You’re heading to the store to get a PS4 right now, and need to know which games to get. (Keep your eyes on the road, please!) Or you’re home, all set up, realizing you want more stuff to play. Or maybe you’re suiting up for a battle in the console war, applying your facepaint and trying to remember which games will best help you make the argument for Sony’s new console. We are here to help.
Judging by the comments left by Codemasters community team on their official blog, it seems like they’re gearing up to make announcements this week. Lee Williams, a community manager, teased that “developers are getting builds ready, the PR guys are preparing PR stuff and the Community Team are busy teasing something…” The developer has been hinting at new titles quite a lot recently without actually jumping into specifics, it’s likely that later this week it may finally have something good to unveil.
Part of the announcement could be related to new Codemasters titles for next generation consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Possible announcements include the new F1 title, as well as a new title for the DiRT franchise. Codemasters may even announce a new GRID title if its feeling too generous. These are merely presumptions, the developer hasn’t confirmed as yet when it may or may not announce.
As far as the new F1 title is concerned, previous rumors suggest that Codemasters will release the game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well. It may very well be the last Formula 1 title for previous generation consoles before the developer shifts its focus entirely to next-gen releases only. It is unclear right now if new GRID and DiRT titles will also be compatible with previous-gen consoles. The community team hasn’t provided an exact date on which we can expect the announcements. We’ll keep an eye out for you.
