Pokemon Fans In Japan Will Get Two Characters For Watching The Movie

We know that Pokemon is a pretty big deal in Japan. Not only do they have Pokemon-themed airplanes, they also have Pokemon Centers, and recently it was revealed that by attending a Japanese football match, attendees had the chance of winning themselves a limited edition Pokemon-themed 3DS XL.

Well it looks like the Pokemon promotions are set to continue because in conjunction with Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, it looks like moviegoers will be able to redeem themselves a couple of Pokemon characters that they can add to their Pokemon X and Y collection.

The first Pokemon that gamers can redeem would be Diancie, for obvious reasons. The Diancie Pokemon will be at level 50 and will come with the Diamond Storm, reflect, Moonblast, and Return set of moves. The next character, Darkrai, will be available to moviegoers who book tickets in advance for the movie.

The Darkrai character will come with its own set of moves that includes Dark Void, Dark Pulse, Phantom Force, and Dream Eater. Unfortunately there was no mention as to whether a similar promotion will be offered to Pokemon gamers in other parts of the world, but in the meantime it looks like it will be a Japan-exclusive.

Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction is currently pegged for a release in Japan’s cinemas on the 19th of July.

Win A Limited Edition Pokémon-Themed 3DS XL By Attending A Japanese Football Match

Win A Limited Edition Pokémon Themed 3DS XL By Attending A Japanese Football MatchNintendo of Japan has certainly pioneered the art of selling the very same hardware over and over again to the same customer just because it comes in a special limited edition design from time to time. And by design, I do not mean a change in the hardware mould, but rather, new livery or color has been introduced. Well, we have seen our fair share of different Nintendo 3DS XL versions in the past, and here we are now with the chance to pick up a limited edition Pokémon-themed 3DS XL, where you can do so simply by attending a football match in Japan.

Do bear in mind that football here refers to soccer as understood by those of us living in the US. Nintendo is the one behind this opportunity for fans to pick up one of three limited edition Pokémon-themed 3DS XL systems at Yokohama F. Marinos, Urawa Red Diamonds, and FC Tokyo J-League matches, and depending on the number of systems made available, that will strictly be based on the home side’s score.

Football is not a high scoring game, but it is nevertheless exciting as evident by those last minute exploits, or even brilliant individual runs. Each of the 3DS XL system will feature identical Pokémon artwork with the respective club name of the home side on the base. Of course these will be extremely rare in due time, and ought to be able to fetch a handsome price in online auction sites.

Pokemon And Zelda Monopoly Box Art Spotted Online

Pokemon And Zelda Monopoly Box Art Spotted OnlineEarlier in March during the Toy Fair, it was revealed that both the Pokemon and The Legend of Zelda franchise would be getting the Monopoly treatment, meaning that if you love Monopoly and you love either (or both) titles, it would be like the perfect marriage and a great way to get your friends together for some old fashion board games.

Now thanks to a listing by Southern Hobby Supply, the box art for both games have since been revealed and we have to say that it looks pretty good so far! As you can see on the image’s watermark, it has been marked as prototype which means that there is a chance that the artwork could change before its release which is currently pegged for the 21st of August.

Unfortunately apart from the box art, the interior of the box was not shown off, meaning that we still have no idea on what the design of the board could look like, or how the Pokemon and Zelda-themed board pieces would look like in real life either (we’re hoping that it would be really cool though).

However apart from the Pokemon and Zelda-themed locations and board pieces, we can only assume that the rules of the game will remain the same, but will just get an update/twist on it looks, but at the same time we reckon that Pokemon and Zelda fans/collectors out there would love to get their hands on it anyway.
