Microsoft Officially Releases IE 7
Posted in: Today's ChiliThis article was written on October 18, 2006 by CyberNet.
Microsoft has finally released Internet Explorer 7 even though their main page
hasn’t HAS been updated. That means we still don’t have an official list of changes but the build number is 7.0.5730.11 and weighs in at 15MB.
If you are running a previous version, such as IE 7 RC1, on Windows XP you will not have to uninstall that in order to upgrade to this version. Internet Explorer will automatically take care of that for you.
I haven’t seen any information or download links regarding a Vista compatible version which is a little unusual. When Microsoft announces the release hopefully they will give us some insight whether to expect an upgrade for those of us running pre-release versions of Vista. I can’t really say that it matters too much for me because I hardly use IE anyway. 😉

Eterni.me Lets You Live “Forever”
Posted in: Today's ChiliWho wants to live forever? Plenty of us, I suppose. After all, monarchs and great leaders of the past have always wanted to learn the secret of immortality and youth, but until now, everyone would breathe his or her last eventually one of these days. Perhaps there is a way for you to live “forever”, which can be achieved by this particular software known as Eterni.me. Eterni.me will create a computer version of you for when you breathe your last here on earth, allowing your loved ones to interact with “you”. This particular new service would be required to collect as much data as possible about you in order to work its “magic” after you’re gone. I suppose this is a primitive version of what we’ve seen in “Man of Steel”, where Jor-El’s “consciousness” has been successfully replicated somewhat.

No Firefox 2 Beta 2 Until August 15
Posted in: Today's ChiliThis article was written on August 02, 2006 by CyberNet.
Even though we were hoping and dreaming of a Firefox 2.0 Beta 2 as early as next week you might be disappointed to find out that it has been pushed back to August 15. I have to admit that I was very unhappy to find this out because I really want to see the Visual Refresh first-hand, but I wasn’t surprised. The refresh looks so sleek and really seems to keep it simple which is what I like most about the default Firefox theme. The rest of the schedule looks like it will remain the same (or they haven’t revised the whole schedule yet which is probably more likely):
- UPDATED: Firefox 2.0 Beta 2 – August 15
- Firefox 2.0 RC1 – September 1
- Firefox 2.0 RC2 – September 8
- Firefox 2.0 RC3 – September 15
- Firefox 2.0 Final – September 26
As always I will let you know as soon as they implement the new theme into the nightly builds. In the meantime you can checkout what steps they have already taken to prepare for the upcoming refresh.
