Hasta La Gadget!

Plantronics has a new high-performance Bluetooth Headset called the Voyager Edge which brings many of the features of the top of the line Voyager Legend, but comes in a smaller package and with my favorite feature: the micro USB charging port. I have used the Voyager Legend back when it was launched and although I did appreciate the extremely high audio quality and the long battery life, the proprietary charging connector was ultimately the reason why I did not use it at times: I would often forget the charging cable/dock.

The Voyager Edge solves this by using a micro-USB port, which is a very desirable thing for any traveler, and even if you don’t travel much it’s fair to say that you probably have a bunch of micro USB cables everywhere, including in your car. (more…)

Samsung launched the Galaxy Gear smart watch back in September at IFA and today, the manufacturer is coming to MWC with its new Galaxy Gear 2 and a lighter version, the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. Both the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo are now running Samsung’s OS Tizen, instead of Android, and they are both one millimeter thinner than the original Gear. The 2.0 Megapixel camera is now located in the watch body instead of the strap, and Samsung added an IrLED sensor so users can control their TVs and set top boxes via the Samsung WatchON Remote application.

The new dual core processor is a little faster at 1 Ghz than the previous one (800 mhz). We hope that the power consumption has been optimized since the battery is a little smaller (300 mAh vs. 315 mAh) probably to fit in the slimmer body. The display and the memory capabilities remain the same: a 1.63” super AMOLED featuring a 320×320 resolution, 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

Based on all the teasers and rumors, we guess many have come to expect that at MWC 2014, Nokia will officially reveal the Nokia X. The handset does not sport the most powerful specs, leading us to wonder is this truly how Nokia wants its swan song to be like? Well rumors have suggested otherwise and claimed that Nokia has multiple Android handsets planned for 2014. Now  thanks to additional reports, it seems that we can expect at least two more Nokia Android handsets after the release of the Nokia X. (more…)
