Megaman has firm a place in the hearts of many, the evidence of which is blatant in the runaway success of its descendant — Mighty No. 9′s — Kickstarter campaign. The funding goal was ambitious, seeking millions, yet saw its milestones reached at a clipped rate, such as the unlocking of PS3, Xbox 360, and […]
We heard rumors of Sony possibly considering bundling the PlayStation 4 along with the PlayStation Vita sometime later this year for roughly $500. Shortly after that rumor surfaced, Sony Computer Entertainment’s UK boss Fergal Gara said there weren’t any plans to bring both devices together in one bundle. Now it looks like ole Gara is changing his tune a bit as he now says Sony is reconsidering a PlayStation 4 bundled with a PlayStation Vita following positive consumer reaction from this year’s Gamescom. The latest battle in the console wars is definitely brewing. With both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One set to launch later this year, the fight is on to win market share in the next generation console wars. The Xbox 360 typically sold better than the PlayStation 3 but that might not be the […]
As Microsoft gears up for a rockstar-like world tour of its latest flagship gaming product Xbox One, Rockstar North has dropped a bombshell that has its doggedly loyal fan base foaming at the mouth. In a blog post last week, the game development giant confirmed that its highly anticipated blockbuster Grand Theft Auto Online will […]
Reuters and Ipsos surveyed 1,297 people online last week and found that 26 percent of them were likely to purchase the Sony PlayStation 4 over the Xbox One. Out of the 1,297 people surveyed, 15 percent said that they would go for Microsoft’s console. Only 3 percent of the people surveyed currently play games on the Wii U, whereas 20 percent each were with the Xbox 360 and PC while 18 percent were on Sony’s PlayStation 3. Both next generation consoles are going to be released in the U.S., and select international markets, this November, right around the time of the holiday shopping season boom.
A poll conducted between September 23rd and September 27th revealed that 41 percent of the 408 people below the age of 40 polled were for the PS4, while 27 percent were tilting towards the Xbox One. Obviously these numbers aren’t enough to form a judgement right now about the relative success and failure of each console. There has been much debate over Xbox One vs PlayStation 4, and both sides present tough arguments. Sony did pull one up on Microsoft as it announced that it has received more than one million pre-orders for the PS4, while Microsoft has only said that pre-orders for its latest console have exceeded that of the Xbox 360, which was first released nearly eight years ago. We’ll only know for sure where consumer demand stands once both consoles hit the market.

Sony executive Fergal Gara assures everyone that there are “big innovations in the PS4 to make it more attractive and more easy gamer wise to want to download.”
Gara acknowledges the fact that gamers have faced these issues on the PS3 with PlayStation Network and that Sony could do better in this particular area. One PS4 innovation he talked about is the Play as you Download functionality, through which certain games will be playable even if they’ve not been fully downloaded. Gara admits that downloading games is still a tedious process, and says that Sony has done “a lot of work on pre-delivering files.” “It’s not perfect, It’s not seamless,” he says. The PlayStation 4 will be released in the U.S. and several select markets on November 15th.
