Steve Wozniak just sent this fun stunt caught on video a few years ago: Watch him deliver a Mac to Emma, a girl who freaks out when she realizes her idol is at the door carrying her new computer. As Emma’s father says in the video: "This is like having your lightbulbs delivered by Thomas Edison". He’s totally right. Updated with Steve’s explanation.
Tim Cook is currently Apple’s CEO, and unlike his predecessor, the late Steve Jobs, Cook is not loud or opinionated. In fact he’s a pretty quiet guy as far as CEOs are concerned and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
However there are some out there who might feel that he’s not doing as good a job as his predecessor, and in the past we have heard rumors about how Apple’s board of directors wanted to replace Cook with someone else for the CEO position. (more…)

This is something you would probably have never heard the late Steve Jobs say, he absolutely loathed Google’s mobile operating system and once even vowed to spend all of the company’s money to destroy it. In contrast, his Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is a bit more frank when it comes to such discussions. In a recent interview with Wired, Wozniak said that he thinks an Apple Android phone is not going to be a bad idea, and the premise that he lays down for this argument might make sense to some.

China’s smartphone market is catered to by a plethora of local vendors who are even giving the global behemoths, Apple and Samsung, a run for their money. These local vendors rarely sell their phones outside the country and they’re obviously not well known particularly in the West. There is one company though that has captured Western media’s attention. Often referred to as the Apple of China, Xiaomi makes some of the most popular smartphones in China and is now looking into global expansion, which it has tasked to ex-Googler Hugo Barra. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak recently visited the company’s headquarters in the People’s Republic, and even revealed that he owns a Mi3 smartphone.
Hugo Barra posted a picture of Wozniak on stage at Xiaomi’s New Year celebration in Beijing. Barra quotes Wozniak as saying that its “very emotional” for him to be a part of Xiaomi now, he’s actually referring to the fact that he owns a Mi3. The co-founder also offered pearls of wisdom, “always make sure your products are better than what any other human being could make,” he preached. Its certainly something to boast about for Xiaomi, gaining the attention of someone highly regarded in the global tech community, and having him reveal that he uses their product.

Soon after Apple unveiled the new iPad Air and Retina iPad mini, various reports started making the rounds that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak wasn’t impressed with the new tablets. He wasn’t present at the keynote like he usually is, Woz missed the event as he was on a plane to London. In an email interview with Gina Smith, Wozniak has clarified that he “never criticized the new iPads,” and that the British media he talked to spun his words to convey a whole different meaning. Woz says that the UK press is “the worst in the world for mischaracterizing what I say.” Gina Smith is actually the author of Woz’s memoir.
Wozniak further clarifies that he meant to tell the reporters that he wasn’t planning on rushing to get the new iPad since its doesn’t fulfill his personal needs. He says that he doesn’t buy every product upgrade that Apple releases, citing the example of the retina iPad released back in 2012. He said he upgraded when it became available in 128GB storage option earlier this year. Woz did say though that he has upgraded to the new MacBook Pro, which he ordered online, the new lineup that was announced alongside the new options. His previous statement had him hoping for a 256GB iPad, but that’s obviously his personal need, it shouldn’t have been skewed in a sense to make it seem like Apple co-founder didn’t like the company’s new tablet.

Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, was interviewed by the BBC yesterday. He talked about Apple, its major rivals Samsung and Microsoft, Tim Cook and the future for Apple. He said that Tim Cook isn’t out of place as the company’s leader as Steve Jobs “chose Tim Cook to be in that role, in that position,” because Jobs had a strong feeling of what makes a company and its products great, adding that Apple has remained “nimble and innovative” over the years despite its size. It was rumored recently that the company’s board had urged Tim Cook to be more innovative, market analysts often rant about how Apple hasn’t released a truly innovative product over the last two years, even Larry Ellison is pessimistic about Apple’s future without Jobs.. Wozniak said people who criticize Apple for that need to realize that “great advances in mankind don’t happen every year.”
On Microsoft, Wozniak has the view that it has been “resting on” the markets that it build up quite a long time ago. He doesn’t think that the outgoing CEO Steve Ballmer had a significant reign like Bill Gates had. Wozniak acknowledges that Samsung is a strong competitor for Apple, particularly because of their marketing prowess and distribution channels in many markets around the world where Apple does not command much influence. He says that the fight with Samsung is worth fighting for. Steve Wozniak’s interview can be viewed on the BBC’s website.
