Angry Birds Go! Now Available For Download

Angry Birds Go! Now Available For DownloadEarlier this year, the folks Rovio teased a new Angry Birds game called Angry Birds Go!, which was later revealed several months later to be a kart racing game. Given that the Angry Birds franchise has been more or less about slinging birds into pigs, just in different settings, this appeared to be a pretty refreshing change. The game was pegged for a release on the 11th of December and sure enough Rovio has announced the release of the game! To be fair the game had a soft launch not too long ago, although it appeared to be available only for the Australia and New Zealand iTunes App Store, but with the official launch, presumably everyone will be able to get their hands on the game.

For those hearing about it for the first time, Angry Birds Go! is a karting game where players will be able to choose characters such as Red, Chuck, Stella, and King Pig, just to name a few, all of which are from the Angry Birds franchise. Gamers will also be able to choose from over 50 karts to race in as well as a variety of different race tracks. The game will be free-to-play, and Rovio expects to monetize the game through in-app purchases which could get pretty expensive. The app will be available for iOS, Android, Windows Phone 8, and BlackBerry 10 devices starting from today, so head on over to your respective app stores for the download!

Angry Birds Go! In-App Purchases Rumored To Get Very Expensive

Angry Birds Go! In App Purchases Rumored To Get Very ExpensiveWhat do you think of the freemium model for mobile games? It certainly does have its advantages as you will first be able to give the game a go in terms of checking it out, whether it falls within your expectations or otherwise, and then only will you invest additional dollars to make sure that your progress in the game itself will go on smoothly. Of course, there is also the danger of spending plenty of dough in the long run compared to the one-time payment for a game itself. Rovio has decided to take the freemium route with their upcoming Angry Birds Go! kart racing title that will be out this coming December 11th. The thing is, we have heard whispers on the ground that you will find plenty of in-app purchases in the game, and some of them are going to burn a huge hole in your wallet – to the tune of $100, apparently!

Gamers in New Zealand have already received an early release of Angry Birds Go!, and there is this issue of your racer tiring out after a certain number of races. This would mean you can ultimately wait for your racer to recover, or pay actual dough so that your racer has additional energy. If you do not have patience as a virtue, locked characters and bonuses too, can be unlocked earlier by forking out extra money.

Angry Birds Developer Releases Match-3 Puzzle Game On iOS, Android

Whenever Angry Birds developer Rovio announces something, the tech world tends to take notice considering just how massively popular their bird-flinging game has become over the years. Today is one of those days as Rovio is announcing a new iOS and Android game called Juice Cubes.

Juice Cubes was developed by Thailand-based Pocket PlayLab and is described as a “fun and fruity puzzle game” which features rows of colorful cubes that players need to connect in order to create “massive combos and explosions.” In other words, it’s a match-3 puzzle game, so those of you with a Candy Crush Saga addiction would probably want to take note of Juice Cubes. Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Makes Its Way Onto The PC

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Makes Its Way Onto The PCHeads up Angry Birds fans! If you loved playing the game on Android and iOS devices, Rovio has announced that Angry Birds Star Wars 2 will finally be making its way onto the PC. The developer has placed the game up for purchase and download via its website and gamers can expect to fork out $4.95 for it. The game was originally released for mobile devices back in September but apparently there has been enough demand by PC gamers to warrant Rovio releasing a PC version of the game as well. Angry Birds Star Wars 2 is the sequel to Angry Birds Star Wars that was released back in 2012 which also had a PC version of the game, so we guess it makes sense that Rovio would release a PC variant of Angry Birds Star Wars 2.

The PC requirements for the game is relatively low and we expect anyone with a modern day computer should be able to play it without any issue. For those who are eager to get their hands on the game, hit up Rovio’s Angry Birds website for the purchase and download. So, who else is excited to get their hands on the PC version of the game?

