Lara Croft: Reflections Revealed To Be A F2P Card Game

Earlier this year, Square Enix registered a trademark for the Lara Croft: Reflections name. Unfortunately at that time, it was unknown as to what the title could be about, save for the fact that it could be Tomb Raider-related. Some have speculated that the game could be a Tomb Raider game designed for the Nintendo 3DS or the PS Vita, but as it turns out, Lara Croft: Reflections is in reality a free-to-play card game, presumably joining the likes of Blizzard’s Hearthstone, which is also a free-to-play card game that is based on the Warcraft franchise.

As it stands, Lara Croft: Reflections is being tested in Australia and New Zealand at the moment, although we’re not sure if there are plans to bring it to the US and other parts of the world once the testing is complete, but presumably it will and will most likely make its way stateside come 2014. Like we said this is a free-to-play card game meaning that while the game is free to download, chances are Square Enix will be charging gamers for in-game purchases. In any case if you’re wondering what’s in store for you when the game is released, you can check out the preview video above that was put together by the folks at TouchGameplay.

Final Fantasy VI Arriving On iOS And Android This Winter

Final Fantasy VI Arriving On iOS And Android This WinterSquare Enix has been pretty busy releasing Final Fantasy titles for both iOS and Android devices, and if you’re planning on playing (or replaying) some Final Fantasy titles on your mobile device, you might be interested to learn that Final Fantasy VI will be making its way onto iOS and Android this winter. As expected of other Final Fantasy releases on mobile, Final Fantasy VI will see enhanced graphics while keeping to the overall theme of the game, which is to say that gamers can look forward to a 2D, 16-bit game like back in the day, which for some would be pretty nostalgic.

The game will be released in winter although no specific dates were mentioned. Pricing was not mentioned either but given that Square Enix’s previous Final Fantasy releases were considered pretty pricey, at least by mobile game standards, we wouldn’t be surprised if Final Fantasy VI was priced similarly as well. With Final Fantasy VII next in line, we’re sure many gamers were wondering about its possible release as well. According to Square Enix’s director, Takashi Tokita, he told the folks at Kotaku that Final Fantasy VII for mobile is a possibility, but nothing has been set in stone yet.

Square Enix To Release Dragon Quest I to Dragon Quest VIII On iOS And Android

Square Enix To Release Dragon Quest I to Dragon Quest VIII On iOS And AndroidSquare Enix has unveiled a site which has confirmed something that many people would certainly be looking forward to – that is, the release of Dragon Quest I all the way through to Dragon Quest VIII on mobile devices. Not only that, it will be a generally large group of gamers who will enjoy this for both iOS and Android platforms. As at press time, there has been no word of any kind of localization being announced for any of the ports though.

Square Enix, once a powerhouse of a gaming publisher, has been going through a rough patch at the moment, where most of their largest releases finding it difficult to turn a profit, while the famous franchises do not seem to be the kind of tour de force that they once were. Strangely enough, their strategy of taking classic and beloved console RPGs and putting them through the conversion machine, turning those classics into mobile titles has been picking up steam, never mind that it is a hugely controversial move in western regions considering the alleged low quality as well as implementation of exploitative microtransactions. Still, if you were to reside in Japan, would you pick up this title that caters to all Dragon Quest adventures right up till VII?

Final Fantasy Agito Gameplay Trailer Revealed

Earlier this morning, we did bring you word on the Final Fantasy Agito F2P (Free To Play) title that was announced by the folks over at Square Enix. It certainly did not take too long at all for a short gameplay trailer of Final Fantasy Agito to make an appearance online, where this Android and iOS compatible title looks set to be a winner.

Square Enix did mention that Final Fantasy Agito will be free to play complete with support for microtransactions, which is a rather rare move for Square’s premium mobile game. Not only that, Square Enix claims that the graphics on Final Fantasy Agito will be superior to those found on the Type-0 on the PSP, but it remains just how close the game will resemble. In Final Fantasy Agito, you are called upon to construct your very own cipher-like primary character, where the story will pan out into a certain degree by the number of “votes”. As to whether these “votes” translate to in-game or via Facebook, that remains to be seen. Final Fantasy Agito itself will take place across a time period of two weeks, and within those weeks, the first 10 days are reserved for you to fly solo, while the remaining four days will let you play alongside other humans.
