Panasonic Unveils Snazzy Designer Lumix XS1 Digital Camera

Panasonic has announced a slim and stylish compact digital camera that is available with 10 unique designs on the outside. The camera is called the Lumix DMC-XS1 and is said to be the thinnest 5x optical zoom camera with a retractable lens and optical image stabilization.

The 10 designs are based on pop art, gift wrapping, floral patterns, digital, textures, and more. Most of the camera styles are aimed at women, but there is a camouflage offering that hunters would enjoy.

The camera’s resolution is 16.1-megapixels. The lens has an aperture of F2.8-6.9 and a focal length of 24-120 mm in 35mm equivalent.

It also features a built-in flash and the ability to record 720p resolution video. Storage for the camera is via a microSD card slot. The camera also has a number of in camera creative controls with filters and more. Pricing for the new camera designs is unknown at this time.

Panasonic offers Lumix XS1 digital camera with custom designs

Panasonic has been busy this week trotting out several new digital cameras. A few days ago, we talked about the new LF1 and G6 digital cameras from Panasonic. Panasonic is back with another new digital camera featuring 10 custom designs on the outside. The camera is called the Lumix XS1.

The camera boasts a thin profile that Panasonic claims is the world’s thinnest for a camera featuring a 5x retractable zoom lens and optical image stabilization. The camera has a 24 mm ultra-wide-angle lens and has 13 in-camera creative effects. Panasonic also integrates its Mega Optical Image Stabilizer technology into the camera to keep your images blur free.

The XS1 offers 16.1-megapixel resolution and has an aperture range of F2.8-6.9. The camera’s focal length is equivalent to 24-120 mm in 35mm camera. It also supports the recording of HD resolution video.

Bursts can be shot in high-speed mode and rated 10 frames per second at reduced resolution. The camera is also now available with 10 different custom designs on the outside of the camera body. It offers designs like various animal skins, camouflage, flowers, and several others. The camera can be ordered right now in any of the 10 new designs, but Panasonic didn’t offer the official pricing details.
