Galaxy S5′s 16MP Camera “Confirmed” In Recently Uploaded Photo

samsung-logoBased on what we know about the Samsung Galaxy S5, it is expected to arrive with a 16MP camera in tow. Of course since Samsung has yet to make an official announcement, it’s pretty much anyone’s guess for now. However with the Samsung Galaxy S4 packing a 13MP camera, an upgrade to a 16MP camera for the Galaxy S5 would make sense and would not be a stretch of the imagination. That being said, a recent photo uploaded by a certain @123fliptest to Flipboard has revealed that the Galaxy S5 would indeed pack a 16MP sensor. The photo itself isn’t much to look at since it looks like it was taken pressed against the back of something, but it was the EXIF data that proved more interesting.

Based on the EXIF data, it showed that the photo taken was of the 16MP quality and was taken by a device whose model number is the SM-G900V. However some suggest that by using the 4:3 aspect ratio, what we might be looking at could be a 21MP sensor instead. As it stands many speculate that this is the naming scheme of the Galaxy S5. The SM-G900A is said to be AT&T’s variant so it is possible that the SM-G900V could be the version destined for Verizon’s network. Like we said the photo isn’t much to look at so in terms of quality, it’s hard to say, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information, so check back with us at a later date for all the details!

Sony Xperia Z2 And Castor Tablet Spotted At The FCC

sony-xperia-z1-review-6Come MWC 2014, we are expecting to see a handful of new devices from Sony. The company did take off the wraps for some handsets during CES 2014, such as the Xperia Z1 Compact, but at MWC 2014 many are looking forward to Sony’s next flagship handset, the Xperia Z2 which has also been known by its codename, Sirius. Well thanks to an FCC filing, a certain Sony PM-0740-BV has made an appearance which many are speculating is the Sony Xperia Z2, despite the Xperia Z2’s other model number being the D6503. The device found at the FCC does come with several different LTE bands which would make it compatible with a variety of different carriers in the US, depending on which are enabled.

However apart from the handset sighting, it seems that another Sony device has been spotted at the FCC as well, this time in the form of the TM-0043-BV which has some thinking that it could be the rumored Sony “Castor” tablet. The tablet has been rumored about for a while now and it is expected to see a release in Japan in the second quarter of this year, but an FCC sighting would suggest that a US release could in the cards as well. With the last tablet from Sony being the Xperia Tablet Z from back in 2013, chances are the Castor could be its successor, but we guess more details will be shared come MWC 2014, so check back with us then for more information on either device.

Possible Samsung Galaxy S5 Variant SM-G900H Gets Certified In Indonesia

samsunglogoThe Samsung Galaxy S5 has been rumored to be announced in the near future. In fact last we heard, the rumors claim that it might even be announced ahead of MWC which we guess is a good move as Samsung will be able to bask in the spotlight for a couple of days before the flood of MWC related news hits the internet. In any case while the jury is still out on when the phone will be announced and launched, a certain Samsung SM-G900H has been spotted and certified in Indonesia, which many are speculating to be the Samsung Galaxy S5.

This is because other possible Galaxy S5 variants have made their way to other parts of the world, such as AT&T’s version which is the SM-G900A, the SM-G900F, and the SM-G900S, suggesting that these are pretty much all the same phones but destined for different markets and/or carriers. If this truly is the case, it looks like Samsung is wasting no time in getting the handset ready for launch in multiple markets, possibly at the same time. The Galaxy S5 is probably one of the most highly anticipated handsets of 2014, at least for the early part of the year since the iPhone 6 and Galaxy Note 4 announcements usually take place in the second half of the year. Will Samsung be able to outdo themselves this year? We guess we will just have to wait and find out, so be sure to check back with us at a later date to see if there are more details to be had!
