The Star Wars Rebels art design we were hoping to receive a hint about back in May has arrived, and then some, by way of the New York Comic Con (NYCC). First came an in-film prop: a propaganda poster depicting three Stormtroopers, overlaid with a snippet of the Aurebesh language in a Borg-esque typeface. EDIT […]
There are a million and one headphones on the market, so how do you decide which ones to buy? Well, you could pick them just on the basis of how they sound and fit your hear, but that would be boring. Why not pick your next pair of ‘phones strictly on the way they look, then worry about those other factors later?
I particularly love the way these handpainted video game and geek pop culture inspired headphones from Ketchupzie look. You can choose from a wide variety of headphones over at their Etsy shop, ranging from a Legend of Zelda design to Super Mario Bros., Portal, Adventure Time, Doctor Who, and more.
My personal favorites? Pokémon Headphones, I choose you!
Prices range from about $38 to $125(USD) for the meticulously handpainted headphones, depending on the complexity of the artwork and the brand of headphones used. Head on over to Ketchupzie’s Etsy shop to check out the entire collection.
Jewelry designer Paul Bierker of Paul Michael Jewelry is a busy man. When he’s not designing Boba Fett, Zelda Tri-Force or R2-D2 rings, he’s making pendants that look like Han Solo frozen in carbonite.
This pendant is handmade from sterling silver, and features our favorite scruffy-looking nerf-herder, frozen peacefully in semi-eternal sleep. At least until Boushh shows up. The pendant even has detailed structures on the sides and back to complete the look.
The pendant sells for $110 to $145(USD) over on Etsy, depending on the length of chain you want it on. One minor detail Paul forgot to post is exactly how large it is, but I’m assuming that it’s not too big judging by the size of the loop it’s hanging from.
So if you’re looking for the perfect gift for your very own Princess Leia, grab one of these today.
Have you ever wanted to be a part of Star Wars? Well, now is your chance to become a part of the movie that changed movies forever. You, my friend, can be choked by our favorite Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader. This painting will live for all time and it can be your gasping face above Vader’s strangling hand.
Etsy seller FeatherStonePortrait will use his Alias Art series to put you into the movie through a painting. Just give him a picture and a great idea to get started.
There are no limits to what you can create. Have Vader choke you out. Ride a Bantha. Slay an Ewok. Proudly hold Jar Jar’s decapitated head in your hand! You can re-think, tweak and approve your painting every step of the way while you speak with the artist directly as he creates your piece. Awesome. Prices range from $375 to $675 (USD) to you live out your movie fantasies.
Who wouldn’t love to have Khans beefy chest? Well, now you can. No weight lifting or visits to Fantasy Island necessary. This Khan T-shirt will make you look just like Khan Noonien Sighn. From the neck down at least.
I know you want this shirt. Me too. It is awesome. This shirt tasks me! It tasks me, and I shall have it! I’ll chase it round the Moons of Nibia, and round the Antares Maelstrom, and round Perdition’s flames before I give it up! But thankfully I won’t have to. It is only $39.99(USD) from SuperHeroStuff.
It’s perfect for Halloween or just to look cool and ripped any day of the week. Wear it to the office, why don’t you?
Maybe you thought that self-driving vehicles were a little bit further away, but check out this prototype machine gun, that will dispatch enemies from afar, without needing anyone to drive it.
The HDT Robotics Self-Driving Machine Gun uses a M240 machine gun and it can fire at a target at almost 500 feet away. Such a robot could help clear the way for soldiers to safely enter a battlefield, assuming it’s able to tackle the terrain us puny humans can. The prototype was demonstrated for the US Army, and you’ll notice that they have it chained up “for safety purposes.” Perhaps they learned a lesson from ED-209.
It can be a scary thought, having unmanned vehicle firing at enemies. So long as they remain firmly under human control, I guess it can’t be all bad.

The Force is great and all, but if you have duct tape, why do we even need it anymore? Duct tape can do anything. And these days you can purchase duct tape in kinds of colors and themes. Now you can also get Star Wars duct tape. Use the tape, Luke!
Star Wars duct tape is great for everyday uses like fixing household items, making crafts like wallets, patching up damaged X-Wing fighters, AT-ATs, protocol droids, or even Death Stars. Facebook commenter Chris Bugher put it best: “It has a light side a dark side and it binds to the universe together.”
It comes from the Duck tape brand and will start hitting stores soon. The design includes Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and the classic yellow Star Wars logo and Imperial symbol. How cool is that?

One of the most fanatically followed television series of all time, Doctor Who, will be given a jolt of nostalgia soon as the BBC can confirm the recovery of a mass of episodes previously thought lost to the vaults of time. This suggestion comes from the BBC itself, suggesting that a total of 106 episodes […]
I’ll admit that despite my love for science fiction and things geeky I’ve never been a fan of Doctor Who. I tried watching the show and I’ve never succeeded in making it through the first commercial break. If you are a big fan of the show you may be excited to hear that a number of episodes from early in the series have been rediscovered – some of which were believed to have been lost forever.
As the story goes, when BBC purged a bunch of old footage they trashed some who early Doctor Who episodes featuring William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton. An incredible 106 of these episodes were discovered at the Ethiopian Radio and Television Agency.
Among the rediscovered episodes are several that were only on the air one time. Those episodes include The Crusade, The Enemy of the World, and The Ice Warriors. Indications are that BBC sold the episodes to the Ethiopian television agency before destroying the originals. The BBC is reportedly currently in the process of having those copies returned. Exactly what the BBC will do with these episodes is unknown, presumably they’ll be shown again – or sold on disc – to fans of the series.
