Sony Wants To Sell 3 Million PS4 Units Globally By Year-End

Sony Wants To Sell 3 Million PS4 Units Globally By Year End

Back in September, Sony had said they plan on selling a total of 5 million PlayStation 4 consoles by the end of its fiscal year, which is a number we could certainly see it doing, as long as the stars align just right. It seems the company has plans equally as big for this year as they are saying they’d like to sell a total of 3 million units of its PlayStation 4 worldwide by the end of this year. (more…)

Sony Won’t Ban PS4 Consoles That Ship Ahead Of Schedule

Sony Wont Ban PS4 Consoles That Ship Ahead Of Schedule

Its not entirely impossible for one of this year’s hotly anticipated products to ship ahead of schedule. Only recently we saw a few Xbox One consoles being delivered to customers ahead of the launch on November 22nd. While Christmas came early for those customers, Microsoft didn’t let the fun last too long as it temporarily banned those consoles. So what would Sony do if a PS4 was accidently shipped prior to its release date? It won’t ban the console, confirms Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios at Sony.

The PS4 launches November 15th in the U.S. and on November 29th in Europe. Yoshida confirmed through Twitter, in a response to a query, that Sony won’t ban any PS4 console that’s shipped ahead of schedule. So while this clarification has already been made, all anxious PS4 customers can now keep their fingers crossed and hope that their retailer slips up. Even if the console arrives early for someone, they’ll still have to install the 300MB “day one” software update to enable majority of the console’s features. If you’re waiting on a PS4 to prematurely ship so that at least an unboxing video can find its way online, don’t look any further, Sony has posted the mother of all PS4 unboxing videos already.

Official PlayStation 4 unboxing handled delicately by Sony

This week the folks at Sony are once again proving that they’ll not be letting the “firsts” of the PlayStation 4 presentation fall into the wrong hands with an original Official PS4 Unboxing video. They’ve made an especially short affair of it all, emphasizing the fact that the machine itself is exceedingly simple. This hardware […]

Sony’s PS4 Unboxing Video Trumps All Other Unboxing Videos Ever Made

We’re just four days away from the release of the PlayStation 4, which will usher in the next generation of video gaming, although some Wii U owners will debate their console was really the one to usher in the next generation of games. Either way, the PlayStation 4 is getting ready to be released later this week, so Sony thought you should know what exactly is in the box, but seeing how this is quite the momentous occasion, they unbox the console in a completely unique way. Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls To Run At 1080p, 60fps On The PS4

Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls To Run At 1080p, 60fps On The PS4It seems that games made for Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 will have native Full HD 1080p support, and that seems to be the case for Blizzard’s Diablo 3 which will be making its way onto the PlayStation 4 console come 2014. This was confirmed by Blizzard themselves at BlizzCon 2013, where the game’s director, Josh Mosqueira revealed that the game’s expansion, Reaper of Souls, would run at 1080p Full HD resolution at 60fps. Mosqueira also confirmed that those who are currently playing the PlayStation 3 version of the game will be able to transfer their characters and progress from the PS3 console onto the PS4 console, if they were to switch consoles later on.

However he was unable to confirm or specify if gamers would receive a discount if they were to get Diablo 3 for the PS4 if they had already bought the game for the PS3, and stated that they were still figuring it out as to how they might be able to distribute the Reaper of Souls expansion for the PlayStation 4 console. What do you guys think? Should Diablo 3 for the PS4 be made a free download if a PS3 version had already been bought?

PS4 Remote Play For Diablo 3 Unlikely Due To PS Vita’s Screen Size

PS4 Remote Play For Diablo 3 Unlikely Due To PS Vitas Screen SizeAt the moment Blizzard’s Diablo 3 is playable, as far as consoles are concerned, on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, but is expected to make its way onto next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 come 2014. Not only is this great news for PS4 gamers, but given the fact that the Sony PlayStation 4 console will support remote streaming onto devices like the PS Vita, essentially allowing gamers to take the game mobile, wouldn’t this be a pretty awesome feature for Diablo 3? Unfortunately that will not be happening, at least according to the game’s senior level designer, Matthew Berger.

According to Berger, “The Vita is an amazing piece of kit, but the screen is still smaller,” he said. “And when you look at–and also it has its own aspect ratio–and when you look at Diablo III, there’s a lot happening on-screen already. You get surrounded by your enemies, lots of effects flying off in every direction. The inventory can be pretty complicated to navigate sometimes when you have lots of items.” While it seems like a “no” for now, Berger did state that Remote Play is something that the company is still thinking about, but until Blizzard says otherwise, try not to get your hopes up just yet. What do you guys think? Any would-be PS4 gamers love the idea of being able to stream Diablo 3 on their PS Vita consoles

    Xbox One Won’t Initially Support 3D Blu-rays

Xbox One Wont Initially Support 3D Blu rays

November is finally here and enthusiastic gamers around the world are waiting on Microsoft to release its next generation console, the Xbox One. Much has already been written and read about the console, the hype has certainly not died down up till now. This is the first console from Microsoft to have a Blu-ray player built-in, but its going to be of no use to people who want to play 3D Blu-rays, at least initially. Microsoft has confirmed to CNET that at launch, the console is not going to support 3D Blu-ray disc playback.

Though Microsoft hasn’t said if its never going to add this feature. There exists the possibility that support for 3D Blu-ray playback may be added in the future. Sony allows both 3D games and 3D Blu-ray movies on the PS3, but it hasn’t clarified as yet if the PS4 is able to do this as well. Sony’s official FAQ page for the PS4 says that the console is capable of supporting 3D games, but no such titles are available at launch. Its too soon to say how much time Microsoft will take before finally allowing the playback of 3D Blu-rays on the Xbox One. The Xbox One launches November 22nd in the U.S.
