Sony PlayStation 4 Expected To Have 33 Titles By End Of The Year

Sony PlayStation 4 Expected To Have 33 Titles By End Of The YearOne of the downsides to adopting a brand new console upon its launch is that there will not be as many games to choose from at the start. This is only natural and we expect the same case to apply to both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One, although the good news for PlayStation 4 would-be owners is that Sony has announced that they expect to have about 33 games to choose from by the end of December. Granted this pales in comparison to the library of games available for the PlayStation 3, but we guess it’s a start and we’re sure that there are more titles to come in the future.

Some of the games will be by Sony, and other titles will be by third-party developers. Some of the games are also expected to be released on Blu-ray, while other titles will only be available as digital-only titles. As it stands Sony claims that there are more than 180 games in development for the PlayStation 4, so we expect that this 33 will only be the tip of the iceberg. If you’d like to check out the list of games that should be arriving by the end of the year, hit up Sony’s PlayStation blog for the details. In the meantime the Sony PlayStation 4 console is expected to see a release on the 15th of November.

PS4 November 15th Release Date Confirmed

PS4 November 15th Release Date Confirmed

After months of speculation regarding its release date, Sony today finally announced the confirmed and official PS4 launch date. Sony’s next generation console will be launched in North America on November 15th for $399. In Europe the console launches on November 29th. The announcement was made today by Sony at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany.

Sony says that the console will initially be launched in 32 countries in time for the holiday season. Though it hasn’t provided concrete dates for other markets. The company also mentioned that more than 1,000,000 pre-orders have already been placed for its next generation console. Quite a lot of dates were thrown around in the past couple of weeks. It was believed that Sony might release PS4 on November 26th. One European retailer came pretty close to the actual release date. A Media Markt poster in Amsterdam suggested that November 13th will be the PS4 release date. Demand for this console is certainly high, we reported back in June that Amazon had already sold out of “launch edition” pre-orders. Customers who have signed up for this edition will receive the console on the day Sony starts releasing it, which we now know is November 15th. Mark your calendars!
