Nexus 10 Listed As “Coming Soon” On Google Play

Nexus 10 Listed As Coming Soon On Google PlayThe Google Nexus 10 was launched back in 2012 meaning that it is due for a refresh, assuming Google plans on refreshing it at all. After all the Google Nexus 7 saw an update in 2013, so why wouldn’t Google update the Nexus 10, right?

In the past Google has said that they have no plans to restock the Nexus 10 if it is sold out which is why it is interesting to note that the Google Play Store now says, “Coming Soon” on the Google Nexus 10 product page. (more…)

Leaked Nexus 10 Renders Most Likely Fake

Leaked Nexus 10 Renders Most Likely FakeYou might have seen some photos of the alleged Nexus 10 floating about the internet recently (pictured above), but as it turns out, the image is a fake, at least according to skeptics and was also reaffirmed by none other than @evleaks himself, who wrote, “Pulled the “Nexus 10″ tweet. Was sent to multiple publications, along with slightly differing “corroborating evidence.” Signs of a hoax.” Given that @evleaks has been pretty damn reliable in the past when it comes to these leaks, we are inclined to take his word for it, although some degree of skepticism should be maintained for now.

What made the image somewhat believable is because the Nexus 10 tablet has been due for a refresh for quite a while now. After all Google had refreshed its Nexus 7 tablet, so why not its larger 10” sibling, right? We have heard rumors of a possible Cyber Monday release back in 2013 which obviously did not pan out, and we have also heard how it might be shown off at CES 2014 which obviously did not happen either, leaving us to wonder if Google will ever refresh the tablet at all. We doubt Google will be abandoning the 10” form factor especially since there are many who still prefer their tablets to be that size, so we guess MWC 2014 will be our next hope. Until then be wary of potentially fake images!

New Nexus 10 Release Rumored For CES 2014

New Nexus 10 Release Rumored For CES 2014

Google unveiled updated models of all but one of its Nexus devices. We were treated to a new Nexus 7 tablet and the Nexus 5 smartphone last year but the company didn’t launch a new Nexus 10. There have already been a lot of rumors about the new Nexus 10, the latest coming from infamous Taiwanese publication Digitimes. While its track record is not always solid, the publication claims that the Nexus 10 will be released at CES 2014. Furthermore, the tablet is claimed to have an AMOLED display.

As always, sources from which this information has been obtained have not been mentioned in the report. It is also claimed that Samsung will remain the manufacturer of the new Nexus 10. The Korean company was also the manufacturer of the first Nexus 10 tablet which was released back in 2012. The original 10-inch Nexus tablet has already gone out of stock at a number of major retailers, driving up speculation that a successor is definitely going to be announced soon. On the other hand, Google hasn’t even commented on the existence of a new Nexus 10 tablet, so it can’t be said for sure if the company has any intentions of launching said tablet in the near future. The good things is that CES 2014 isn’t far off, so we should know for sure in a couple of days.

LG V510 Tablet Might Be The Nexus 8

LG V510 Tablet Might Be The Nexus 8

There has been a lot of speculation about the Nexus 10 2013, particularly about its release, because Google hasn’t dropped any hints about the tablet as yet. So far the company has released refreshed models of its Nexus smartphone and Nexus 7 tablet, it is yet to unveil a refreshed Nexus 10. Some believe that the tablet might be manufactured by LG, and previously a codename had emerged which was attached with the tablet. Though as per a service manual that has surfaced in China, the LG V510 might be the much rumored Nexus 8 and not the Nexus 10 as initially believed.

The service manual reveals that LG V510 has an 8.3 inch display, so this can’t obviously be the Nexus 10 if the manual is indeed legitimate. The V510 is said to have a 1,920×1,200 pixel resolution display with a 2GB RAM, 4,600mAh battery, 5 megapixel rear and 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. The dimensions of the V510 are quite similar to LG’s G Pad 8.3 tablet, so there’s a possibility that this might be regional variant of that tablet, because the leaked service manual doesn’t contain any Nexus branding. Google hasn’t even confirmed the manufacturing partner for the Nexus 10 tablet, it was rumored that the tablet might be unveiled today on Cyber Monday, but so far nothing has come out from Mountain View. Google Not Planning On Restocking Nexus 10 If It Sells Out

Google Not Planning On Restocking Nexus 10 If It Sells OutWhile the Google Nexus 7 has been refreshed since its release last year, the Google Nexus 10’s refresh is still in the wind. We had heard the rumors that the Nexus 10’s successor is pegged for a release on Cyber Monday, so we won’t have to wait too long to find out if the rumors are true. However it seems that in the meantime if you were interested in the current Nexus 10, you might be interested to learn that Google has confirmed to TechnoBlimp that they will not be restocking the Nexus 10 once it runs out of stock. This either suggests that Google might be done with the Nexus 10 lineup, or they are simply waiting to release its successor, in which it doesn’t make sense to restock an older product.

While the previous generation Nexus 10 was made by Samsung, some are speculating that the new Nexus 10 would be made by ASUS, the company who was responsible for the Nexus 7. Given ASUS’ success with their Transformer series of Android tablets, it does not come as a complete surprise that Google might tap them again for the Nexus 10. Either way we guess we will just have to wait and find out, but given that we’re only a few hours away from Cyber Monday, we won’t have to wait much longer, so check back with us later for the details!

Purported Nexus 10 2013 Images Leaked

Google has already released a new Nexus tablet and smartphone this year, the Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 5 to be precise, it is yet to release an updated Nexus 10 tablet. Android 4.4 Factory Images For Nexus 4, Nexus 7 Revealed

Android 4.4 Factory Images For Nexus 4, Nexus 7 RevealedIt was just two days back when we brought you word that Android 4.4 KitKat has rolled out for the Nexus 7 tablet, although it is meant for the Wi-Fi only model. Apparently, the manual update packages for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 were said to have been released yesterday too, with the promise of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Nexus 4 and the Wi-Fi + 3G/LTE enabled model of the Nexus 7 would arrive in due time. There has been no Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update in sight so far, but Google has already rolled out the factory images of Android 4.4 KitKat for the respective devices.

Of course, this would translate to your willingness in doing away with all the data on your tablet and start right from the beginning. The factory images which are made available are meant for the Nexus 4, 2012 Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi + 3G), and 2013 Nexus 7 (Wi-Fi + LTE). The Nexus 10 still lacks a factory image, but considering how the OTA is on its way for that particular tablet, it would not be too much of a hassle to wait a little bit longer. Do bear in mind that should one flash one’s device back to stock, there is more margin for error as Murphy waits to strike. A manual update would have less hassle to work with.

Nexus 10 2 Release Dates Confirmed By Google

Nexus 10 2 Release Dates Confirmed By GoogleIt seems that the release dates for the next generation of Google Nexus 10 table (some call it the Nexus 10 2) has been confirmed, where the expected rollout date stands at November 21st at the moment. The amount of silence from Google before is because of the Play Store, as the Internet search giant wants to improve the Play Store beforehand prior to launching the Nexus 10 2. Well, what are the improvements that one is able to expect to appear on the Play Store? Google’s announcement did stress on making all of the tablet-optimized apps easier to browse on the Play Store instead of browsing every app without an indication on just which platform it is meant to run on.

It was also reported that Google has also notified Android developers concerning this matter so that they will make a segregation of their respective apps between tablets and smartphones. If the developer does not take such a step, the created apps will automatically be indicated to see action on smartphones alone. Will the Nexus 10 2 roll out alongside with the Nexus 8? Only time will tell, but we do look forward to see just how the Nexus 10 2 is going to fare in the market when it arrives.
