With the success of tablets like the Google Nexus 7 seeing a second generation here in 2013, it would appear that the pressure is on for not just processor manufacturers but display panel makers to optimize their lower-end. With the creation of NVIDIA’s Kai strategy was laid the tracks for the miniature freight train that […]

Nexus 7 sleeve shipping refunds surfacing amidst lower Play Store pricing structure
Posted in: Today's ChiliGoogle launched the sleeve for its new Nexus 7 tablet yesterday, a neoprene protective cover for the slate that was available for purchase in both the U.S. and Canada. The sleeve itself was priced at $29.99, which falls in line with conventional pricing elsewhere. What didn’t match up to expectations, however, was the shipping price. […]
Unless what we’re seeing this morning is a test model not meant for public consumption, it would appear quite likely that the Nexus 7 LTE is coming to stores imminently. This multi-carrier 4G LTE iteration of the 2013 reboot of the Nexus 7 works with a solution created by Qualcomm to connect with a massive […]
Those of you who have already purchased the recently announced Nexus 7 would be pleased to hear that it is time to play Barbie with your spanking new tablet – and by that, I mean dressing it up in its coming share of accessories, of course, and not to wrap a ribbon around it! The latest accessory for the new Nexus 7 would come in the form of a sleeve, where you can find it on the Google Play Store so that your tablet will remain protected from any accidental knocks, scratches or drops.
Unfortunately, the price tag is not something that looks to inviting – and when you factor in the rather obscene shipping costs, Nexus 7 owners might want to think twice. After all, the Nexus 7 itself is a looker, so a sleeve might cramp your style, if you know what I mean. The new sleeve itself will cost $29.99 a pop, not to mention a whopping $17.68 in shipping costs where standard shipping times apply. Ouch! Not only that, while this might be the first sleeve to roll out for the Nexus 7 on the Google Play store, you can bet your bottom, hard earned dollar that it will far from the last! Now for us to sit back and wait for a deluge of color options to arrive in due time.

Posted in: Today's ChiliIt seems the new Nexus 7 is having some teething problems, with users reporting erratic touchscreen, keyboard and GPS function so far. Have you been having any problems?
While we stand by what we have concluded about the recently released Nexus 7 (2013), it seems that the latest tablet from Asus does have some issues, at least according to some users who have complained on a Google Products Forum about erratic touchscreen and keyboard issues, apart from the GPS navigational capability not working as flawlessly as expected for some, too. In fact, where the GPS issue is concerned, it has been reported that the GPS signal will stop working within 2 minutes after it was turned on, and while Google intends to roll out a fix, some Google Nexus 7 (2013) owners reportedly have received a replacement unit.
Someone who received one of such replacement units reported that the tablet is not problem free – in fact, it is facing issues with the touchscreen display, where some of the complaints include double taps, ghost taps and erratic behavior from the glass. There is also one instance of a Nexus 7 (2013) owner running into such issues with the 16GB model, and after getting a 32GB replacement, not much luck was had, either. One of the suggestions would be to start the tablet in safe mode to check out if any of the apps are causing this issue, so good luck!
