Panasonic Lumix GH4 Priced At €1,499 On Dutch Retailer’s Website

Panasonic Lumix GH4 Priced At €1,499 On Dutch Retailers WebsiteJust the other day Panasonic announced their latest camera in the form of the Lumix GH4, the successor to the Lumix GH3 that was launched a couple of years ago. Unfortunately apart from mentioning all the specifications of the Lumix GH4, Panasonic declined to mention when the camera would be released or how much it would cost. Perhaps they were saving the announcement for CP+ or perhaps the pricing would differ from region to region, so they weren’t able to dive into specifics just yet. That being said, it looks like a Dutch retailer by the name of CameraNu has started to take pre-orders for the Lumix GH4 where they have priced the device at €1,499 for the body only.

This roughly translates to about $2,045 for the body-only if it were to be sold in the US. However like we said, pricing for different markets will not necessarily maintain the same price or its equivalent in local currency as different countries have different tax laws. The PlayStation 4’s price in Brazil is proof of that. In any case since Panasonic has yet to make the official announcement on price, perhaps we can use the Dutch retailer’s pricing as a benchmark for now, so if you’re thinking about getting the Panasonic Lumix GH4, perhaps you might want to start putting some money aside.

    Panasonic Lumix GH4 Announced

Panasonic Lumix GH4 AnnouncedPhotographers, if you’ve been looking forward to the sequel of the Panasonic Lumix GH3 from back in 2012, you might have heard the rumors that Panasonic could be releasing the Lumix GH4 in the near future. Well it looks like those rumors were right as Panasonic has officially announced the Panasonic Lumix GH4 which the company claims to be the world’s first DSLM with 4K video recording capabilities, although it should be noted that this claim is for a digital single lens mirrorless camera as of date as there are other cameras out there that can shoot in 4K resolution.

In any case according to the rest of the specs, the Panasonic Lumix GH4 will feature a 16MP Live MOS sensor and will be powered by a Venus Engine IX processor that not only allows for 4K video capture, but also 12fps continuous shooting and Full HD 1080p video shooting at bitrates as high as 200Mbps. The GH4 will also feature a new autofocus system called “Depth from Defocus” that allows the camera to focus as quick as 0.07 seconds. The camera will come with a 3-inch OLED display that can be adjusted, and an OLED EVF with over 2 million dots. There will also be WiFi and NFC connectivity that allows for wireless transfer of photos onto mobile devices. Pricing and availability have yet to be determined.
