Plantronics BackBeat FIT Wireless Sports Headphones

Plantronics BackBeat FIT Wireless Sports HeadphonesPlantronics extends its BackBeat family of products with BackBeat FIT a new wireless stereo headphones product. As its name indicates, this product has been designed for people who exercise, so the over-the-neck headband provides a very stable fit that should be less distracting than wires. The same head band also makes it very easy to just put the whole thing in your pocket without worrying about tangling wires, and issue that I have bumped into with nearly every wired headphones that I ever owned. Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset

    Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset

Plantronics has a new high-performance Bluetooth Headset called the Voyager Edge which brings many of the features of the top of the line Voyager Legend, but comes in a smaller package and with my favorite feature: the micro USB charging port. I have used the Voyager Legend back when it was launched and although I did appreciate the extremely high audio quality and the long battery life, the proprietary charging connector was ultimately the reason why I did not use it at times: I would often forget the charging cable/dock.

The Voyager Edge solves this by using a micro-USB port, which is a very desirable thing for any traveler, and even if you don’t travel much it’s fair to say that you probably have a bunch of micro USB cables everywhere, including in your car. (more…)

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear Neo Smart Watches Launched at MWC

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear Neo Smart Watches Launched at MWCSamsung launched the Galaxy Gear smart watch back in September at IFA and today, the manufacturer is coming to MWC with its new Galaxy Gear 2 and a lighter version, the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. Both the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo are now running Samsung’s OS Tizen, instead of Android, and they are both one millimeter thinner than the original Gear. The 2.0 Megapixel camera is now located in the watch body instead of the strap, and Samsung added an IrLED sensor so users can control their TVs and set top boxes via the Samsung WatchON Remote application.

The new dual core processor is a little faster at 1 Ghz than the previous one (800 mhz). We hope that the power consumption has been optimized since the battery is a little smaller (300 mAh vs. 315 mAh) probably to fit in the slimmer body. The display and the memory capabilities remain the same: a 1.63” super AMOLED featuring a 320×320 resolution, 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

Sony’s MWC Teaser Promises “Something Extraordinary”

MWC is around the corner and we’re sure many of you guys are excited to see the devices that manufacturers will be sharing with the world! Now for Sony fans, the company has recently released a rather short 16 second clip teaser in which they promise that something extraordinary will be coming to MWC. We’re not sure what that means as it could simply be marketing hype, or that we might be able to expect something truly out of this world from Sony. Either way Sony’s announcement is set for the 24th of February, so we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

In the meantime according to the rumor mill, chances are Sony’s announcement could be about its upcoming Xperia Z2 flagship device for 2014. The device has been leaked and rumored about for a long time so we guess we might finally learn all the official details on the 24th. There is also a chance that Sony might unveil a new tablet which has been codenamed “Castor”. Not much has been said about the tablet, so it remains to be seen as to whether or not the device will be making an appearance at MWC 2014. Last but not least, we have also heard about a mid-ranged Sony device with the model number D5103 which could be announced at MWC 2014, but either way do check back with us then for all the details!
