A-Data has announced a new line of SSDs, the SP600. Coming in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes, these 2.5-inch SSDs are equipped with MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, a JMicron JMF661 controller and promise to deliver read and write speeds of up to 360MB/s and 130MB/s, respectively. Flash memory is fast, it’s stable, but it’s not without its flaws. It has a tendency to wear out after too many write-erase cycles, for example. ASK Inc. Japan will launch a new line of SSDs from OCZ called the Vector. Coming in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB sizes, these slim 2.5-inch SSDs (7mm thick) are equipped with 25nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, an Indilinx Barefoot 3 controller and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 550MB/s and 530MB/s, respectively. Coming in two different form factors: 1.8-inch (200GB & 400GB Models) and 2.5-inch (100GB, 200GB, 400GB & 800GB Models), these SSDs are equipped with 25nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and capable of delivering read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 460MB/s, respectively. Intel has once again expanded its line of SSDs by releasing the SSD 335 Series. Coming in 240GB capacity, this 2.5-inch SSD is packed with a 20nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and promises to deliver read and write speeds of up to 500MB/s and 450MB/s, respectively.
