Earlier this week we heard rumors that Samsung is going to focus a lot more on tablets and low-end smartphones next year. Apparently the company seeks to dominate the tablet market and gain the strong footing it currently enjoys in the smartphone market. Rumors of a few new tablets expected to be launched early next year have already started circulating, these include a 12.2 inch tablet and a gigantic 13.3 inch tablet. The company might also release tablets with AMOLED displays, something which it hasn’t done since 2011.
In 2011, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 was launched. It was the company’s first and only tablet that came with a Super AMOLED display. The tablet failed to gain any significant traction in the market, and Samsung didn’t follow it up with another Super AMOLED display touting successor. At its Analyst Day event earlier today in South Korea, Samsung confirmed that it is going to focus more on tablets in 2014. Local media reports suggest that the company effectively let it slip that more AMOLED tablets are in the pipeline. This is the first we’ve heard of Samsung adopting AMOLED displays next year for its tablets, so if this is destined to happen, we’re bound to hear a lot more about it in the near future.

Samsung GALAXY S 4 official
Posted in: Today's ChiliToday the next generation of Samsung smartphone technology has been revealed in the Samsung GALAXY S 4. This device works with a lovely 5-inch display with Full HD resolution complete with Super AMOLED technology – the first combination of these two elements in the history of the world. With the GALAXY S 4 we’ve got a smartphone that’s working with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean as well as the newest iteration of the company’s own TouchWiz user interface – and the whole amalgamation works at a size that’s both lighter and thinner than the Galaxy S III, too.
This device has a total of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels across its 5-inch display, this showing a lovely 441 PPI, one of the highest pixel densities in a smartphone on the market today. Depending on the market this device is released in, it’ll be working with one of two processors. One of these processor possibilities is the Samsung Exynos “Octa” SoC clocked at 1.6GHz per core – there’ll also be a Samsung GALAXY S 4 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz.
The front-facing camera on this device is 2 megapixels strong while the back-facing camera clocks in at 13 megapixels. Both of these cameras work with a collection of features that are outlined in a set of four user experience pillars that Samsung has set up for this device. The Samsung GALAXY S 4 works with a body that’s 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm small and just 130g in weight – again, smaller than the GALAXY S III in thinness and lightness. Samsung says it’s stronger than the Galaxy S III as well. Inside you’ll find a 2,600 mAh battery and one of three different internal storage sizes: 16, 32, or 64GB of space. This device also has a microSD card slot that’s able to work with a 64GB card.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is among a rare breed of smartphones that need no introduction. It’s polarizing, memorable and single-handedly responsible for the popularization of the term “phablet.” It’s also the indisputable king of that category, having recently defended its throne against LG’s Optimus Vu. If you thought the Apple and Samsung legal tussles weren’t getting interesting enough, another filing has revealed that the father of all smartphones Galaxy has at least two Windows Phone 8 devices in the pipeline. According to the filing that’s been unearthed by The Verge, both are running on a dual-core 1.5Ghz Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset — which is currently Samsung’s chip of choice for LTE regions. The Odyssey looks set to be Samsung’s high-end Windows Phone, with a 4.65-inch high-definition Super AMOLED display and NFC ready for Microsoft’s own mobile payment plans. Meanwhile, the Marco will apparently forego the near-field delights and house a humbler 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen, for a presumably gentler price. According to the legal documents, both devices are gearing up to launch in Q4 of this year — after we’ve seen Windows Phone 8 in its entirety.
