Sprint Push To Talk Expanded To More Phones

Sprint Push To Talk Expanded To More Phones

Its going to be a surge of nostalgia for Nextel users. The Nextel network was shut down last year, its customers were quite besotted with its push to talk feature, which essentially makes the phone function as a walkie-talkie. When Sprint finally integrated Nextel’s network, it tried its very best to offer a similar feature to ease previous customers back into the fold, and today it carries on with that mission. Sprint has announced that it is extending its push to talk feature to more phones through a downloadable application.

Sprint T-Mobile Merger To Be Discussed With FCC

Sprint T Mobile Merger To Be Discussed With FCC

Ever since it was first rumored that Sprint is interested in buying T-Mobile, there has been a lot of speculation about the response of regulatory authorities over the Sprint T-Mobile merger. This isn’t the first time that Magenta has attracted a buyer, back in 2011 it agreed to sell itself to AT&T for $39 billion, but the deal was blocked by regulators. Analysts are of the view that similar issues might plague a similar deal this time around as well, which is presumably why Sprint higher-ups are meeting with regulators to see where they lean prior to making an official buyout bid for T-Mobile U.S.

Red Nexus 5 Could Launch On February 4

Red Nexus 5 Could Launch On February 4There has been much that had been said about the upcoming Nexus 5 which will arrive in a shade of bright red, making us wonder whether this is some sort of Nokia creation instead. After all, Nokia’s collection of Lumia smartphones tend to lean more on the colorful, plastic side. We have seen extra red Nexus 5 photos make an appearance online already, which can only mean one thing – the real deal should be well on its way to roll out. The latest leaked screenshot of Sprint’s internal Playbook did point out that the red version of the Nexus 5 will be introduced to the masses this coming February 4th. Do bear in mind that nothing has been made official to date, so take it with a grain of salt.

T-Mobile Sprint Merger Discussed With U.S. Department Of Justice

    sprint_sign

Ever since it was first rumored that Sprint is looking to acquire T-Mobile, there has been much talk about the response from U.S. regulators. Back in 2011, AT&T agreed to acquire T-Mobile for $39 billion, but the deal was struck down by regulators. The fears have emerged once again, this time for Sprint, which has apparently lined up as much as $31 billion for financing the deal if T-Mobile is to agree to a takeover. The Wall Street Journal reports that Sprint and Softbank CEOs met with the Department of Justice to talk up the T-Mobile Sprint merger, but its a possibility that antitrust authorities might strike down their plans as well.

T-Mobile Sprint Merger: Magenta CEO Seems To Be Warming Up

    johnlegere

There has been much speculation about an imminent T-Mobile Sprint merger ever since it was first rumored that Sprint’s parent company, Softbank, was interested in acquiring the fourth largest U.S. carrier. Earlier this month, T-Mobile CEO John Legere gave off the vibe that the carrier was not interested in being taken over, saying that there was more potential for T-Mobile as an independent player. Last week it was rumored that Softbank has now entered in direct talks with Deutsche Telekom, which owns a controlling stake in T-Mobile U.S., and Legere now seems to be warming up to the idea of a merger.

    sprint-moto-x-android-4.4.2

Android 4.4 KitKat update might have arrived in record time for the Moto X back when it was first released, but Motorola’s flagship smartphone was overshadowed by its younger sibling which became the first of the company’s mobile devices to receive the Android 4.4.2 update. Since then many Moto X owners have wondered aloud when they’ll get the update on their device as well. Recently one Verizon Moto X owner received the update on their device, and now it has popped up on a Sprint subscriber’s Moto X.

ZTE Optik 2 Launches On Sprint For $29.99

zte-optik2If you’re looking to get your hands on a tablet that is affordable, devices like the Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX could just be what the doctor ordered, but if you still think that those devices are a little out of your budget and you’re not looking for anything too exciting, Sprint might have something for you in the form of the ZTE Optik 2, the successor to the ZTE Optik that was launched back in 2012 which also made its way onto Sprint’s network. Sprint has recently announced that the tablet will be available for purchase through Sprint’s Web Sales and Business Sales and will be priced at a very affordable $29.99, although it does require you to enter into a new two-year agreement with the carrier.

Then again if wanted a tablet with mobile internet connectivity as well, we guess signing a contract might not be such a bad deal after all. In terms of hardware specs, the ZTE Optik 2 will feature a 7” display with a resolution of 1280×800. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD, a 4,000mAH battery, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. It’s not the sleekest or the most powerful Android tablet we’ve seen, but it will get the job done for those whose interest is more towards going online rather than running intensive programs.

Karma 4G WiFi Hotspot lets you stay connected in style

karma-4gForget about 3G, 4G or LTE connectivity is where the action’s at these days if you want speedy mobile connectivity. Well, with so many different kinds of mobile carriers to choose from in a healthy and fairly competitive market, surely you might want to consider the $79.99 Karma 4G WiFi Hotspot as part of your next round of hardware purchases? This particular device follows a “Fair Share” model, being a pay-as-you-go WiFi hotspot, giving you the flexibility of connecting up to 8 different devices simultaneously. After all, you can never quite tell just when you would need an open WiFi connection, can you?

The Karma 4G WiFi Hotspot comes with 1GB of data to get you started right out of the box, and it is nice to know that this pay-as-you-go model would mean you do not need to top it up every single month, or at a specific expiry date. Basically, each subsequent 1GB will cost you $14 after that, and if you are being the hotspot host, your generosity would let you remain connected longer than usual since each time someone hooks up to your Karma, you will end up with another 100MB of data, and the goodness cycle does not end there, too. They themselves would be on the receiving end of another 100MB of data. The network of choice would be Sprint’s 4G WiMAX.
