According to the rumors, Sony could be set to unveil at new tablet at MWC 2014. We haven’t heard much about the device, but what we do know is that the device has been given the codename “Castor”. That being said, thanks to a recent tweet by @evleaks, the alleged specs of the Castor, or the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, have been revealed. According to @evleaks, it seems that we can look forward to a tablet with a 10.1-inch 1920×1200 Triluminos display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset that has been clocked at 2.3GHz, and will come with 3GB of RAM.

In terms of storage, the Xperia Z2 Tablet will come with 16GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD. It will also pack an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The Xperia Z2 Tablet will also feature a sizeable 6,000mAh battery. It was back in 2013 that Sony unveiled their Xperia Tablet Z, so we guess it does not come as a shock to think that Sony might have a newer tablet in the works. The Xperia Tablet Z was a thing of beauty due to its size and thinness, not to mention its decent hardware specs that made its use a pretty good one, so it will be interesting to see if its successor will be able to live up to the expectations of customers.

We have been hearing about the BlackBerry Jakarta for a while now. The handset is said to be the first of many devices to be made under the BlackBerry-Foxconn banner and is expected to be a budget device aimed at emerging markets, although how exactly it will look like remains to be seen, but what we do know is that it will not feature BlackBerry’s trademark physical QWERTY keyboard, but rather a full touchscreen which is surprising, a good surprise to be honest. That being said, that folks at N4BB have managed to get their hands on what is allegedly the rendering of the BlackBerry Jakarta, which might be known as the BlackBerry Z3 commercially.

As you can seen from the rendering above, the design of the handset looks pretty straightforward and while we cannot confirm the specs of the BlackBerry Z3, we can tell based on its render that it will sport a front-facing and back-facing camera with what appears to be an LED flash. It will also most likely run on the latest version of BlackBerry 10, which at the moment is the recently released BlackBerry 10.2.1. There’s no telling if this is the real deal, but according to the rumors, BlackBerry is expected to make an announcement at MWC 2014, so if you’d like to learn more about the Jakarta/Z3, be sure to check back with us then for the details. For the past few months now have been constantly hearing rumors about Samsung Galaxy S5. Recently the company sent out invites for its Unpacked 5 event at the Mobile World Congress 2014 later this month, its expected to finally unveil Galaxy S5 there. Despite that, the rumors keep coming in. A new screenshot has surfaced which claims to “confirm” some rumors we have heard about Samsung’s next generation flagship, particularly about the Galaxy S5 display.

It has been rumored countless times that Galaxy S5 is going to have a 5.25 inch Quad HD 2,560×1,440 pixel resolution display, though recently contradicting rumors suggested that the flagship will actually retain the 1080p display found on the existing flagship, the Galaxy S4. As per this screenshot, the Galaxy S5 display is indeed the QHD juggernaut everyone expects it to be, offering aforementioned pixel resolution at 560 pixels per inch.

Since other options are not expanded, this screenshot doesn’t “confirm” other hardware specifications. From what we have heard up till now, and summarized in our Galaxy S5 rumor roundup, this smartphone will tout a Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB RAM, a 16 megapixel rear camera, a fingerprint scanner while running Android 4.4.2 under the hood. Samsung has kept mum about the Galaxy S5 and we don’t expect it to reveal anything prior to Unpacked 5, so all we can do right now is sit back and wait for the official word. Galaxy S5 Display QHD Resolution ‘Confirmed’ original content from Ubergizmo.

Sony’s next generation flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2, apparently codenamed “Sirius” is expected to be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona later this month. Over the past few weeks there have been countless rumors and leaks related to this smartphone, the most recent leaked images show us the device being compared against its predecessors, the Sony Xperia Z1 and the Sony Xperia Z.

Sony Xperia Z2 ‘Sirius’ Compared With Xperia Z1 and Z original content from Ubergizmo.

A few days ago, an alleged render of the Samsung Galaxy S5 made its way online. There is no telling if the render was real or a fake, but it did offer us an insight as to what we might be able to expect from Samsung. Now thanks to a new render posted by Move Player, another render of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has popped up online, this time showing a more “complete” look and comparing it alongside the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4. Given that Move Player has been pretty reliable in the past when it comes to leaks and rumors, there’s always the off-chance that this could simply be a fan-made rendering rather than the real deal, so don’t get your hopes up just yet.

However assuming this is the real deal, it looks like Samsung will be making the Galaxy S5 more square-ish compared to its predecessors. Samsung had initially taken the sharp-edged design with the Galaxy S2, but with the Galaxy S3, Samsung had decided to go for a more curved look which was slowly sharpened with the Galaxy S4, and with the Galaxy S5, it seems that Samsung could be returning to its Galaxy S2 roots with the design. The rendering looks pretty sleek, we’ll have to admit, and based on what we can see, it also appears to be thinner than its predecessor, which once again is hardly a surprise. Like we said there’s no telling if this render is the real deal, but if it were, what do you guys make of the design?
