Oppo Find 7 To Arrive In 2 Versions

Oppo Find 7 To Arrive In 2 VersionsSo far, we have seen and read our fair share of rumors concerning the upcoming Oppo Find 7 which has been touted to be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress later this month, and have even compiled it in a “tell all” story. Well, we have word that the Oppo Find 7 will arrive in a couple of versions, but as to the exact nitty gritty of the difference between the two, it remains difficult to find – at least until today, as AnTuTu’s team has revealed both versions in their database. The two model numbers would be the X9007 and the X9077, where the lower model arrives with a 1080p display, while the other sports a QHD display at 2,560 x 1,600 resolution.

Nokia Normandy 5MP Camera Confirmed In Sample Photo

Nokia Normandy 5MP Camera Confirmed In Sample PhotoThe Nokia Normandy/Nokia X is pegged for a possible announcement at MWC 2014, and so far based on what we know about the handset, the device is definitely not Nokia’s most powerful smartphone to date. Heck, amongst its Android peers it’s not even that powerful and would be considered to be a low-end device. In fact according to the rumors, the Normandy will be packing a 5MP rear-facing camera, and yes while we know that megapixels do not define a good photo, a 5MP camera is hardly considered marketing material.

For those who were hoping otherwise, sorry to disappoint but as it turns out, the Nokia Normandy will feature a 5MP camera after all. This is thanks to a sample photo that was taken by a certain Nokia A110, which is reportedly the model number for the Nokia Normandy/Nokia X. Based on its EXIF data, it has been revealed that the handset will indeed pack a 5MP sensor, but hopefully where it lacks in megapixels, it will make up with in great software and image quality, which to be honest is really what everyone wants from their cameras. The EXIF data has also revealed the camera’s aperture to be f/2.65 which isn’t exactly the brightest, so don’t expect anything amazing when it comes to low-light situations. Either way be sure to check back with us during MWC 2014 where hopefully all the details will be revealed.

Galaxy S5 With QHD Display To Launch After FHD Model [Rumor]

Galaxy S5 With QHD Display To Launch After FHD Model [Rumor]We have heard reports and seen benchmarks of alleged Samsung Galaxy S5 devices that were packing Full HD displays. In fact these rumours seem to contradict reports that the Galaxy S5 would pack a QHD display, but according to other rumors, Samsung could be launching multiple variants of the Galaxy S5. One would supposedly be a higher-end model with a QHD display, and the other would be the more “normal” model with a Full HD display. Apart from the difference in display resolution, we’re not sure if there are any other differences under the hood.

Now thanks to a report from Korean news out, ETNews, it has been suggested that there will indeed be at least two Galaxy S5 variants, and apparently the model with the Full HD display is expected to go on sale late-March as per an earlier rumor, while the QHD model will go on sale at a later date, although no specific dates or a timeframe was given. The report claims that this is due to Samsung being unable to optimize the image quality of their QHD displays, thus the delay. Assuming this is true, we’re not sure how this will impact the sales of the Galaxy S5. For all we know it could be an iPhone 5c situation where customers might decide to either wait or shell out a bit more money for the higher-end model, unless of course the Full HD Galaxy S5 is priced very competitively. Either way since these are rumors, try not to be too worried and check back with us on the 24th of February for all the details.

Galaxy S5 Release Date Pegged For Late March

Galaxy S5 Release Date Pegged For Late MarchIt is almost a given that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014 at their Unpacked 5 event, although in the past Samsung has chosen to announce their handsets separate of MWC 2014, perhaps in a bid to be more exclusive. That being said, assuming that the announcement will indeed take place on the 24th of February, when might we be able to expect to get our hands on the device? Well according to reports out of Korea, it has been suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S5 might only be available for purchase towards the end of March which contradicts O2 Germany’s end-February prediction.

Why so late from its announcement? Well apparently there could be an issue regarding waterproofing, and the reports also claim that Samsung has yet to place their orders for the handset’s components. This means that assuming that Samsung does place their orders in the near future, chances are it will probably be only available for shipping towards the end of March. Either way we’re sure Samsung is eager to get the handset into the hands on waiting fans as soon as possible, so perhaps we will learn more about the Galaxy S5’s release at MWC 2014, so be sure to check back with us then for the details.

