Nokia has taken to its Twitter account this morning, sending off a tweet with an October 22 date and the promise of more information to come on that day. Nokia teases 'innovation reinvented' on October 22nd

Well, isn’t this convenient? Rumors have circulated that Nokia was delaying the Lumia 1520 launch beyond late September, and the company has just teased an “innovation reinvented” event on October 22nd. The company isn’t giving many clues, although the desert skiing image is curious — we’re wondering if the press gathering may take place in a similarly exotic venue. Wherever the event takes place, you know we’ll be there.

That giant 6-inch Lumia 1520 that was targeted to launch this month is supposedly being delayed until late October because of the Microsoft and Nokia deal. That is, if we see it at all.

Nokia Lumia 1520 launch reportedly delayed in wake of Microsoft deal

Nokia Lumia 1520 leak

If you believe the rumors, Nokia was supposed to launch the supersized Lumia 1520 (aka Bandit) as soon as next week. However, this unannounced Windows Phone may have hit an unofficial snag: Reuters claims that Nokia has delayed the unveiling by “several weeks” in the wake of Microsoft’s plans to buy the company’s device business. There’s no word on an adjusted release date, although the historically accurate @evleaks has heard that the 1520 might appear in late October. Not surprisingly, Nokia isn’t commenting on delays for a product that doesn’t officially exist — but don’t be shocked if there’s a new flagship Lumia later in the fall.

AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 Allegedly Goes On Sale November 8th

AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 Allegedly Goes On Sale November 8th

The Nokia Lumia 1520 is making rounds on the internet these days, this device is said to be Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 phablet. We hear rumors about this device on a daily basis, picture and spec leaks are a common occurrence now. Nokia hasn’t made an official announcement as yet regarding this device, though as per recent rumors, it might finally unveil the Lumia 1520 on October 22nd. What about the actual release though, which some believe won’t take place until November since Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update isn’t ready for public release? A new report suggests that AT&T might release Lumia 1520 on November 8th.

The report claims Lumia 1520 will be offered in four different colors, white, yellow, red and black. Off-contract price on AT&T is said to be $699, contract pricing hasn’t been rumored as yet. Nokia Lumia 1520 was initially believed to be an AT&T exclusive, but since a Verizon branded picture of the device was leaked online, it is now believed that other U.S. carriers might launch the device as well. Nokia Lumia 1520 reportedly has a 6 inch display, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor, 2GB RAM, 20 megapixel PureView rear camera, 32GB onboard storage and a 3,400mAh battery. Both AT&T and Nokia are yet to make an official announcement.

Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 powered phablet is expected to be released in the coming months. There have already been a lot of rumors about the Nokia Lumia 1520, we get to see leaked pictures of this device almost on a daily basis. Its no different today, a picture of Verizon branded Lumia 1520 has surfaced online through Sina Weibo, which is China’s equivalent of the popular microblogging network, Twitter.

At first it was said that Nokia will unveil this device at an event on September 26th. The Lumia 1520 was rumored to be an AT&T exclusive in the U.S., but this Verizon branded photo makes us believe on the contrary. There’s obviously no confirmation as yet from both Verizon and Nokia, so its best to take this picture with a grain of salt for now. Rumors suggest that this phablet might tout a 6 inch full HD display, a 20 megapixel PureView rear camera, quadcore processor and a 3,400mAh battery. Even if Nokia unveils the device this month, it is believed that the actual launch might not take place until November, because Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update isn’t ready for public consumption as yet. A recent rumor suggests that Nokia might have pushed back the Lumia 1520 announcement to October 22nd.

If you’re going to buy the Lumia 1020 for its 41-megapixel camera (and if not that, what the heck did you buy it for?) you may as well spring for the $59 camera grip too. That’s what Philip told himself, anyway, after picking up the phone on AT&T.

Nokia 108 And Nokia 108 Dual SIM Announced

Nokia 108 And Nokia 108 Dual SIM AnnouncedNokia’s bread and butter in developing countries happen to be entry level phones, and most of the time, these handsets would not even be able to make it to the smartphone category. Having said that, this does not mean that Nokia has decided to skimp on quality when it comes to their entry level handsets, and a good example to back up this point would be the introduction of the Nokia 108 as well as its Dual SIM version.

The Nokia 108 would continue from where the Nokia 105 left off, where it will now arrive with a VGA camera without breaking the bank. We are talking about an extremely low price point of just $29 a pop, now how about that? Timo Toikkanen, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia, said, “We continue to connect millions of people, including those for whom mobile phone ownership was previously out of reach. There remains a huge segment of the global population that has yet to own a camera phone. For the next billion people and beyond, we aim to bring new mobile experiences to ever-lower price points, and the Nokia 108 and Nokia 108 Dual SIM are great examples of this commitment.”

This seems to be the ideal “backup phone” that can withstand its fair amount of abuse, wear and tear without having you worry each time it is dropped. [Press Release]
