    Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta Phase 2 LaunchedAs April 14th draws closer, it would also signal the official launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the Sony PS4 platform. Well, before that particular day happens, Square Enix has rolled out Beta Phase 2 for the game, which happens to be an open beta to all PS4 owners who play between now until 1AM PT on Monday, April 7th. Phase 2 would see the use of live game servers, where you will be able to join up with the other PC and PS3 gamers, making use of existing characters in the Beta so that there is a sense of continuity.

    Sony Xperia Z2 Compact Might Have Received FCC Approval AlreadyIt does seem that the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact has left a mark in the world of smartphones, as this particular device could very well feature a successor in the weeks or months ahead. Nothing’s been confirmed just yet, but we could very well have seen the Xperia Z2 Compact gain FCC approval, although the handset in question has been certified as the Sony SO-04F “Altair”, which will in all probability be a device made available via NTT DoCoMo of Japan if one were to take the model number as a reference.

    Xbox Co Founder Skeptical About VR Tech, Compares It To 3D TVDuring GDC 2014, Sony unveiled Project Morpheus, a virtual reality headset of their own making. This was followed shortly after by Facebook announcing the acquisition of Oculus VR. There have also been talks about Microsoft entering the VR space as well and with all this attention, it definitely sounds like VR could be on track to become the next big thing in gaming.

    There are some, like Ubisoft, who expressed some reservation regarding the wide appeal of VR headsets and it seems that they’re not alone in that reservation. Speaking recently at a Yabbly “Ask Me Anything” session, the Xbox’s co-founder, Ed Fries, expressed his own skepticism that virtual reality could have a wide appeal. (more…)

    Sony PS4 Survey Hints At Possible FeaturesSometimes when a company sends out a survey, it can be pretty interesting as it gives us an insight as to what sort of ideas a company might have or where it could be headed in the future. Well thanks to a recent survey Sony has sent to PlayStation 4 owners (via VGXNetwork), it seems that we have been given a small insight into some of the features Sony could be considering for the PS4.

    While the survey is in no way confirming that these are features Sony will be bringing to the table, at the very least we know that Sony could be considering some of them and that the results of the survey could be used as a gauge to measure interest. (more…)

A Sony representative claimed that there will not be any official Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Sony Xperia SP, so for those of you who upgraded your respective smartphones to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in February earlier this year, that would be as good as it gets.

    Sony Bundles Michael Jackson’s “XSCAPE” Album With Xperia Z2

    Similar to what Jay-Z did with Samsung, it seems that Sony wants to do something similar as well, which is to release a music album in conjunction with the release of a handset. In this case Sony plans to use the upcoming Xperia Z2 and will be releasing a new Michael Jackson album titled “XSCAPE” together with it.

    Yes, we are well aware that the King of Pop is no longer with us, so XSCAPE isn’t technically new material, but will instead feature unreleased material which we guess did not make it to the studio albums, which in turn will no doubt make it an album that fans and collectors will want to get their hands on.
