Samsung S Voice Redesigned [Leak]

samsung-s-voice

When Apple launched Siri, we knew it was only a matter of time before its rivals retaliated with a similar service. Samsung did, back in 2012, when it unveiled S Voice. Since then smartphones compatible with the virtual private assistant have also featured Google Now, offering users two similar services on a single device. The company might be looking to outshine Google Now, it certainly seems evident from the new Samsung S Voice app seen above, the screenshot was leaked online earlier today.

Tizen-Based Samsung SM-Z9005 Spotted On eBay

samsung-tizen-1Samsung is expected to make some kind of Tizen announcement at MWC 2014. Given the invites that Samsung has recently started to hand out, we can only assume that is the case. In fact if we had to guess, we would say that Samsung’s announcement could be about a Tizen-based handset and it wasn’t too long ago that we caught a glimpse of such a device in the form of the ZEQ9000 where a purported render of said device made its way online. Of course there’s no telling if the rendering is the real thing, but thanks to new photos spotted on eBay (the listing has since been taken down), we now have photos of what the handset could look like in real life.

The device has the model number SM-Z9005 which seems different from the previous leak that we saw, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but could be a different handset for all we know. According to the seller, the handset is said to feature a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and will pack 16GB of onboard storage. However earlier rumors have claimed that the device would feature a 4.8-inch display, so we’re not sure what’s with the discrepancy, but then again these are rumors for now. Either way hopefully Samsung will announce something at MWC 2014, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!

Mozilla Will Attend MWC 2014 To Show Off Firefox OS’ Progress

zte-open-firefox-osWhen it comes to smartphone operating systems, there are many to choose from. We have iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Tizen, Firefox OS, and Sailfish OS, just to name a few. However when it comes to platforms that are dominating, safe to say that iOS and Android are probably the two most popular platforms available in the market at the moment, but does that mean that other platforms don’t stand a chance? Well whatever it is, it seems that the folks at Mozilla aren’t planning on giving up yet. The company launched Firefox OS back in 2013 and had accompanying hardware like the ZTE Open and the Alcatel One Touch Fire.

Both devices weren’t particularly exciting, save for their operating system which was new and interesting, but could Mozilla be planning some kind of major push this year at MWC 2014? According to the folks at CNET, the answer would be yes. They claim that “Mozilla will return to the mobile megashow with a press conference to spread its message like wildfire, and to show off its latest progress and products.” We’re not sure if that was designed to hype up Mozilla’s plans or if the company really has something interesting to share with the world, but as we will be live at MWC 2014 ourselves, we will be definitely keeping an eye to see what Mozilla might have in store for us. In the meantime what do you guys think? Anyone excited to see what the future might hold for Firefox OS?

Fingerprint APK For Galaxy S5 Spotted

samsung-logoWill the Samsung Galaxy S5 come with a fingerprint scanner, something along the lines of TouchID found on the iPhone 5s? Well thanks to a recent post by the ever reliable @evleaks, the good news is that if you’re a fan of biometric protection, you might find one in the Samsung Galaxy S5. @evleaks has posted what appears to be some kind of screenshot of a file that has been titled “FingerprintService.apk” which he claims to have originated from the Samsung Galaxy S5. Of course it does not take a photoshop master to recreate something similar, but given @evleaks’ track record to date, his information could be seen as more reliable than most.

In any case @evleaks’ post only goes on to corroborate earlier rumors that suggested that a fingerprint scanner could be part of the Galaxy S5. In fact if anything, it feels like the Galaxy S5 could be a very sensor-heavy handset as we have heard that Samsung could be incorporating better hand-based gestures as well. It was originally rumored that the Galaxy S5 could feature an eye scanner but apparently those rumors have since been debunked. In any case as with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt for now, but who’s excited to see fingerprint technology make its way into the Galaxy S5?

HTC M8 To Come In Multiple Color Options [Rumor]

HTC-One-01While the HTC One back in 2013 might have primarily been known and referred to by its grey model, there are actually other color options, such as red, black, blue, and gold (although this was a limited edition model). That being said, word on the street has it that the upcoming HTC One successor, the HTC M8 which it is tentatively known as for now, will be coming in four color options as well. This is according to XDA moderator Shen Ye who claimed on his Twitter post that he was tipped off to the four possible color variants of the HTC M8.

According to him, the HTC M8’s color options will have the color hex codes: #bebebe, #33b5e5, #cc0000, and #414141, so if you have an image editing program, you can enter those hex codes in to get an idea of what colors you might be able to look forward to. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely keep you guys updated with the latest news. There’s still no telling when the HTC M8 will be launched or what it will be called. Some have speculated that it could be known as the HTC One Two/One 2 and given that MWC is around the corner, it is possible that it will be launched then, but hopefully more details will emerge in the near future.

Galaxy S5 Display Rumor Contradicts QHD Resolution

    samsung-logo

Its not like there’s any shortage of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S5, but can expect to be treated to new rumors each and every day until the smartphone is official. It might take a while before that happens, the company is expected to make an announcement at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona next month, though that too is yet to be confirmed. Previous display rumors have hinted at a possible QHD resolution, but today a contradictory Galaxy S5 display rumor begs us to consider the possibility of Samsung’s next smartphone having a 1080p display instead. Don’t confuse QHD with qHD, they’re both totally different, 540×960 pixel resolution is qHD, which we can rule out for Galaxy S5.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Feature 21MP Camera Sensor Instead Of 16MP Shooter

samsung-logoWe have heard a fair bit about the yet unreleased Samsung Galaxy S5 to know that this upcoming flagship smartphone from the South Korean manufacturer is going to pack some serious firepower in its hardware – apart from the very real possibility of it featuring a 16MP camera at the back, at least according to previous leaked photo samples. Well, it seems that the ante is about to increase even further (Nokia Lumia owners, are you quaking in your boots yet?), as another sample image has surfaced, allegedly snapped by the Samsung Galaxy S5 or a variant, which does point to a 21MP camera in action instead.

Alleged LG G Pro 2 Photos Leaked

654781480_5e229f56_imageSo we know that according to LG, there is an LG G Pro 2 which will be the successor to last year’s LG G Pro, the South Korean company’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3. That being said while we do know of the device’s existence, its specs and how it actually looks like remains something of a mystery, at least until recently where a pair of alleged LG G Pro 2 photos was leaked and made their way onto the internet, courtesy of a post on the DC Inside forum in South Korea. The photos aren’t much to look at and for all we know could have been easily photoshopped, but until proven otherwise, we’ll assume, with a degree of skepticism, that these are indeed photos of the upcoming handset.
