Nikon Imaging Japan - Shooting Master Shoulder Bag L - Robust and water-shedding high-end camera bag made from the same material as a bulletproof vest

Nikon Imaging Japan is releasing a robust and water-shedding high-end camera bag – the “Shooting Master Shoulder Bag L” on June 27. Its material is the same as that used in a bulletproof vest.

Inside of this camera bag, there is enough room for a digital single-lens reflex camera with a standard lens, a few interchangeable lenses, and a speed light, all carried together.

And although it holds a lot of things together, the shape is narrow-designed so that the camera bag looks very stylish.

When it starts raining, you can take out a rain cover that is built into the bottom pocket and put it on the camera bag.

Estimate price: ¥40,950
Size: (Outer size) W520 x H280 x D240mm, (Inner size) W420 x H250 x D180mm
Weight: 2,600g
Accessories: Name tag with the “Nikon” logo on, rain cover, large-sized shoulder pad

JVC outs the JY-HMQ30 its first Nikon F-Mount 4K Camcorder!

Good lord I am happy to be a Geek today and thank you JVC for making something the we all dreaded for : a compact 4K Camcorder supporting DSLR lenses! Featuring Nikon’s famous F-Mount the JY-HMQ30 is not your average camcorder and will shot 60fps AVC/H.264 4K Video on four separate SDHX/SDXC (each SD will shoot a 1920×1080 portion of the 4K video) at 144Mbps or if HD is still your thing, 1080/60p Videos at 28Mbps.
Of course the JY-HMQ30 comes with Apple’s ProRes422 Codec via JVC’s 4K Clip manager as well as featuring 4K Time Lapse recording, Focus assist XLR and even nice 3.5″ touchscreen!

Available this month in Japan, the JY-HMQ30 is far from being the most affordable 4K Camcorder on the market and it will cost you at least 1.7Million Yen without lenses

Lovers of 4K and Nikon glass, rejoice: JVC has just launched a 4K large-sensor camcorder that will use Nikon F-mount lenses. The JY-HMQ30 camera will operate in manual focus mode only — even with AF glass — though f-stop settings will be controllable in-camera for modern lenses with no aperture ring. As with the company’s fixed lens GY-HMQ10, the interchangeable model will record AVC/H.264 4K video at up to 60 fps onto four separate SDHC cards, each capturing an HD-sized quadrant with a total maximum data rate of 144Mbps — and also capture 1080/60p video at 28Mbps onto a single card. Other features include a JVC 4K clip manager that’ll convert files to Apple’s ProRes422 codec, live 4K, 60 fps output to a monitor or portable recorder, 4K time-lapse recording, a focus assist function and stereo XLR microphone inputs. Though the company’s taking orders for the 1.7 million yen ($18,000) camera starting today in Japan, there’s no word yet on availability or pricing stateside — but you can probably start polishing up those Nikon lenses soon.

Nikon – The 80 millionth NIKKOR lens has been manufactured, coinciding with the NIKKOR’s brand’s 80th anniversary

Nikon - The 80 millionth NIKKOR lens has been manufactured, coinciding with the NIKKOR's brand's 80th anniversary

Nikon Corporation has announced that the cumulative number of NIKKOR interchangeable lenses manufactured by the company has reached 80 million.

Nikon (then Nippon Kogaku), launched its single-lens reflex camera “Nikon F” in 1959, and at the same time released the “Nikon F” “NIKKOR-S Auto 5cm f / 2″, the first “NIKKOR” lens. Since the launch of this lens, the line-up has been expanded while leading the optics market in Japan and around the world.

This includes the start, in October 2011, of the “Nikon 1″ which increased the pace of sales on NIKKOR lenses. The company reached the milestone of 75 million lenses in early November 2012, and now has already hit the 80 million mark.

Many different lenses have been introduced as part of the company’s new lineups. For example, since the beginning of 2013, as an interchangeable lens for Nikon single-lens reflex cameras, 3 lenses were released including FX format compliant 5x telephoto zoom lens “AF-S NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR”.

Regarding the “1 NIKKOR” lens for interchangeable lens advanced camera “Nikon 1″, after 2013, 3 lenses were released including 10X zoom lens “1 NIKKOR VR 10-100mm f/4-5.6″.

Nikon is also celebrating the 80th anniversary of the NIKKOR brand which is considered the benchmark by many in the optics and camera industries.

The video below is really interesting and was made to commemorate the brand’s 80th anniversary.

Nikon unveils 1 Nikkor 32mm lens with extra-fast f/1.2 aperture, manual focus

Nikon unveils 1 Nikkor 32mm lens with extrafast f12 aperture

Mirrorless camera fans who’ve gone the Nikon 1 route have had a fair selection of official lenses to choose from, but not the Holy Grail of a truly fast telephoto lens. Nikon may have just produced that ideal glass today in its new 1 Nikkor 32mm lens. It shoots at a reasonable 86mm equivalent distance, but with an extremely bright and quick f/1.2 aperture — theoretically, making it one of the better 1 Nikkor lenses for low-light shooting, action and portraits with soft backgrounds. The 32mm could also be the perfect fit for control junkies, as it’s the first Nikon-made mirrorless lens with a manual focus ring. While this premium photography will carry a suitably elevated $900 price when the 32mm lens ships in June, the cost might be worthwhile for those who want speedy optics in a very small size.

Nikon Imaging Japan added new lens “1 NIKKOR 32mm f/1.2″ to the Nikon lens lineup for the lens-replaceable “Nikon 1″ camera in June.

Focal length is 32mm. Since it’s an aperture single focus lens that has the lightest F-number 1.2, it’s got high resolving power and is capable of capturing even the slightest details very well, such as a single eye lash.

Sony’s 2014 Alpha Lineup Expected To Outshine Nikon And Canon [Rumor]

Sonys 2014 Alpha Lineup Expected To Outshine Nikon And Canon [Rumor]When it comes to cameras, the big names up there are Canon and Nikon, although it was several years ago when Sony introduced their Alpha series of DSLR cameras that Sony became one of the brands that many professional photographers started turning to. Perhaps on the surface it might seem that the competition is more or less on par with each other, but according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, they have received a tip, or rather an opinion, from one of their “top sources” that come 2014, Sony plans to outshine the competition with their new Alpha lineup of cameras.

We reported before that the NEX-7n could be the only NEX system to be released by Sony this year, which is apparently due to Sony’s new CEO who has decided a more revolutionary change approach would be a better strategy for the company, versus the evolutionary approach, which would see Sony launch game changing devices rather than products that merely attempt to keep up with the competition and the market. Take this with a grain of salt for now, but we’re sure that many photographers are probably eager to see what Sony has planned for the future, so check back with us at a later date where hopefully additional details will be available.

Nikon Patents System Where Passwords Are Required To Activate A Camera Lens

Nikon Patents System Where Passwords Are Required To Activate A Camera LensHaving your phone get stolen sure sucks, but we can’t imagine how much worse it would be to have your camera stolen, especially if there are expensive lenses in the bag as well! While it might be hard to try and recover a stolen camera, Nikon has a patent in which it will make it harder for thieves to sell stolen equipment. This patent basically describes a method in which lenses require a password to be entered before they can be used with the camera. Should the wrong password be entered, the camera would then refuse to shoot with the lens. It’s a pretty intriguing idea and like we said, since this does not necessarily mean you will be able to recover your camera or expensive lenses, it might deter those who would steal them, thus reducing the chances of having your equipment stolen in the first place.
