Sony PS4 Hits 6 Million Units Sold
Posted in: Today's ChiliSony has announced another milestone for the PS4 game console. The company has revealed that the console has now reached the 6 million units sold mark. This achievement comes days after the console launched in Japan to very strong sales for the opening weekend. As of early February, the PS4 had sold 5.3 million units, so sales continue to grow quickly for the console.
Sony is also offering up a few more stats about the PS4 console and its features. According to the company, there have been over 3.6 million live broadcasts and over 56 million spectate sessions on the PS4. Those live broadcasts and spectate sessions were done via Twitch and Ustream.
Sony says that since January 1, 2014, PS4 users have accounted for 20% of daily broadcasts on Twitch. PS4 gamers have also hit the Share button on the controller for the console over 100 million times. The Share button allows users to share their content on Facebook and Twitter.
Sony has today announced that HBO Go will land on the PS3 later today, with PS4 integration in the pipeline.
This will allow PlayStation 3 owners to access all of HBO’s content, including TV series, movies, etc. as long as they already have an HBO subscription with their cable providers. Or a friend with an HBO subscription. Read More

Fan Gives Himself PlayStation Platinum Trophy Replica: I’d Like to Thank Myself…
Posted in: Today's ChiliAvid PlayStation gamer Blackangel887462 loves to collect Platinum trophies, a virtual achievement awarded for obtaining all of the lower tier – Bronze, Silver and Gold trophies – achievements in a PlayStation game. To celebrate his 500th Platinum trophy he commissioned a replica of the award.
Even though it’s not made of platinum, the trophy still cost Blackangel887462 quite a bit of change. He won’t say the exact amount, only that the trophy turned out to be more expensive than four DualShock 4 controllers, which more or less adds up to $240 (USD).
500 completed games and a real Platinum trophy? You have a lot to live up to Blackangel887463.

We’ve featured some vinyl decals that will make your PS4 console look like it’s made from wood, but now you can actually wrap your shiny new console in real wood.
A company in Germany called Balolo has released a stick-on cover for the PS4 that’s actually cut from genuine hardwood. You can mix and match from bamboo, cherry, walnut or zebrawood to make your console look just that much more awesome.
Each piece is made from laser-cut wood veneers, with a durable adhesive on back. What isn’t clear is how well the adhesive and wood holds up to the heat the console puts out over time, or if it affects the thermal properties of the PS4 at all. Still, it sure looks cool and I’m thinking about redoing mine after seeing these.
The kit sells for €149.90 (~$205 USD), or you can purchase a console with the wood facade already applied for €599.90 (~$829 USD). Here in the States it’s a much better deal to just buy a $400 PS4 and then install the wood grain yourself. Now about that controller…
