PlayStation 4 In Brazil Will Cost $1,850

PlayStation 4 In Brazil Will Cost $1,850For those living in North America, Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 will cost $399 which we’re sure is still expensive for some, but that pales in comparison to what the folks in Argentina are paying which after conversion would cost them roughly $1,100. Well it seems that you no longer need to feel bad for your friends in Argentina because it looks like over in Brazil, they have it worse. The console is expected to see a release in Brazil towards the end of November and it is expected to come with a price tag of R$3,999, which after conversion would mean that Brazilians would be paying the equivalent of $1,850 for a brand new PlayStation 4 console!

Yup that’s the price tag that they’d have to pay which is also about 4 times as much as the price in the US! Speaking to the folks at G1, Sony Brazil explained the reason behind the price, claiming that the cost of the console in Brazil includes the import fees and taxes, which amount to about $1,292, leaving the remainder as the price of the console itself. As for PS4 games, Brazilian gamers will have to fork out R$179, which is about $80 per game. It is still more expensive compared to the US, but given how much the console costs, it does seem somewhat reasonable. Ouch.

PS4 User Interface And Features Leaked In Video

For those of us living in Europe as well as the US, it pays to be patient as the PS4 and Xbox One are tipped to arrive next month, which frankly, is not too far away considering just how fast time seems to fly these days. Well, we do know that a demonstration pod of the Sony PS4 has already been spotted, while the retail packaging of this next generation console, too, has been revealed alongside a slew of accessories. What other things can we learn about the Sony PS4 then? Apparently, a video has leaked out that reveals the features as well as user interface of the PS4 console.

This leaked video was recorded in French, where it will be accompanied by commentary from the uploader, with some of the features outlined including Trophies, PSN Store, Profiles, Messages, and the Friends list among others. I suppose you will gain a whole lot more out of this particular video if the French language is your strong suit, not to mention that the video is rather lengthy so there might be a whole lot more detail that has yet to be gleaned by a non-French speaking person like me. Would you get one, or both next generation video game consoles?

Will Watch Dogs Delay Jeopardize PS4/XB1 Bundle Pre-Orders?

Will Watch Dogs Delay Jeopardize PS4/XB1 Bundle Pre Orders? As you may recall from our E3 2013 coverage, Watchdogs was one of the best on-stage demo and game trailer of the show. The concept of using computer hacking in addition of traditional weapons and fights was interesting and got people excited. The anticipation was high enough to get Sony and Microsoft working on their launch bundles (special editions) that included the game.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has since confirmed that the game will come out in “Spring 2014”, which means that it will be a good 6-months late (the fact that trailer was not rendered in real-time should have been a warning sign). Now the question is whether or not those who have pre-ordered their console as part of a Watch Dogs Bundle will receive their next-gen PS4/Xbox One in time for the holidays. There is clearly enough reasons to get anxious. (more…)

PS4 Retail Packaging Revealed Along With Its Accessories

PS4 Retail Packaging Revealed Along With Its Accessories

Excited to see Sony has started rolling out PlayStation 4 demo kiosks to retailers? If so, we hope you’re bright enough to bring a gallon of hand sanitizer with you considering how many snot-nosed kids will be getting their always-sticky hands on the PlayStation 4 controllers on the kiosks. The rest of us who already know they’ll soon be owners of the PlayStation 4 are probably curious to see what the retail packaging will look like, especially since Microsoft drew first blood by not only showing their retail packaging, but also giving a quick look at what comes in the box of the Xbox One. It’s your lucky day, future PS4 owner, as Sony has just released what the PlayStation 4, as well as its accessories, will look like when it’s either delivered to your home or you pick it up from a retailer. Sony PS4 Demo Pod Spotted

Sony PS4 Demo Pod SpottedSony has already shown off what could very well be the first look at PS4 demo pods that are tipped to arrive in stores ahead of the PS4’s launch that is set to happen in November – which is just one month away. In an image of the demo pod that was spotted over on PlayStation Germany’s official Facebook page, the final unit was depicted, alongside a bunch of other games that will include Knack, Driveclub, Skylanders Swap Force, NBA Live 14 and Madden NFL 25. It remains to be seen just when the rest of the PS4 pods will make an appearance over on UK shop floors, so I guess a little bit more patience must be expected.

It was also recently that GAME revealed that they had already partnered up with Microsoft in order to bring the Xbox One on tour (wow, so consoles are now more or less in the same league as rock stars and celebrities, as they get to go on tour around?) throughout various spots in the UK. It remains to be seen, however, whether Sony themselves have already drawn up plans that are in a similar vein. The Sony PS4 is tipped to launch in the UK later this November 29th, and by that time, folks living in the US would already have managed to spend some game time with it, too.

PS4 Won’t Play Nice With PS3 USB Headsets At Launch

PS4 Won’t Play Nice With PS3 USB Headsets At LaunchRolling out a new piece of hardware does have its fair share of challenges from time to time. After all, there rarely has been a 100% smooth launch, and I guess you can say the same for the upcoming Sony PS4 next generation gaming console which will hit the US sometime later next month. For those who were wondering whether they could save some money by making use of your PlayStation Pulse headset with the Sony PS4 at launch, you might be in for a downer at the moment.

Sony claims that the PlayStation Pulse headset will not be compatible with the PS4 at launch, not at least until there is a system update sometime down the road. Of course, who are we to say that this will not happen between now and November, right? Perhaps some smart aleck over at Sony will have stumbled upon a method to make those two compatible with one another during this window period. Do bear in mind, however, that any headset that relies on a TOSlink cable in order to feed audio data, which means majority of the headsets that cost more than $100, ought to be able to function without missing a beat. I don’t think that this is going to stop folks from purchasing the PS4 in the first place anyways.

What we’ve got here is a set of student engineering majors […]
