We recently told you that James Mangold would be directing the next installment of The Wolverine, The Wolverine 2. It is now confirmed that David James Kelly and Hugh Jackman … Continue reading
A lot of people take paintings that they find at thrift stores and add stuff to them. Some people even add Star Wars themes to these paintings, but Dave Vancook has a great eye for it.
Boba Fett as a matador, facing off against a raging bull? Greedo in Scottish attire, riding a pony? How about an Endor Scout trooper having lunch at a restaurant with his speeder bike parked in front? Check. Check. And check. That is just some of Dave’s fantastically geeky work.
I would love to hang these up in my home. I especially like the Boba Fett one. It’s classy and geeky.

There are plenty of replica sonic screwdrivers out there for fans of Doctor Who to collect. The last one we talked about was the War Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver. If you have a collection of sonic screwdrivers that you need a place to store and show off, this is the perfect DIY project for you.
One Whovian going by the name 00failure has used MDF and wood veneer to create an awesome chest that displays his collection of sonic screwdrivers. The collectables are tucked away inside foam with cutouts the perfect size to keep them in place.
The builder went so far as to laser cut Gallifreyan symbols into the veneer. The finished products is very cool. However, I must confess to not watching the show, so I see what appears to be a tube of lipstick, a pocket watch, and some odd keys inside as well that I don’t know the significance of.

Funko Pop! Star Trek: The Original Series Vinyl Figures: Beam My Wallet up, Scotty!
Posted in: Today's ChiliSo what else can we geeks spend our dough on? How about this fantastic line of vinyl figures from Funko? These Star Trek original series characters look adorable and you can choose from Spock, Kirk, Andorian, Scotty, an Orion Slave Girl or a Klingon.
Spock is giving the Vulcan salute, while Kirk and Scotty come with non-removable phasers. I think the Andorian is the cutest. These figures are extra cute and stand 3 3/4″ tall. They are made from vinyl and are super colorful. They will look great on your desk.
They are only $9.99(USD) each over at ThinkGeek, and can also be found at Entertainment Earth if they’re sold out.
Live long and prosper and collect cool toys.
I think the greatest thing to happen in the LEGO realm is the Cuusoo site where people can submit their own LEGO designs and if those designs get enough votes, they can become official building kits. This is how we ended up with the awesome Back to the Future and Ghostbusters LEGO sets.
We know that LEGO has cleared any legal hurdles to making Doctor Who kits, and what may well be the coolest kit we have seen has turned up on Cuusoo and needs your votes to go into production.
The kit was designed by a man named Andrew Clark and he did a great job. The set includes a TARDIS and control room, K9, and a Dalek. The designer has also proposed a number of minifigs, including two doctors, two companions, a weeping angel and a cyberman.
The project needs 10,000 votes for consideration. Go vote now!

Animated character designer Phil Postma created this series of imaginary Star Wars action figures cards after he saw an image of an R2-D2 action figure that looked like a tiny spray can.
I love the graffiti art style of the images, and think it would be awesome if they actually made a Star Wars animated series with this look.
I’d also like Phil to come to my neighborhood and spray this on one of the buildings:
Be sure to head over to Phil’s blog to check out more images from his Star Wars street art series – and lots of other awesome art.
The force is strong with this sterling silver Darth Vader ring. Get one today, because Vader is disturbed by your lack of fashion. It’s stylish and bold just like the Sith lord himself.
The Dark Side has never looked so stunning. This ring announces to the world that you are a badass and are not afraid to show it. Now if you just had some Stormtrooper rings, your fists could cause some real trouble, like punching a snowbank and pretending that you are invading a Hoth base. Or putting on a little puppet show with your fingers.
You can get it for $84.99(USD) from Amazon. The Force is always in fashion.
