Gingerbread Death Star: The Empire Bites Back

This awesome gingerbread Death Star is the ultimate power in the universe. The tastiest too. In fact, it recently won a gingerbread house-building tournament at The Swedish Centre for Architecture in Stockholm, Sweden. It comes from Redditor Sillstryparn.

This is the second Death Star as you can see. The first was obviously destroyed by snowmen piloting X-wing fighters made from candy canes.

This spicy space station took 12 people to build it and it is made out of about 1,200 cookies. The creator says that it took friendship, cooperation and sense of purpose to create this special project. It was seen as a “metaphor in the challenge to all the world’s people must practice love for each other to maintain and build up our planet.” That’s a nice sentiment, but I just need to know where I can get a tall glass of milk so I can get started on this thing.

RC Inflatable R2-D2 is far lighter than the real thing

inflatable-r2d2R2-D2, the most famous astromech droid in the world of Star Wars, has more or less saved the Rebel Alliance one time too many, and is a beloved character for many. This hunk of metal is far more intelligent than the verbose C3-PO, and we are quite sure that it is made out of extremely dense metal. Well, with the $79.95 RC Inflatable R2-D2, you can be quite sure that it will live up to its reputation by coming in a lightweight and inflatable body, all without sacrificing on its maneuverability as a genuine astromech droid.

In order to inflate this variant of R2-D2, we are sad to say that it is not smart enough to do so itself, but rather, you will have to manually perform the inflation process using the included foot pump. When fully inflated, the R2-D2 would stand at an impressive 26″ in height, sporting drive units underneath which will allow him to perform zippy 360-degree spins, full forward, back, and turning. Thanks to its inflatable body, it will come with an extremely low center of gravity, letting him remain upright even when descending down the stairs. R2-D2 is also able to right himself should he tip, whenever he attempts a flip off a ramp. Sporting a 25-foot range, both he and the remote are powered by one 9-volt and a quartet of AA batteries.

Star Wars: Attack Squadrons Runs On A Free-To-Play Model

Anything that is free is definitely worth checking out, and when you add Star Wars into the free-to-play model where gaming is concerned, we could very well be looking at a winner here. The Disney-owned Star Wars franchise is set to see Star Wars: Attack Squadrons introduced to the masses, where gamers will be able to take part in 16-player PvP (player vs player) dogfights in the quietness of space, seated in the cockpits of X-Wings, Y-Wings, and A-Wings amongst the rest.

Officially, Star Wars: Attack Squadrons will feature the ability to battle online with other humans in three PVP game modes, and you can also hope to end up as the victor in a 16-pilot free-for-all. Alternatively, if you have always played the role of being a supporting wingman well, why not participate in a team dogfight? Alternatively, there is also base defense, where you will have to stop incoming enemies from decimating your base, or play the role of the aggressor by planning and launching an attack on their base. chances are this will be a game that will require you to spend more than just a pretty dime in order to progress far in the game, since it is Star Wars that we are talking about here – a cash cow that still has plenty of milk left within.

Han Solo Carbonite Door Decal is Perfect for a Hutt Kids Room

One of my favorite moments from the Star Wars movies is when Han Solo gets encased in carbonite for his trip to Jabba the Hutt. We have seen plenty of products over the years featuring the likeness of Han Solo stuck in his carbonite tomb. One of the coolest was the carbonite desk .

While it’s not as cool as the desk, you can actually own this Han Solo in carbonite door sticker. The sticker looks like its 3D with Solo’s hands really sticking out of it, but it’s flat.

The sticker is easily removable according to the product page and can be reapplied to another door once removed. It sounds like this is sort of along the lines of a Fathead wall sticker. The only downside I see is that if your doors have any indented pattern on them, this won’t work, though you could always just stick it on your wall.

The Han Solo in carbonite sticker is available on Amazon for about $100(USD). Just be on the lookout for Boushh, or Han might escape from your trophy wall.

This Entire Awesome Star Wars Poster Was Illustrated From Memory

Let’s do a little experiment. Grab a pen and a piece of paper and, without doing an internet search, draw C-3PO and R2-D2. We all know what those droids look like, but how close can you get without peeking at a pic? John Hendrix has been sketching the Star Wars universe since he was a kid; now, as a grown-up illustrator, he’s put that practice to good use for a visual love letter to the movies.

Every second in Star Wars IV arranged by how bright it is

You’re looking at every single second in Star Wars IV: A New Hope arranged according to their luminosity by Jason Salavon. It reminds me of a really cool book that I got a couple weeks ago—Star Wars: Frames. We are giving a copy of the book away, plus an original sketch by Star Wars’ artistic director Iain McCaig.

Do something different with your Christmas tree this year and build a light-up Death Star ornament. Nashville-based craftycounterpart will show you how with a step-by-step Instructables article.

You will use supplies like clear acrylic balls, LED tealights, clay, spray paint, painters tape, and of course the blood and sweat of countless clones. When you are finished, this space station will be the ultimate power in your Christmas tree universe. Just be on the lookout for those pesky X-Wing fighter ornaments.

The end result looks really super nice and it will be the focal point of your geek decorated tree. The LED light really makes it look like a working station. I would suggest a small diorama nearby that is basically space debris, for what was formally Alderaan.
