The 2013 Razer Blade was fantastic
When it comes to gaming peripherals for the computer, I am quite sure that there is one particular name that should not be overlooked at all, and that would be Razer. The company has just announced the launch of the first mechanical switch in the world that has been specially designed by Razer, which will target the gaming community, calling it the Razer Mechanical Switch.Traditional mechanical switches were used for typing purposes, but the all-new Razer Mechanical Switches have been designed and engineered from the ground up to cater for gamers. This would mean going back to the drawing board in order to re-engineer the traditional mechanical switch.
Apparently, it has taken a whole lot of research by Razer’s multi-award winning engineers to identify the optimal actuation distance for a gaming switch to a fraction of a millimeter, where they then reduced that partiular distance between the actuation and reset point by almost 50% in order to facilitate faster, more precise gaming commands when compared to standard mechanical switches. Apart from that, the all-new Razer Mechanical Switches have also been using with an ultra-precise manufacturing technique that will work in tandem with gold plated contact points, where it ought to be good for up to 60 million key strokes, now how about that?
These switches will no doubt have theoretical value behind their design, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so what better way to put it to the test than to have the world’s most demanding eSports athletes give the new Razer Mechanical Switch a spin, especially in some of the most intense professional gaming tournaments? Implemented in the Razer BlackWidow keyboard, it is said to have a “lighter and smoother feel”, according to Jens “Snute” Aasgaard, Team Liquid StarCraft player. Jens continued, “It’s comfortable and solid – perfect for long practice sessions and tournaments.”
Now don’t go blaming the keyboard anymore if you lose your next competitive StarCraft game, it is just a lack of tactical nous on your part, and not the keyboard.

Razer is a company known for their gaming peripherals, such as keyboard, mice, headphones, and so on. In the past we have seen Razer turn to Germany’s ZF Electronics to supply them with their Cherry MX switches for their mechanical keyboards in their BlackWidow series of gaming keyboards.
However it seems that Razer might have a change of heart and strategy and has decided to create and launch their own brand of mechanical keyboard switches instead in the form of the Razer Green and the Razer Orange, with the latter being a softer and more subtle version of the Razer Green. (more…)

Razer, one of the foremost names when it comes to gaming peripherals as well as in recent times, gaming machines, has just teamed up with Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg in order to roll out a bunch of Koenigsegg limited edition Razer Blade laptops. The thing about these limited edition laptops is, you are unable to purchase it from any walk-in retail store even if you happen to have more than enough money to spare. Both companies that have come together decided on this plan to inaugurate the relationship by introducing a limited edition of custom not-for-sale Blade laptops, where only a lucky few Koenigsegg owners and Razer fans will be able to have the privilege of using.
I suppose that the main changes introduced in this limited edition Razer Blade gaming laptop would be cosmetic in nature, as this lean and mean gaming machine will continue to retain its form factor (an ultra thin chassis, mind you) in addition to power underneath the hood. The chassis itself is said to be CNC machined and appointed with unmistakable Koenigsegg cachet.
While it would be rather strange for a gaming laptop to be introduced at a motor show, this is exactly what is going to happen later next month. The Koenigsegg Razer Blade is tipped to be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2014, where it will be on parade to the masses there, and only a selected few will be able to drive virtual Agera R´s in the best setting possible.
Just how will this collaboration pan out in the future? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling deep down inside that this will not be the last device that both of them will work together on, so let us keep our fingers crossed that we will see more exciting projects being worked upon in due time.

Have you checked out the Razer Blade when it was first announced in May last year? We have done our bit of homework with the Razer Blade Pro which you can read the review here, but the topic on hand right now will be totally different – it would be a limited edition Koenigsegg Razer Blade gaming laptop that cannot be purchased over the counter, which just goes to show how rare and special this particular device is. This series of not-for-sale Koenigsegg limited edition Razer Blade laptops is an alliance between the two brands’ obsession (some say) with engineering perfection.

During CES 2014, we were treated to a new wearables device from gaming peripheral manufacturer, Razer, in the form of the Razer Nabu. The device has been designed to be similar to other wearable devices in the sense that some of the functionality is the same, such as the ability to receive notifications, but has been designed to be much slimmer as the company felt that smartwatches in general tend to be bulky and have a pretty bad battery life, which is why the smaller form factor should allow for the device to run 7-10 days before requiring a recharge. Razer Nabu SmartBand Offers Mobile Notifications and Band-to-Band Social Connectivity
Posted in: Today's ChiliRazer has pulled the covers off something a bit different for it at CES 2014. The new product isn’t a gaming mouse, keyboard, or headset. Rather the Razer Nabu SmartBand is a compact wearable device meant to interface with your smartphone and more.
The device will provide notifications from your smartphone on its small OLED screens. The outer public icon screen shows the user incoming calls, texts, emails, and app updates via notification icons. The private message screen on the inside of the wrist gives detailed info on texts emails, and more that only the user needs to see.
The Nabu also has advanced sensors for data tracking with location information, bio data feedback for steps and more, as well as sleep data. One of the more unique features of the Nabu is that it allows band-to-band communication capability to find nearby friends and other users based on settings that are defined by the wearer. Razer plans on offering the Nabu to developers first to see what sort of innovative apps they can develop for the device.
The Nabu supports Android and iOS smartphones. The developer price for the Nabu is $49(USD) with the retail price to be set later.
The Best of CES 2014
Posted in: Today's ChiliCES ain’t quite what it used to be. Pretty much all the big guys have pulled out in favor of doing their own events. The phones are OK and the 4K TVs pretty, but a dime a dozen. But there are still some hidden treasures that are amazing. Here’s all the stuff from CES that made us squeal with glee.
We happen to live in a world that demands efficiency from us. After all, there is nothing quite like working at our level best, is there? When it comes to computing performance, excellence is always called upon for, whether you are crunching numbers on a spreadsheet, or simply are a hard core gamer who wants to crank every single possible frame out. Razer has announced a concept that might just change the world of computers down the road with their modular gaming system that is known as Project Christine.
The PC has been touted to be one of the most open platforms where technology is concerned, but it does have its own drawbacks, too. There are technical complexities where the PC is concerned in terms of hardware, and Project Christine with its revolutionary new concept design will hopefully change the way that PCs are viewed. In a nutshell, Project Christine would enable any user to be able to build and customize his or her PC in any configuration without the need for any technical knowledge beforehand. Apart from that, upgrading your computer is a snap, since as new upgrades are introduced to the market, the very same machine can be easily and quickly upgraded without the need for additional technical assistance, not to mention doing away with the fear of incompatibility or obsolescence.
Project Christine’s modular design allows you to select and install modules on-the-fly, whether it’s a CPU, GPU, or memory and storage configuration. The PCI-Express architecture of Project Christine makes it easy to sync components automatically, and should you require additional graphics processing power or storage, the solution is a snap. Just slot-in another graphics modules and throw in additional storage after you swap out the current storage drives or adding more modules. Do you think that Project Christine has what it takes to succeed?
