If you know your NES history, then you’ll definitely know about Nintendo World Championships. It was a custom game that was created for a nationwide Nintendo Entertainment System tournament back in the year 1990. Only 116 cartridges were ever produced, the custom game required players to beat select levels from popular titles like Super Mario Bros., Tetris and Rad Racer under seven minutes. Once the levels had been completed, scores were tallied and winners went through to national championships. 90 semi-finalists received a free copy of Nintendo World Championships, which have now become extremely rare. If you have been searching for one and have quite a bit of money on your hands then you’re in luck, one such cartridge has popped up for sale on eBay.

The Nintendo Wii U is definitely a console that is losing out on its position in the market, especially with the advent of the Xbox One as well as the Sony PS4. Developers play a very important role in making sure that any console has a steady stream of games that are worth playing, and while Nintendo’s first party titles have been more or less flawless most of the time, EA (Electronic Arts) intends to stop publishing more titles for the Nintendo Wii, after rolling out Mass Effect 3, Madden NFL 13, FIFA 13, and Need for Speed Most Wanted on it.

If there is one particular game genre that was introduced on the Nintendo DS platform which certainly captured the imagination of many due to its unique style of gameplay, it would be the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series. I admit that I thoroughly enjoyed myself playing through the different cases over the years, but as I left college and entered the working world, I also ditched the gaming world behind. It is then my pleasure to announce that Ace Attorney compilation will be making its way to the Nintendo 3DS, where it will be the first of three Phoenix Wright games which will appear in 3D.

Nintendo Rumored To Be Working On New Consoles: Fusion DS And Fusion Terminal
Posted in: Today's ChiliAs you might have heard by now, Nintendo isn’t doing too well as they have recently slashed its Wii U sales estimates by 70%. The company announced they would be exploring a new business strategy and reassured gamers they were not done with consoles just yet, and now thanks to a new rumor, it seems that Nintendo could be working on new consoles, with one of them being the handheld variety. If the rumors are to be believed, the consoles are expected to be called the Fusion Terminal and the Fusion DS, with the latter being the handheld version. Now it should be stressed that these are just rumors for now, although admittedly rather extreme rumors, so be sure to take it with a grain of salt for now, although they do make for an interesting discussion. Gamers without doubt would love it if all their games could run at a silky smooth consistent 60fps. The good news is that the latest Zelda game, A Link Between Worlds, does run at 60fps much to the delight of gamers and Zelda fans everywhere, but if you were hoping that this is a trend that will carry on to future Zelda games, both new and possible remakes, don’t get your hopes up, at least that’s what the game’s director wants gamers to know. Speaking to Game Informer magazine (via Nintendo Everything), the game’s director, Hiromasa Shikata stated that despite A Link Between Worlds featuring 60fps, “This doesn’t mean that all future Zelda titles will run at 60 frames per second.”
Apparently the reason behind the 60fps frame rate in the game is because they wanted it to look “smooth” and “crisp”. According to Shikata, “It’s really the concept of the game that changes whether you want to keep the volume of information in the game low and running at 60 frames per second. We kept it at 60 to make the 3D look smooth, allow the players to clearly see enemy movements, and keep everything moving crisply as with previous games. This doesn’t mean that all future Zelda titles will run at 60 frames per second.” We guess this is somewhat disappointing, but at the same time previous Zelda games did not run at 60fps either and those were just as fun, so here’s hoping that future Zelda titles will be fun enough where players can overlook its frame rates.