Photo Sample Confirms Galaxy S5′s 16MP Camera

Photo Sample Confirms Galaxy S5s 16MP CameraWe’re sure many of you guys can’t wait to learn more about the Samsung Galaxy S5 come MWC 2014. There are indeed many things to look forward to, such as a new design, a faster processor, maybe even a QHD display, and an upgraded camera. According to the rumors, the Galaxy S5 could sport a 16MP camera with ISOCELL technology. This allows the camera to deliver better images under low-lighting conditions, as well as better color reproduction. Now as to whether or not the Galaxy S5 will sport such camera technology, one thing that can be confirmed is its 16MP sensor. This is thanks to a sample photo discovered by @evleaks that was supposedly taken by a Galaxy S5 handset bound for AT&T.

The picture quality itself is pretty bad because it seems unfocused and blurred and is only a photo of a keyboard, so in reality there’s really not much to look at. However it is its EXIF data that made it interesting as the photo had a resolution of 5312×2988 which puts it in the 16MP range. Like we said apart from “confirming” the resolution of the handset’s camera, it does not really tell us if ISOCELL will be one of the Galaxy S5’s camera features. In any case Samsung will be holding their Unpacked 5 event on the 24th of February, so if you’re wondering what you might be able to expect from the Galaxy S5, check back with us then for the details!

Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Feature Upgraded Camera Flash

Samsung Galaxy S5 Could Feature Upgraded Camera FlashIf there is one downside to smartphone flashes is that unlike dedicated camera flashes, smartphone flashes tend to be very harsh looking and unnatural, thus rendering photos with flash to be a very ugly affair. Apple has attempted to correct this with the iPhone 5s and the two-tone flash, and it looks like Samsung could be doing something similar as well with the Galaxy S5. This is according to a post by Samsung Tomorrow which basically talks about how Samsung’s labs have been hard at work at creating a new flash unit for smartphone cameras. The entire post itself is very technical, but what we managed to take away is that these flashes will output more light while looking more natural, which sounds pretty promising.

Now thanks to a paragraph, it seems that Samsung has confirmed that these new flashes will debut in the next Galaxy smartphone at MWC 2014 next week. “Of the latest LED mobile offerings, Samsung’s new reflector-integrated flash LED ─ the 3432 1.8t (FH341A) delivers over 165 lux at 1A and a minimum CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 80, assuring quality photos in daylight and at night. In recognition of such superb performance levels, the 3432 1.8t will be used in the next Galaxy smartphone, which is expected to be introduced later this month.” Needless to say we can only assume Samsung means the Galaxy S5 when they talk about the “next Galaxy smartphone”, and given how much they’ve talked up the flash, we can’t wait to see for ourselves as to how it might perform in real life.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Rumored To Run Tizen

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 Rumored To Run TizenBack at IFA in 2013, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Gear. This was a smartwatch designed by Samsung that also ran on Google’s Android platform. Now according to the reports, Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Gear 2 at MWC 2014, which is a little odd given that the Galaxy Gear is less than a year old. Then again the Galaxy Gear was designed to test the waters rather than debut as an actual commercial product, so perhaps Samsung isn’t too fussed about timelines. Given that the Galaxy Gear ran on Android, many have rightfully assumed that the Galaxy Gear 2 would be similar, especially since it does sport the Galaxy brand, but according to a report from USA Today, they claim that the Galaxy Gear 2 could instead run on Tizen.

According to the report, the Galaxy Gear 2 will run on a HTML5 version of Tizen, and apparently the reason why Samsung chose to use Tizen was because they wanted Tizen to start gaining some ground. Tizen, for those unfamiliar, is Samsung’s own smartphone operating system. The company has promised that we will soon be seeing Tizen devices in the near future so perhaps the Galaxy Gear 2 could help kick things off. However by switching to Tizen, Samsung would basically be abandoning the ecosystem that they have created with the original Android-based Galaxy Gear which probably does not help with developer confidence. Either way this is just a rumor for now, but check back with us during MWC 2014 for the details. In the meantime what do you guys think? Would Tizen be a better fit for the Galaxy Gear 2?
