Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear Neo Smart Watches Launched at MWC

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear Neo Smart Watches Launched at MWCSamsung launched the Galaxy Gear smart watch back in September at IFA and today, the manufacturer is coming to MWC with its new Galaxy Gear 2 and a lighter version, the Galaxy Gear 2 Neo. Both the Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo are now running Samsung’s OS Tizen, instead of Android, and they are both one millimeter thinner than the original Gear. The 2.0 Megapixel camera is now located in the watch body instead of the strap, and Samsung added an IrLED sensor so users can control their TVs and set top boxes via the Samsung WatchON Remote application.

The new dual core processor is a little faster at 1 Ghz than the previous one (800 mhz). We hope that the power consumption has been optimized since the battery is a little smaller (300 mAh vs. 315 mAh) probably to fit in the slimmer body. The display and the memory capabilities remain the same: a 1.63” super AMOLED featuring a 320×320 resolution, 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

Sony’s MWC Teaser Promises “Something Extraordinary”

MWC is around the corner and we’re sure many of you guys are excited to see the devices that manufacturers will be sharing with the world! Now for Sony fans, the company has recently released a rather short 16 second clip teaser in which they promise that something extraordinary will be coming to MWC. We’re not sure what that means as it could simply be marketing hype, or that we might be able to expect something truly out of this world from Sony. Either way Sony’s announcement is set for the 24th of February, so we guess we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

In the meantime according to the rumor mill, chances are Sony’s announcement could be about its upcoming Xperia Z2 flagship device for 2014. The device has been leaked and rumored about for a long time so we guess we might finally learn all the official details on the 24th. There is also a chance that Sony might unveil a new tablet which has been codenamed “Castor”. lg-series-3The folks over at LG have done it yet again, where they intend to wow the world with a new set of smartphones, with the venue of choice being Mobile World Congress that is happening at Barcelona, Spain, later this month. There will be key elements of LG’s design heritage implemented across all various facets of the visually striking L Series III smartphones. Quick Window that will arrive in a trio of vibrant colors, will be the first cover from LG which has been specially designed for a mid-range smartphone. Quick Window would also deliver functional benefits that go beyond mere protection from drops and bumps, as the presence of this see-through window would enable one to check out just who is making a call, at the same time figure out the current time without having to open up the cover.

All of the L Series III models will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat as the mobile operating system of choice, which would definitely place it in good stead with the rest of the market.
