Pimp2-D2 Action Figure: Mech Daddy

If you’re going to the New York Comic Con with a kid, stay away from Booth 208. Otherwise you’ll have to explain why there’s a small batch of gold-domed R2-D2 action figures each rocking a purple hat, a cape and a cane. Because this isn’t a Count Dracula costume.

This robotic uh, solicitor is the work of Jason Chalker aka Manly Art. He also made a poster featuring his scandalous creation:

You can get the poster from Jason’s online shop (his other artworks are NSFW) for $20 (USD). As I said the action figure will only be sold at the New York Comic Con and will go for $50 each.

Art Wars: 12 Stormtrooper Helmets Get Hilarious High-Art Makeovers

In a film packed with great costume and set design (Leia’s buns! The AT-ATs! Tauntaun guts!), the Stormtroopers’ glistening white exoskeletons are among the most memorable details from Star Wars. Which is what makes Art Wars a lot of fun: As part of a show at London mega-gallery Saatchi, 19 artists were given a trooper helmet and told to go wild.

Star Wars Pinball: Darth Vader Table Looks Irresistable

The Dark Lord of the Sith is one of the more imposing villains in movies, and the folks over at Zen Studios have decided to pay tribute to this all round ass kicker thanks to a special Darth Vader tribute pinball table which is set to roll out sometime next week on the PlayStation Store both the for PS3 and PS Vita (cross buy) in the new Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force pack. You could, of course, perform a download of the tables in Zen Pinball 2, or to opt for it in the standalone Star Wars game for $9.99 a pop.

This is the time to somewhat get into Lord Vader’s “brain”, so to speak, as you get to find yourself immersed in some of the most notable moments in his life. Of course, what is the whole point of a Star Wars game if there were no creative usage of the many lines that we love to hear over and over again? In here, you get to enjoy some of Vader’s most memorable quotes and scenes from the Star Wars films, where it delivers an authentic Darth Vader experience, with the whole table being a highly stylized Darth Vader atmosphere that will boast of iconic lines from the films and Darth Vader’s Meditation pod.

Star Wars duct tape is great for everyday uses like fixing household items, making crafts like wallets, patching up damaged X-Wing fighters, AT-ATs, protocol droids, or even Death Stars. Facebook commenter Chris Bugher put it best: “It has a light side a dark side and it binds to the universe together.”

It comes from the Duck tape brand and will start hitting stores soon. The design includes Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and the classic yellow Star Wars logo and Imperial symbol. How cool is that?

Star Wars Meat Sculptures: A Long Time Ago, on a Grill Far, Far Away

Ground meat. It’s what’s for dinner. It’s not only tasty, but also highly sculptable. Is that a word? Well, it is now. Just look at that MEAT2-D2, there;s a Death Star and a TIE Fighter too. I hope it’s low in fat. Not because of any diet that I’m on, but because I want to cook this stuff and not have it shrink to like 2-inches-tall.

Jawa Sandcrawler Soap: Fortress of Cleanliness

Geeky soaps are becoming more and more detailed. I still remember being impressed by the D20 soap and the controller soaps. But now we have soaps that look like freakin’ sandcrawlers. This thing looks good enough to be a toy!

The soap weighs 2.5 oz and is made from natural and vegan-friendly ingredients. The only missing detail is an interior filled with scavenged droid parts, but I’m sure they’re working on this.

    Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster

vader-viewfinderIt does seem to me as though there are some franchises that simply cannot exhaust its revenue stream, simply because it is way too big to fail, and there is a new fan that is “born” every single minute. Star Wars is definitely one of them, and who thought that all the way back in 1977 when the movie was first released, it would have made such an impact in many cultures and the world of sci-fi movies? Well, still going strong after all this while thanks to a savvy marketing plan, ThinkGeek has come up with the $19.99 Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster which will certainly offer a blast from the past so that today’s kids will be able to enjoy what used to entertain you before for countless hours on end, before the advent of the likes of the Game Boy.

The Star Wars Darth Vader ViewMaster comes with a viewer and 3 reels, and best of all is, just in case someone starts to rib you about purchasing bootleg products, you can proudly tell them off that this is an officially licensed Star Wars merchandise. Despite arriving with just three reels, it will be good enough to convey a story from 21 different images, and to make things all the more foreboding, it comes with a Vader-themed case to stash those reels away. In addition, those reels from the past are also compatible with all View-Master viewers, so assuming you can track them down with a tracker droid, you would be able to show off to the younger generation proudly of your View-Master adventures when you were a wee lad.

Tiny Tower Gets A Star Wars Makeover With Tiny Death Star

Tiny Tower Gets A Star Wars Makeover With Tiny Death StarStar Wars is without doubt a pretty popular franchise and we have seen how some mobile games, namely Rovio’s Angry Birds have launched Star Wars based games in the past. Well now it looks like Tiny Tower will be cashing in on the Star Wars hype as well with the upcoming release of Star Wars: Tiny Death Star. The game will be developed by NimbleBit and based on what we know so far, will allow gamers to develop a new Death Star similar to how players were tasked to develop a tower in the previous version of the game. We can assume that several big names will be dropping by, at least based on the 8-bit characters in the picture above.

Not much else is known about the game, such as pricing or availability. There is a good chance the game could be free to download but players will be charged if they wish to purchase additional items that will help speed things up, much like its predecessor. The game is expected to “arrive soon” for mobile devices. Given that Tiny Tower was released on iOS and Android devices, we expect the same treatment will be given to Star Wars: Tiny Death Star as well. So, who else is looking forward to getting their hands on the game?
