SMK-Link Electronics Corporation, which happens to be a subsidiary of SMK Electronics as well as the owner of Gyration, Inc., has just announced that they have introduced recent enhancements in the wireless performance of its Gyration Air Mouse GO Plus. The main reason behind doing so? They want to make it the natural choice for K12 classroom as well as collegiate amphitheater applications. Thanks to its patented gesture-based cursor control as well as robust 100’ wireless range, the improved Air Mouse GO Plus could very well end up as the instructor’s first choice when it comes to using it with interactive whiteboards, PowerPoint lectures and multimedia presentations.
Do you think that such a high tech setup would be able to result in a better batch of students who can retain more of what they have learned in the classroom? I guess there are plenty of parameters to keep track of, but with the added advantage of technology, there will surely be an increase in certain performance metrics for sure. The Gyration Air Mouse GO Plus will be able to ply nice with digital projectors as well as whiteboards that are already in place, which would allow it to enable interactive control from a distance of up to 100 feet away, now how about that? Any takers for the $99.99 Gyration Air Mouse GO Plus? [Press Release]

It was only recently that Microsoft announced both the Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets, and if you were thinking of getting your hands on either device but would like to use a mouse with the tablet to increase your productivity, Microsoft has also announced the Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition. This is basically the same Arc Touch mouse that Microsoft announced a couple of years ago, except that this time the mouse has been designed to resemble the new Microsoft Surface tablets.
Just like the original, the Arc Touch mouse can be flattened which makes it an ideal traveling companion. It pairs with devices via Bluetooth 3.0 so apart from using it together with the Surface 2 tablets, it should play nicely with other devices such as laptops and computers as well, as long as it has Bluetooth connection. The Arc Touch Surface Edition mouse will be priced at $69.99 and will be available for pre-order in the US and Canada come 24th September.

Way back in 1983, a time tube was buried in conjunction with the 1983 International Design Conference in Aspen, Colorado. When the tube was buried it was supposed to have been dug up in 2000 and the contents revealed to the public. However, changes in the landscape meant that the tube was lost. One of […]
Does Anyone Else Still Use a Mouse?
Posted in: Today's ChiliWith tablets and trackpad-based laptops slowly taking over the world, using an actually old-fashioned mouse seems to be becoming a niche passion for an increasingly small but devoted few. Maybe the mouse should just die already
Back in April, we saw the first Iron Man 3 computer mouse turn up for gaming geeks who also happen to be comic book geeks. The mouse is made by a company in a Hong Kong called E-Blue. That company is at it again with an updated version of the computer mouse with a few changes .
Under the red and gold Iron Man armor exterior, the mouse has the heart of an optical gaming peripheral. It has onboard sensitivity switching ranging from 500 dpi up to 4000 dpi. It also has six buttons that use mechanical switches. Gamers can also choose their own polling rate using a switch on the bottom of the mouse.
The polling rate can be switched from 125 Hz all the way up to 1000 Hz. Keep in mind that this mouse does use a USB cable rather than being wireless – which is best for gaming. If that wire isn’t a deal breaker for you the mouse is available now for $73 over at Brando.
Let’s hope the mouse has better quality control than the bad translations and typos in the descriptions above.
Logitech’s IFA 2013 lineup includes tablet cases, mice and more, we go eyes-on
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe’ve seen most of Logitech’s latest products by way of press shots, but the company was clearly waiting for IFA to trot out the real deals. We caught the peripheral maker as it was in the process of setting of its booth for the show and got a quick tour of what it’s working on. First up, the company’s giving a little folio love to Android tablet owners, releasing a keyboard case for the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and protective cases for the 10.1, 8.0 and 7.0. We also got a chance to check out that beefy G602 wireless gaming mouse, which’ll give you around 250 hours of gaming on a charge. Speaking of mice, the Ultrathin Touch Mouse is a pretty nice looking peripheral — one that pairs pretty nicely with its TK820 keyboard. Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse ups the design ante for computer peripherals
Posted in: Today's ChiliAre all computer peripherals created equal? The easy answer would be a resounding “No!”, although you would find that along the way, you would have experienced that many of the gizmos that you use are pretty much ordinary in their performance, with nothing that really stands out from the rest of the crowd. Logitech might churn out decent, everyday and workmanlike mice and keyboards in the past, but from time to time, they too, have indulged us with some high end performance peripherals. This time around, the Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse intends to bridge the gap between style and performance, as it delivers an ideal design and functionality for those who tend to work on the move.
The Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse can be certified to be Logitech’s first ultra-portable touch mouse, boasting a slim design that will perfectly complement today’s computers, sporting sleek lines and a brushed aluminum body. Ordinary notebook users might think of it as just another nice mouse to look at, but MacBook and Ultrabook users might just see it otherwise, where this ultra-portable mouse would definitely complement the design found on today’s MacBook and Ultrabook machines.
Thanks to its form factor, the Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse can easily slip into any computer sleeve or pocket, boasting a silky-smooth touch surface that has been created thanks to an invisible coating which will help you simplify Windows 8 navigation, or simply allowing you to take full advantage of the Multi-Touch navigation in OS X. Making use of Bluetooth with Logitech Easy-Switch Technology, the Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse is capable of hooking up sans wires to your laptop, desktop and tablet – simultaneously, and you can switch among them in a jiffy with but a flip of a switch. The mouse itself can be juiced up via USB, and for those emergency moments, a single minute of charge time delivers you enough power to keep working for another hour (a typical user experience applies here, of course). The Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse will arrive in black or white shades, bearing the respective model numbers of T630 and T631, and will retail for $69.99 a pop.

No two gaming mice are alike – ask any gamer, and they will tell you that. Some gamers prefer something simple, especially when you have bound all your keys to different weapons, that all you need to do with your mouse would be to fire your primary weapon, a secondary weapon, and to move with unparalleled precision. Well, some other gamers like something a little bit – nay, a whole lot more complicated, and the more bells and whistles, the better. I suppose the Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse would be the ideal gaming peripheral in this case as it is also a “marathon runner” in a sense where it boasts over eight times the battery life compared to other wireless gaming mice. We are talking about a serious 250 hours of non-stop gaming action here, all without having to compromise its gaming grade sensor or connection performance.
Needless to say, the Logitech G602 is the most recent mouse in the Logitech G lineup, where it will also set up a new standard in wireless gaming. There will no no cords to worry about, and that means clutter and interference free gaming sessions without any lag whatsoever. The Logitech G602 will boast of two modes, namely Performance and Endurance. When in Performance mode, the Logitech G602 will deliver up to 250 hours of non-stop battery life even when in full gaming mode, but in Endurance mode, you get over 1,400 hours of use as it would then kick in its non-gaming mode.
To make sure that you get the best gaming experience possible, the Logitech G602 will also feature an exclusive Delta Zero sensor technology that delivers high-accuracy cursor control. Not only that, there is also an ultra durable build with primary mechanical switches which have been rated to a 20 million-click lifespan. Other than that, there are also eleven programmable controls so that you can master your favorite games easily by assigning the actions you use most to the buttons you want, all thanks to the Logitech Gaming Software. The asking price for the Logitech G602? $79.99 a pop.
