Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Could Arrive On The Xbox One With Additional Goodies In Tow

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Could Arrive On The Xbox One With Additional Goodies In TowAre you ready to meet up head to head with the next generation of consoles? Let us assume that you already have the PS4 in your living room (being the current showcase champion), you must surely be looking forward to the introduction of the Xbox One from Microsoft later this weekend. Regardless of which particular console that you settle for, you know for sure that next generation gaming is here to stay. In fact, there are rumors going around that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition could be heading for the PS4 as well as Xbox One, especially when listings of it has been spotted online over on Amazon.it (Amazon Italy) as we reported on earlier today.

Needless to say, this particular listing does not arrive with a product image, so a lot of it still hangs in the air, but there is a whole host of other information which should make Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition possible for both next generation consoles. If this particular rumor pans out to be true, then the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is tipped for a rollout later next January 24, 2014, for the Sony PS4, quoting a “next generation platform” as the other outlet – which would more or less mean the Xbox One. It does seem as though this version will arrive with the game in its entirety, a DLC, Amazon.com pre-order content, as well as an exclusive art book – making this somewhat a Game of the Year version, and then some.

Mistreated Foxconn Interns Claim To Have Sabotaged The Sony PS4 [Rumor]

Mistreated Foxconn Interns Claim To Have Sabotaged The Sony PS4 [Rumor]Foxconn has had a pretty bad rep when it comes to how they treat their workers, and last we heard they got into a spot of trouble when it was discovered that they had been hiring underage workers. Well it turns out that what goes around comes back around, as a new forum thread over at IGN has been opened for the Xi’an Technological University North Institute, where an alleged student made claims that due to Foxconn and their university forcing them to work at the factory, they decided to sabotage some of Foxconn’s products in the process, with the Sony PlayStation 4 being one of them.

According to the student’s post, “Since Foxconn are not treating us well, we will not treat the PS4 console well. The PS4 console we assemble can be turned on at best.” However another post surfaced claiming that the students were barely 1/10th of the workers at Foxconn, so they can hardly be blamed for any of the PS4’s faults. Since none of this can actually be verified, take with a grain of salt for now, but if anything it certainly seems to lineup with the various reports of the PS4’s “blue light of death” that have been making their rounds on the internet. What do you guys think? Is this a coincidence, or is someone merely trying to capitalize on the reports by creating this rumor?

Amazon Italy Lists Mysterious Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Title For PS4

Amazon Italy Lists Mysterious Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Title For PS4When the rebooted Tomb Raider game was officially launched, the game made its way onto consoles such as the Xbox 360, the Sony PlayStation 3, and the PC. Unfortunately there was no mention as to whether the game would be arriving for next-gen consoles, although thanks to a listing by Amazon Italy, a certain Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition has made its way online. Unfortunately there were no images accompanying the listing, but assuming Amazon’s listing is accurate, we can expect the game to see a release come 24th January 2014. The listing also shows that the game will be making its way onto the PlayStation 4 and another console, which we can only assume is the Xbox One since it was confirmed that the game would not be arriving on the Wii U.

The reboot was announced several years ago and was originally expected to see a launch in 2012, especially after its Alpha announcement early in the year where the developers were confident that they would be able to stick to their 2012 schedule. Unfortunately the game was delayed and subsequently released in 2013. So far based on reviews, many praised the reboot and have given it pretty high scores. In any case if you were hoping to play the game on your new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, stay tuned for more details.

Over the weekend a small but significant number of PlayStation 4 users reported an issue which had the system stuck on the “blinking blue light” part of the console’s startup sequence. PlayStation 4 Foxconn sabotage rumors continue swirling

Sony recently launched the PlayStation 4 in North America. Console sales were described as being “very strong” and are said to have topped the one million milestone. But while those two pieces would suggest a smooth launch, there were some issues. Sony released a zero-day software update and that annoyance hit along with some bricked […]

Sony mulled an all-touch PS4 controller before settling on the DualShock 4

    Sony DualShock 4

The PlayStation 4’s DualShock 4 controller may seem like the logical evolution of Sony’s gamepad design, but we now know that it wasn’t always destined to be that way. Product manager Toshimasa Aoki tells VentureBeat that the company threw out all the rules during the early design phase, and had tested both all-touchscreen gamepads as well as one where a touchpad could move to different locations. The PlayStation team had also considered abandoning its signature bottom-mounted analog sticks in favor of moving them up top, much like Nintendo’s Wii U Pro Controller. However, feedback pushed Sony to a more conservative layout — many early PS4 game developers were worried that a new control scheme would break their software design. While it’s unfortunate that Sony had to restrain its creative impulses, we suspect that many gamers are happy with the end result.

Xbox One vs. the PlayStation 4: A battle over services, not chips

DNP Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 whats the difference, anyway

If you start counting from the Magnavox Odyssey, we’ve been playing console games for seven generations now. Yes, it’s crazy to think of, but it’s even more alarming to realize that the industry has been in an all-out “war” since generation three. For better or worse, competition became a part of the hardware cycle. The players (you know, Sega, Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft) have changed several times through the years, but until recently, the game hasn’t — the console wars were fought over who had more bits, what had the most RAM and how fast a machine could render frames. Now, as we kick off generation eight, we’re seeing a very different kind of contest.

We’re not saying that hardware specifications don’t matter — they absolutely do — but this time, the two leading armies are packing painfully similar heat. On paper, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 really aren’t that different. So, what’s going to win the war? Software, services and brand.

Bricked Sony PS4 Replacement Units Not Available For The Next Few Months

Bricked Sony PS4 Replacement Units Not Available For The Next Few MonthsBad news Sony PlayStation 4 gamers, if you were hoping to get a replacement unit for your bricked console, you could be in for quite a wait. This is according to reports where some users have claimed that Sony informed them that they can only expect their replacement units sometime in February of next year, while Amazon has informed their customers that their replacement units might arrive in January, which is still a fair wait but we guess is still a bit better.

Despite the Sony PlayStation 4 going on to sell 1 million units in 24 hours, reports of the device bricking surfaced even before the console was officially released from those who got their hands on early copies of the console. Sony claimed that only a small percentage were affected and were looking into the issue, but it seems that now that the console has launched, we are starting to hear more about the now-dreaded “blue light of death”, whose pulsing glow is an indication of the console failing to startup properly.

We have also heard reports of login errors, adding to the list of issues early adopters are facing with their units. It does not bode well for Sony if this becomes a widespread issue and we can only hope Microsoft’s launch goes a lot smoother. In the meantime, any of our readers with PlayStation 4 consoles experience any of the issues mentioned above?
