Square Enix extends Final Fantasy XIV free trial due to server congestion

One of the most popular game franchises that Square Enix ever produced is Final Fantasy. The video game franchises in its 14th iteration and recently gamers trying to take advantage of the new game have ran into some serious problems with server uptime. That means that some of the people who purchased the game and […]

Final Fantasy XIV’s Free Trial Extended Due To Server Congestion

Final Fantasy XIVs Free Trial Extended Due To Server CongestionAs is with the case of most MMORPGs and games that require an internet connection, launch day is usually quite hectic and server issues are expected. Square Enix’s recent Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn was no exception and sales of digital copies were even halted to prevent the onslaught of new gamers that would ultimately overload the servers and create a bad experience for everyone. To that extent it seems that Square Enix has understood the plight of their gamers and has since announced that they will be extending the game’s free trial due to server congestion issues.

According to a post by Square Enix on the Final Fantasy XIV’s website, “All FINAL FANTASY XIV service accounts will receive an additional seven days of free play time. Furthermore, users who have yet to enter their registration codes will receive an additional seven-day trial should they register before 11:59 p.m. (PDT) on September 9, 2013.” So for gamers who have yet to get their hands on the game or would like a little more time with the game to see if they’d like to keep playing it, now’s your chance for an extended trial period, so what are you waiting for?

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Digital Sales Halted Due To Overwhelming Demand

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Digital Sales Halted Due To Overwhelming DemandOn the 27th of August 2013, Square Enix officially released their long-awaited MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, to the eager hands of gamers around the world. While we know that the Final Fantasy fanbase is huge, not to mention that A Realm Reborn is essentially a reboot of Square Enix’s failed attempts at a MMORPG from a few years ago, we did not expect the game to be so popular to the point where the company had to put a stop to digital sales while they sort out their server issues. Final Fantasy VII Figures Created Through 3D Printing

3D printing has made some amazing products ever since it’s been made available to the public a few years ago. 3D printing has made it possible to print the face of your unborn child, has saved the life of a baby as well as a duck. This time, 3D printing has gone to be used for something way more important than saving lives: printing Final Fantasy VII characters. New Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn Trailer Released

Fans of the Final Fantasy franchise are probably pretty chuffed to hear that the MMO, Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn, will see a release on the 27th of August, although in the meantime Square Enix has not been shy about releasing new trailers leading up to the launch of the game. Well a new trailer for the game has been released and this particular one is about 13 minutes long, so if you have time to spare, perhaps you’ll want to make some popcorn and grab a Japanese-English dictionary. In this latest trailer, if it can be called that, it basically takes us through the entire game and includes gameplay footage, character creation, and more, all the while being narrated.

Unfortunately the narration is in Japanese meaning that unless you speak the language, there’s a good chance you will be just as clueless as I am. However the trailer itself is packed full of content about the game, so even if you don’t understand what’s being said, we’re sure gamers who are looking forward to the release will be able to appreciate the content nonetheless. In any case like we said, if you have some time to spare, you’ll want to check the trailer out in the video above.

Tomb Raider Sequel Confirmed By Square Enix CEO

Tomb Raider Sequel Confirmed By Square Enix CEO

Back in 2010, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announced that they would be rebooting the Tomb Raider franchise. The game was then released in 2013 after a delay which saw its original release date pegged for 2012, and while the game managed to sell 1 million copies in 48 hours, and 3.4 million in retail alone, it was deemed to be a disappointment by Square Enix due to their incredibly high expectations (they projected 6 million) for the franchise. Well the good news is that even though it did not exactly meet Square Enix’s expectations, it looks like a sequel to the game is currently in the works.

This was confirmed by the Square Enix CEO of the Americas and Europe, Phil Rogers, who revealed that the sequel was being worked on. In a statement made on the official blog, Rogers was quoted as saying, “I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently!” No word on when the sequel will be released or what fans and gamers can expect, but assuming it took them this long to bring out the first game, we expect a release date in 2015 to be somewhat realistic.
