Pokémon & Heroines T-shirts: PokéPinups

Many Pokémon have an affinity to natural elements, a trope that they share with other superheroes. Singapore-based shirt designer Barefists figured it would be nice to mashup the critters to famous heroines that share their elemental strengths in what he’s calling PokePinups.

Barefists currently has four PokePinups designs: Poison Ivy riding a Venusaur, Danaerys with three Charmanders, the Waterbender Katara on a Blastoise and the X-man Storm with Pikachu.

You can get the t-shirts from Barefists’ shop Xmashed Gear for about $22 (USD) each, but if you can get them for just $14 each, $30 for two or $55 for all four plus four A3 prints on his Indiegogo fundraiser. He’s planning to make more PokePinups in the future, but I hope that doesn’t depend on the success of his fundraiser because he’s still quite a ways from hitting his goal of $2,800.

With hundreds of Pokémon this series has a lot of potential. You can have Carrie and Mew, Chell and Abra, Sasha Blouse and Snorlax… man I need to play Pokémon X/Y. I’m way behind on Pokémon.

Pokemon X And Y Sells 2 Million Copies In Two Days

Pokemon X And Y Sells 2 Million Copies In Two Days

Pokemon X & Y was released over the weekend on October 12 globally. As a result, many dormant Pokemon trainers have once again picked up their Nintendo handheld in order to train their Pokemon to battle one another until we get a screaming Charmander. Pokemon has always been a very big game series for Nintendo, which is why we’re not completely surprised to hear the company has sold over 4 million units of both Pokemon X and Pokemon Y in its first two days of being available. Pokemon X And Pokemon Y Has Game-Breaking Save Bug (Rumor)

Pokemon X And Pokemon Y Has Game Breaking Save Bug (Rumor)It is important to make sure that games are tested thoroughly before they are released so that the end user, a gamer in this case, would not have many (or any) issues with it. Of course, from time to time, there are some games that do end up horribly wrong for the gamer just like how GTA Online saw characters go missing permanently, which has led to Rockstar compensating such gamers with up to $500,000 in GTA currency. Well, one of the hottest and most popular game franchises to date, Pokemon, experienced a worldwide launch over the weekend for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, which means all should be hunky dory. Apparently, it is not, as some gamers found a save bug in both titles that would render the game unplayable.

That happens when you decide to save your game in the outskirts of Lumiose City, at least according to a “small number” of Pokemon X and Y gamers as reported by VentureBeat. This particular bug is said to have caused the game to freeze when “saving in the outside streets area of Lumiose City”, requiring gamers to resort to a hard reset of the Nintendo 3DS. However, while that might be the solution for most other games freezing, resetting the console does not seem to work as the game allegedly freezes right after the save is reloaded. Nintendo has remained mum on the situation at the moment, so you know what NOT to do whenever you are outside of Lumiose City now.

Star Wars Meat Sculptures: A Long Time Ago, on a Grill Far, Far Away

Ground meat. It’s what’s for dinner. It’s not only tasty, but also highly sculptable. Is that a word? Well, it is now. Just look at that MEAT2-D2, there;s a Death Star and a TIE Fighter too. I hope it’s low in fat. Not because of any diet that I’m on, but because I want to cook this stuff and not have it shrink to like 2-inches-tall.

These amusing meat sculptures come from Epic Grinds who creates movie and video game sculptures out of meat. Yes, that’s a thing. So…meet this meat. Do you like each other? Good. Now eat!

Poké Ball Engagement Ring: You Can’t Catch Them All, but You Can Catch One

So you have been trying to catch all of the Pokémon you can, but you have found one that is that special someone. What better way to say, “I choose you!” then to give them this Poké Ball engagement ring? This is the height of class for Pokémon fans who want to end the chase and settle down.

    pokeball ringmagnify

This Pokéball engagement ring was designed by jeweler Arts & Gems. It is the Pokémon trainer’s ring.

It has a ruby and cubic zirconium Pokéball as the center stone with green gems on either side to represent health at the beginning of a battle. Sadly for all of you Poké-nerds this is just a concept, but the artist says that due to demand they will be producing it soon.

Let’s face it you can’t catch them all. For one thing they just keep creating new Pokémon and upping the price of merchandise. It’s better just to catch one very special Pokémon and stick with it.

Child’s Tombstone Shows Him Playing Pokémon

Redditor Paramorgue found an extraordinary tombstone in his hometown in Lund, Sweden. He says it’s dedicated to a boy who died when he was just five years old. The statue immortalizes the child enjoying perhaps what was one of his favorite pastimes: playing Pokémon.

Pokemon’s Graphical Evolution Depicted In A Cleverly Composed Image

Pokemon’s Graphical Evolution Depicted In A Cleverly Composed ImageTime sure passes by when you are having fun, and has it been that long since the Pokemon revolution hit the video game market? Nintendo must have made quite an impressive bundle via the Pokemon franchise over the years – running in its 17th year at the moment in fact, with its humble beginnings on the Nintendo Game Boy that took the world by storm. Well, what you see above is a comparison image which reminds you of the title’s early days, where other parts of the image are made up of different Pokemon versions, right up to the present day. Definitely worth checking out if you are a huge Pokemon fan for sure.

The image that you see above was posted on Twitter by user @Ugusyan, and needless to say, it has proven to be quite a hot topic after being retweeted across the social media site for over 21,000 times, with no sight of it stopping at any time soon. Just for the curious who are too lazy to do their homework, the image depicts an in-game map and sprites from Generation I all the way to Generation V, with this coming October marking the beginning of Generation VI as Pokemon X and Pokemon Y arrive on the scene.
