Porsche’s New Pens Extend and Retract Their Tips With a Simple Shake

Porsche's New Pens Extend and Retract Their Tips With a Simple Shake

They’re not designed for those with emphatic penmanship, but Porsche Design’s lovely new Shake Pens will definitely appeal to those who like a perfect balance of form and function. Sure, the two designs might be a little on the chunky side, but that’s easy to forgive, since they house a mechanism that allows their ballpoint tips to retract and extend with a simple shake of the wrist.

Porsche Design Re-Imagines The BlackBerry Z10 Costing $2,400

If there’s one thing the BlackBerry Z10 doesn’t need, it’s an extremely expensive version of their popular BlackBerry 10 smartphone, but that’s exactly what BlackBerry is announcing today as they have teamed up with Porsche Design to come up with the P’9982.

The P’9982 is Porsche Design’s take on the BlackBerry Z10 as it is crafted from stainless steel and Italian leather as well as a unique BBM PIN that helps “instantly recognize” its users. The Porsche Design-inspired BlackBerry Z10 also features more internal storage as owners of the smartphone can expect a whopping 64GB of internal storage, although its other specs remain the same: 1280 x 768 display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM all running on BlackBerry 10.

The P’9982 also allows its users to customize the Italian leach backs of the device in a number of colors, although at the time of this writing, BlackBerry didn’t disclose what these would look like nor their pricing and availability.

Now for the part we’re sure you’ve been wondering. How much is it? Well – expect to cough up “around £1,500” for the P’9982, which converts to $2,400. We enjoyed our time with the BlackBerry Z10, but considering how BlackBerry has been doing these days since its launch and the Q10, we have a feeling buying a $2,400 Z10 might be out of the question for most of our readers.

This Pedal-less Porsche Bicycle Will Be the Talk of the Cul-de-Sac

Apparently, Volkswagen has realized that kids who ride Porsches grow up to be adults who buy and drive Porsches. Hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder beats Nordschleife track record by miles (actually, 14 seconds)

Hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder sets Nurburgring lap record

Porsche’s hybrid 918 Spyder did double duty this week, making its first public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show and setting a world record at Nürburgring’s grueling Nordschleife circuit. Stuttgart’s pride burned around the North Loop at an average of 112MPH to finish the circuit in 6:57, a full 14 seconds faster than the previous record holder: the gas-burning Dodge Viper ACR. Check out the video after the break and you’ll discover that this Spyder is throaty — especially compared to those purely electric (and rather screechy) Formula E racers.
