Nokia has revealed a trio of new Asha handsets, the Asha 500, 502, and 503, pushing its affordable smartphone range with an unusual “trapped in ice” aesthetic. The three phones join the original Asha 501, announced earlier this year, in offering a MeeGo-esque interface and budget features, with all three expected to come in at […]
Leaks of the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 have been happening lately, ranging from specifications to its possible price point. Well, this is to be expected since the Lumia 1520 is widely tipped to be introduced at Abu Dhabi, and this time around, we have yet another shot of the Nokia Lumia 1520, except that it will be accompanied by a Treasure Tag key finder.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 in this particular leak is shown from a new angle, which would allow us to get a better idea of just how incredibly slim the form factor of this device is. It does seem as though it is going to be just as thin, if not thinner, compared to the current Nokia Lumia 1020 flagship. There has been unconfirmed reports trickling through that the Lumia 1520 will most likely feature a 6″ display, a 20-megapixel shooter as well as a 3,390 mAh battery.
We should also be greeted by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and Full HD 1080p display underneath the hood, accompanied by the Nokia Glance Background. As for the Nokia Treasure Tag, this tiny keychain device will be hooked to your bunch of keys, where the phone can be used to make it ring so that they are easy to locate. No more looking around frantically for your keys, eh?

In a few hours’ time, Nokia will be holding a press event in Abu Dhabi where it is expected that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will be announced. For those unfamiliar, the Lumia 1520 is a phablet device by Nokia but it looks like Nokia might have more than one phablet to share, with the other being the Nokia Lumia 1320. The press rendering of the handset was recently leaked by @evleaks. The Lumia 1320 was first tipped off earlier this month where it was given the codename “Batman”, but we guess we now know what the handset will look like.
The Lumia 1320 is expected to be the top low-end Windows Phone device and based on the rendering, it looks like the phone is essentially a blown up version of the Lumia 625. While the exact size remains unknown, some are speculating it could be in the 5-6” category. The specs of the Lumia 1320 also remain a mystery for now, but it is rumored to feature a 5MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera and is also expected to ship with some of Nokia’s camera apps. We expect that Nokia will reveal the full specifications of the Lumia 1320 during their event so if you like the idea of an affordable Windows Phone phablet device, be sure to check back with us later for all the details.

Nokia used to be the de facto name when it came to mobile phones, but somewhere along the way, something went wrong – and they were knocked off their perch by the slew of smartphones that were released by other manufacturers. Well, the Finnish company has decided to throw their weight behind Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform, and they have grown from strength to strength, with a reported 8 million plus Nokia Lumia smartphones sold in the previous quarter.
This would include a gradually increasing smartphone market share in both Europe and Asia, with a most recent report from The Wall Street Journal citing that the company could have sold over 8 million Lumia smartphones in the past quarter. It is certainly good news by any means, considering how the company has been struggling for quite some time already. Hopefully Nokia will be able to build and consolidate itself even further from four consecutive quarters of increased sales of Nokia Lumias.
It is tipped that the 8 million plus devices sold in the previous quarter is more than double the amount sold during a corresponding period last year, while marking an increase from its previous sales figure of 7.4 million for the second quarter of 2013. Are you happy that Nokia is doing better?

A collection of devices will likely be revealed this week by Nokia – everything from a tablet to a smartphone (or more than one) to an MP3 streaming music player. This smallest of the collection of devices has been tipped with the name Nokia Guru – at the moment it would appear likely that this […]
We recently heard about the Nokia Guru thanks to @evleaks leaking information regarding the MP3 player just a few days ago. And just a few days later, we have what appears to be the first press render of the Nokia Guru.
As you can see from the image published above, the Nokia Guru has some similarities to Apple’s iPod Shuffle. Judging by the image, there doesn’t seem to be a display on the device, although it apparently does have NFC. This means the Nokia Guru can be connected with an NFC-compatible device and could possibly have music transferred over and maybe even controlled through NFC. The last part is purely speculation on our part, although seeing how there’s no display on the Nokia Guru, being able to manage content through an additional device would be one we’re sure many people would be interested in.
The leaked image of the Nokia Guru can be seen in a baby blue-like color, which leads us to believe Nokia will be announcing multiple colors for its Guru considering how colorful some of their smartphones are. Nokia has scheduled a press event to take place on October 22, so we guess we just need to wait another 24 hours to hear exactly what the Nokia Guru is.

With Windows Phone 8 now geared up for larger displays, you can expect to start seeing correspondingly large handsets. Like, for instance, the much-rumored Lumia 1520
Here’s one more bit to add to the growing Nokia Lumia 1520 checklist, this time indirectly coming from Nokia itself. One of the company’s Chinese partners has inadvertently leaked some of the hardware and pricing details for Nokia’s rumored phablet. Our picture of this new Nokia smartphone, codenamed “Bandit”, is far from complete, but some […]
Someone should formulate a law that has something to do with additional rumors and details leaked about a particular device or product the closer the release date of said product or device draws. Case in point, the Nokia Lumia 1520 that has seen its full list of specifications leaked not once, but twice already, and for those of you out there who happen to not get enough of Nokia’s upcoming flagship device, Nokia China might have inadvertently let it slip the pricing details of the Nokia Lumia 1520 in that part of the world.
Apparently, the Nokia Lumia 1520, a 6” phablet, has been listed at 4,999 Yuan ($820 USD) with a 99 yuan booking fee. ($16.24 USD). So far, what has been seen on the promotional material there has not differed from the leaked specifications, including a 1080 x 1920 resolution Full HD display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as well as a spanking new 20.7-megapixel PureView camera. Do expect full confirmation of leaked details this coming Tuesday during the expected Nokia Lumia 1520’s unveiling.
It has been expected that the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet and a bunch of other devices too, will be introduced then. For those of us living in the US, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is slated to appear via AT&T from November onward, with a probably $299.99 price tag accompanied by a two-year contract.

Here we are with yet another leak from the good people over at @evleaks, where they have shown off what does seem to resemble the Nokia Lumia 929 that will be headed for Verizon. Just what kind of smartphone will the Nokia Lumia 929 be? It is more or less a physically less imposing version of the Nokia Lumia 1520 handset, sporting a 5” AMOLED display that delivers 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution which should make watching all those movies while you are on the go a cinch. Not only that, it comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor alongside 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory.
Not only that, the Nokia Lumia 929 is also said to feature a 20.7-megapixel PureView camera that is located at the back, where it boasts of a ZEISS lens, dual-LED flash and the ability to play nice with the Nokia Camera app. Not only that, it also sports dual-capture mode (5-megapixels and 16-megapixels) with the inclusion of optical image stabilization. It ought to arrive in both black and white shades, too.
We ought to take note that this is not the first time that such a press rendering has been leaked out for the Nokia Lumia 929 that indicates it is arriving for Verizon, but as the possible release date draws nearer, I guess that means a leak then would be an indicator of its relevance.
