Moto X Out Of Stock In The Blink Of An Eye

Moto X Out Of Stock In The Blink Of An EyeIt was just yesterday that we talked about how Motorola issued an apology for the Cyber Monday fiasco (where the $150 discount was no longer applicable because of unprecedented demand for the handset alongside issues with MotoMaker), and intends to repeat sales of the Moto X this Wednesday, which is today. The thing is, the entire December 4th’s allotment for the discounted Motorola Moto X has already been purchased, but fret not – good things always arrive in threes. You still have one more remaining chance to snag this particular smartphone from Motorola five days down the road, which so happens to be next Monday, December 9th, from 12 noon EST onward. You know what they say, the early bird gets the worm and all that jazz!

So much for Motorola increasing the available stock between Monday and today, as the handset has proven to be quite popular among the consumers, although at the steeply discounted price, of course. Could Motorola have actually inherited Google’s seeming inability to project an estimate for potential demand of their smartphone, or is it a cleverly spun gimmick to show the world that the Moto X is worth hankering after? I guess we will have a clearer picture when next Monday rolls around, no?

Moto X Cyber Monday allotment drains immediately

It would appear that one of two things are happening with Motorola’s current push for the Moto X after their Cyber Monday debacle. One possibility is that their re-up of supplies in their most recent apology for terrible server up-time this Monday have simply been drained in a matter of monutes. The second possibility is […]

Motorola Apologizes For Cyber Monday Fiasco, Will Repeat Sales This Wednesday

Motorola Apologizes For Cyber Monday Fiasco, Will Repeat Sales This WednesdayIf you have been following the news, you might have heard that Motorola will be having a Cyber Monday sales where they will be offering a huge discount on its Moto X handset. Unfortunately it seems that despite the reports of Moto X sales being poor, Motorola did not anticipate the amount of customers that are eager to take advantage of this discount, ultimately leading to Motorola’s website crashing, which we’re sure frustrated customers to no end.  Motorola has since offered an apology on their blog where they state that it was due to the company misjudging the demand for the Moto X, as well as insufficient pre-sale site testing that led to the issues.

In a bid to make it up to customers who might have missed out on the opportunity to purchase the Moto X, Motorola has also announced that they will be repeating the sales this coming Wednesday. The sales will begin at 12PM EST/9AM PST and will basically be a repeat of the Cyber Monday sale where customers would be able to purchase the Moto X off-contract for $349. Motorola also stated that they will be doubling their stock meaning that more customers will be able to take advantage of it, and will also extend the 30% discount on related accessories for the next 2 days as well.

Moto X Cyber Monday Deal Crashes Motorola’s Website

Moto X Cyber Monday Deal Crashes Motorolas Website

The holiday weekend brought some amazing deals and discounts, retailers would no doubt have seen some of the busiest days of the entire year. The shopping frenzy culminates with Cyber Monday today, quite a lot of online retailers are running special promotions today on a wide variety of products. Last week Motorola announced that it is going to shave off $150 on all off contract Moto X variants purchased through the Moto X website. As it turns out, the surge of traffic on the website caused it to crash, thus halting the promotion which by the looks of things, a lot of people were waiting for.

Motorola confirmed through its Twitter account that the website is down due to the surge in traffic. The company says that it is “working quickly” to restore the website, as of now the off contract Moto X variants can not be ordered through the company’s website. When the website ultimately goes live again, anxious customers will be able to pick up a variant for $150 off the usual price, which means that the 16GB and 32GB models will be available for $350 and $400 respectively. We will update the post and let you know when Motorola gets the website up and running again.

AT&T, Verizon, Sprint To Offer Moto X For $0.01 On Cyber Monday

AT&T, Verizon, Sprint To Offer Moto X For $0.01 On Cyber MondayPlanning on picking up a Moto X handset for yourself? Well we heard that Motorola would be offering a $150 discount on its Moto X handset for those interested in purchasing the device outright as part of its Cyber Monday deals, meaning that its asking price has seen a drop to $349 from $499, and $399 from $549 for the developer edition. Well if you think that the price outright is a tad expensive for your tastes and would like to pay less, and by that we mean a lot less, it seems that AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will be offering the handset for $0.01 come Cyber Monday, but this means that you would need to sign a new two-year contract with either of the carriers.

No word on how long this deal will last, but we can only assume that it will be applicable until the end of Cyber Monday. The deals are available via Amazon’s website (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) and will only apply to the black or white model of the Moto X. This means that if you wanted to customize your device, such as get an engraving or get it in different colors via the Moto Maker website, you’d have to pay the regular price on contract which is currently at $99.99, but if you’re not too fussed, $0.01 seems like quite a steal! So, any takers?

Motorola Offers $150 Discount On All Off Contract Moto X This Cyber Monday

Motorola Offers $150 Discount On All Off Contract Moto X This Cyber Monday

The holiday weekend is fast approaching and shopping deals are gradually being announced. It will be the perfect time to get some shopping done as companies introduce special pricing for the holiday weekend, as well as what’s known as Cyber Monday. Motorola today announced its Cyber Monday 2013 deal. The company is going to shave off $150 on all off contract Moto X smartphones, including Developer Editions and Moto Maker variants. If you have been holding out on purchasing a new Moto X, this just might be the time to pull the trigger.

Carrier variants of Moto X purchased through Moto Maker usually cost $499, apply the discount Motorola’s offering and it comes down to just $349. The Developer Edition Moto X usually costs $549 and will be available for $399 on Cyber Monday. The company hasn’t said exactly how this promotion is going to work, but it does say that stocks of the Moto X are going to be limited. It is quite possible that the stock might sell out even before the end of the day, so if you’re really willing to pick one up on Cyber Monday, it would be best if you do so first thing that day, which falls on December 2nd, 2013. Mark your calendars!

Moto X With Wooden Backplate To Arrive During The Holiday Season

Moto X With Wooden Backplate To Arrive During The Holiday SeasonWhen Motorola first announced the Moto X, one of the coolest customizable options we saw was how customers could potentially choose a wooden backplate for the handset, which is definitely different and more unique from your typical color options. Unfortunately until today, no word on when the wooden backplate option will make its way into the Moto Maker site, but last we heard it was tipped for a Q4 2013 release. Well  the good news is that if you were looking forward to a wooden-backed Moto X, a tweet by reporter for Reuters has revealed that the wooden option will be coming in time for holiday shoppers.

The tweet also mentioned that this means that the option will be skipping Thanksgiving, but we suppose better late than never, right? Interestingly enough another color option was found on the Motorola website, thanks to the digging done by the folks at Droid-Life who discovered that a gold finish was a possibility as well. It is unclear if this will be a complete body color option, or if it will only be limited to button accents, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled. What do you guys think? Who else is looking forward to a Moto X handset with a wooden backplate?
