Nikon Wins Injunction Against The Polaroid iM1836

Nikon Wins Injunction Against The Polaroid iM1836Earlier this year, Polaroid unveiled a mirrorless camera of its own in the form of the Polaroid iM1836 which was then released back in October. However it seems that Nikon did not take too kindly to the camera, and while it is understandable given that both companies are competing in the camera market, we can see why Nikon would be a bit peeved, especially since the Polaroid iM1836 resembled the Nikon 1 lineup of mirrorless cameras in terms of design, which led to Nikon suing Sakar, the company behind the Polaroid iM1836, over patent infringement.

Now according to the court’s ruling, they have ruled in Nikon’s favor and have since issued a consent injunction, with both parties agreeing that, “Sakar will no longer manufacture, import, advertise, promote, offer for sale, sell, or ship the Polaroid iM1836 digital camera in its present configuration.” This comes after Nikon had reportedly tried to reach an amicable settlement with Sakar, but failed to do so. So if you were after the Polaroid iM1836, we guess you can still try some retailers who might still have it in stock, otherwise you’d be flat out of luck. What do you guys think? Is this injunction a rightly deserved one? Or do you think that Sakar has nothing to be guilty about?

Polaroid’s First Camera Caused Black Friday Pandemonium 65 Years Ago

Polaroid's First Camera Caused Black Friday Pandemonium 65 Years Ago

Polaroid is a non-entity these days, but instant photography lives on in the digital photos we produce at dazzling speeds. We’re addicted, and that’s what made Polaroid the hottest tech company in the world when its first blockbuster consumer product, the Model 95 Land Camera, went on sale. That was 65 years ago on Black Friday, November 26th, 1948.

Impossible Instant Lab is the modern day Polaroid instant photo

impossible-instant-labPhoto booths at weddings seem to be one part that is eternally popular, and different couples do it differently. Some leave an instant camera there for folks to shoot a photo and print it out on the spot, while others prefer to have a professional photographer capture the couples there (with their props) and print it out using a photo printer tucked away in a corner somewhere. I suppose the advent of technology makes things easier, as with the case of the £240 Impossible Instant Lab.

After all, smartphone cameras have gotten more and more impressive in their photo taking capabilities over the years, so much so that they have far outstripped the quality of entry level digital cameras of yesterday. With the Impossible Instant Lab, you will be able to turn those photos stored on your iPhone into an actual photo, and the entire shebang is extremely easy to use, printing out photos in a matter of seconds. From there, you will just need to wait for a little while and see these photos develop in the palm of your hand. Using it is a no-brainer, just select a photo on your iPhone, place the handset on the cradle, and press the eject button; and you’re good to go.

Polaroid Kids Tablet 2 features 8 GB of storage and 7-inch display

Polaroid has unveiled its latest tablet aimed specifically at children and it’s a refreshed version of the original Polaroid Kids Tablet. Polaroid Kids Tablet 2 Announced

Polaroid Kids Tablet 2 AnnouncedWhen the name Polaroid is mention, there is a good chance that you are probably thinking about the company’s camera products, and not necessarily smartphones or tablets, right? Well the company has dabbled in Android in the past with their Android-powered cameras, like the Polaroid iM1836, but now it looks like the company will be diving into the tablet market for kids (again) as well with the recently announced, and rather uninspiring, Kids Tablet 2, the successor to the original Kids Tablet that debuted at CES 2013 earlier this year.

Given that this is a tablet designed for children in mind, the hardware on this device is hardly the most stellar. It will feature a 7” 1024×600 display, a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD, and will run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It will also feature a front-facing camera. The tablet will also come bundled with features designed for kids in mind, such as over 70 ebooks and apps worth at least $100 in value, and will feature publications from Disney, Marvel, and Cartoon Network. It will also feature bumpers along the side of tablet that should make it a bit more durable, and will also come with parental controls to allow parents to determine what sort of content their children will have access to. The Kids Tablet 2 is priced at $149 and will be available for purchase via Toys R Us.

Polaroid Toilet Paper Holder Captures Memories You Don't Want To Keep
