SEGA Offering Retro Console-Inspired Mobile Accessories In November

SEGA Offering Retro Console Inspired Mobile Accessories In November

With all of this talk of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, gamers tend to forget about previous-generation video game consoles for a few months as they spend the majority of their time playing with their new preciouses. Soon after the honeymoon phase is over, gamers go back to being a bit more level headed, often becoming nostalgic when thinking of past consoles. SEGA has teamed up with Tommo, Inc. to allow you to show just how much you love the company’s previously released video game consoles through several cell phone cases, battery packs and a bluetooth speaker that oozes with retro goodness.

The partnership between Tommo and SEGA coincides with the 25th anniversary of the SEGA Genesis. The cell phone cases will resemble SEGA consoles such as the SEGA Genesis, Game Gear, SEGA Saturn and SEGA Dreamcast. The bluetooth speaker looks the most impressive as its brick style recreates the SEGA Genesis’ look.

Tommo, Inc. and SEGA’s Hardware Series mobile accessories are expected to be released starting in November. At this time, no official price points have been announced for any of these accessories, but can you really put a price on that nostalgic feeling when you pull our your mobile device and you’re reminded of simpler times?

SEGA Interested In Remaking Older Titles, Asks Fans To Make Their Voices Heard

SEGA Interested In Remaking Older Titles, Asks Fans To Make Their Voices HeardEarlier today we had reported that Nintendo expressed their interest at creating newer and exciting titles for its Wii U console, as opposed to giving older titles, such as The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, HD remakes. Interestingly enough it seems that SEGA feels differently and has expressed their interest at remaking some of their older titles, but only if their fans want it and make their voices heard. In an interview with Siliconera, SEGA’s CS Research and Development producer, Yosuke Okunari, spoke about the importance of a good remake of a classic title.

Speaking on the success of a remake of Virtua Fighter 2, “From that, I was able to understand what it takes to make such a faithful remake, and it’s something I’ve put a lot of importance in, since I’ve started working on the series. So, we developed the Space Harrier Complete Collection, an entire compilation of the series, to go with the various generations of our customers.” Okunari goes on to state that future remakes will be decided by fans who just need to make their voices heard. “For our next lineup, it will depend on all of your voices, so please continue to support us.” So gamers, what SEGA classics would you like to see remade with today’s technology?

Alien: Isolation game places Ripley’s daughter alone in space

There’s a video game being developed right this minute by Sega with a main character that, if you’ve never seen the Director’s Cut of “Aliens”, you might never have known existed. This character is the daughter of Ellen Ripley, a character that died (or so this one tiny scene suggests) while Ripley was floating home […]

Doctors Play Super Monkey Ball 2 To Prepare Them For Surgery

When surgeons are preparing for their upcoming surgery, you probably think they’re studying all kinds of charts and diagrams as they carefully cut away at their slices of breakfast ham. Getting both their hands and minds ready for the upcoming task is probably as important as the surgery itself, although a group of surgeons in Florida Hospital Celebration Health have been known to do some gaming prior to their upcoming surgery. Steam Controller in use game developers sound off on the beta version's highs and lows, how it feels

We’ve only known about the Steam Controller for 24 hours, but it turns out a variety of developers already got a chance to put the controller to use ahead of the lucky 300 beta participants later this year. The devs we spoke with didn’t use the final format of the controller, but the non-touchscreen beta form seen above: four large buttons stand out in place of the clickable touchscreen panel (planned for the final version of Steam Controller). It’s the version that will ship to those aforementioned 300 beta participants later this year, and it’s the version that Valve is showing game developers ahead of anyone else. Follow us beyond the break and find out what they had to say.%Gallery-slideshow99391%

    Sonic Lost World Trailer Revealed

It is less than 30 days away before Sonic Lost World is launched for the masses, so here is yet another trailer for you to whet your appetite. The latest Sonic Lost World trailer will provide an extended look at the game’s enemies, and they will be known as the “Deadly Six”. Not quite as evil sounding as the Sinister Six of Marvel Comics’ fame, but I guess it will do in a cartoon-like environment. The half dozen baddies that you will go up against will all come with a name that starts with the letter ‘Z’, that is, Zor, Zazz, Master Zik, Zavok, Zomom and Zeena.

There has been speculation going around that Zavok is going to be the leader among the dirty dozen listed above, since the rest of them do not seem to be archnemesis material, featuring some rather boring personalities. Of course, we could be wrong on this count, as for all you know, Zavok might just end up as the muscle of the group, and it goes without saying that without the presence of Dr. Eggman around in a direct manner, he could be the puppet master pulling all of the strings. All we need to do is wait until October 22nd rolls around and we can get cracking on Sonic Lost World on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