Rovio Celebrates Halloween With Zombie PigsThere will be a new update for Bad Piggies, which will be known as Tusk ‘til Dawn, where zombie pigs has started to roam around, where we will see 30 spooky new levels introduced with scary Zombie Pigs searching for King Pig’s candy. Apart from that, this particular game will also feature a remix of Rovio’s official Halloween 2013 song, Shuffle & Spawn by Major Lazer. Those who love to pick up trivia, you will be able to find the original song in Angry Birds Friends.

To take a small detour, those who love vinyl will be in for a treat – and not a trick. Shuffle & Spawn has been released as an ultra limited edition picture vinyl, where it will include the original Major Lazer remix as well as a FOX remix. What do you think of the seasonal changes introduced into the Angry Birds franchise? It definitely brings around a nice touch for sure, but how much longer can this novelty last? Angry Birds Go fills a serious Mario Kart gap in Android and iOS

This week the folks at Rovio have unleashed word of their next gaming effort in Angry Birds Go! This game will – as suspected – work with the “Kart” universe of racing, doing so for Android and iOS on December 11th, 2013. This game will take on what Nintendo refuses to move forward with in […]

    Angry Birds Go! Announced

It does seem as though Rovio will no longer be able to escape the “gravitational pull” of their Angry Birds franchise, as anything else that they roll out will not matter all that much. You could more or less say that they are a victim of their own success in this case, and this time around, we have the announcement of Angry Birds Go! – coupled with its licensing partners. The Angry Birds Go! game will launch this coming December 11th, with the countdown app released on this coming October 31st.

Just what is Angry Birds Go! all about? For starters, it will invite players regardless of their age to join the birds as they start to make their way downhill in karts. These will be new elements in the Angry Birds franchise that should open up the doors to extra opportunities for innovative product lines, reaching out across multiple consumer products categories to boot. For starters, the Angry Birds Go! game will also feature Hasbro’s TELEPODS, so that players are able to take advantage of it to “teleport” new karts into the game so that they have an edge over the competition.

Do you think that the Angry Birds franchise is about to run out of steam pretty soon, or will it still go on strong three decades down the road just like how Star Wars simply refuses to clock out?

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Cashes In On GTA 5 Hype

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Cashes In On GTA 5 HypeFor Angry Birds fans, you might have heard that the Angry Birds Star Wars 2 game is set to debut on the 19th of September, and with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 released a couple of days ago, it looks like the folks at Rovio have decided to hop aboard the GTA bandwagon by releasing the image above to help market its upcoming game, while taking advantage of the hype of Grand Theft Auto 5. Granted Rovio probably doesn’t need to hype given that the Angry Birds franchise has to be one of the most successful mobile games of all time, but it’s still pretty clever and admittedly a little funny as well.

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 will be the sequel to the original Angry Birds Star Wars and will introduce a couple of new characters, such as Darth Maul, Mace Windu, and a young Anakin Skywalker. No word on pricing yet but we expect Rovio will keep it around the same price that they have been using for previous Angry Birds games. So, who else is looking forward to Angry Birds Star Wars 2? Or do you think that GTA 5 has overshadowed the launch of the upcoming mobile game?

Angry Birds Playground To Be Introduced In Chinese Classrooms

What started as an iOS game has now become a global phenomenon. Angry Birds is perhaps the most popular mobile game franchise out there, the game is actually available for a wide variety of platforms right now. Rovio, the developer of Angry Birds, has now teamed up with the University of Helsinki to create Angry Birds Playground. Basically, its a set of educational materials geared towards kindergarten-age children. Based on Finland’s educational curriculum, Angry Birds Playground focuses on physical education to language and from art, math to music.

Sanna Lukander of Rovio tells The Guardian that Angry Birds Playground is “a full 360-degree approach to learning, where games are just one part of it,” and that its not just “learning by sitting down and playing with a digital device.” 123 Education Development, a Chinese firm, is also involved in this project. It will be initially launched in an early learning centre in Shanghai, China. Students will get branded games, books, toys and an “interactive whiteboard” as well as a “five-string instrument.” The project is said to promote both physical and social education. University of Helsinki will remain involved in Angry Birds Playground, it will continue to train teachers and incorporate their feedback in future versions of the project.
