new 24K headphones, the Monster 24K which the complain claims has been inspired by rapper Meek Mill’s lifestyle.

The headphones are an over-the-ear model meaning that they should rest around the ears as opposed to directly on them, but we suppose this will vary depending on the size of your ears. The headphones will feature Monster’s Pure Monster Sound technology with “tight, deep bass” which are “unmatched in clarity and depth”. The headphones will also have swivel ear cups which is feature probably appreciated more by DJs. The Monster 24K will also come with a tangle-resistant coil cable, a ProStudio link cable, adapters, and Monster’s ControlTalk Universal that allows for hands-free calling and music playback control. The headphones will be available via Monster’s website for $319.95.
