ASUS Computex teaser claims new hardware will ‘move you’

DNP ASUS posts teaser pic ahead of Computex, claims it'll 'move you'

ASUS has a habit of teasing products and it has done it again with a photo of this spun metal… thing. Posted on the company’s G+ page as a Computex taster, the picture is accompanied by a puzzlingly vague hint that the new device will “move you.” But unless we’re about to see an automotive or fitness accessory, we won’t get too excited — after all, it could just be another disc writer.

Latest Nokia Lumia 928 teaser demonstrates OIS skills (video)

Latest Nokia Lumia 928 teaser demonstrates OIS skills

Nokia is continuing its trail of breadcrumbs to the official Lumia 928 launch, with today’s drop including this rendering of the phone in white and a video meant to show off its optical image stabilization chops. The phone pulls off some high quality video recording attached to a remote control helicopter flying through the forest, as it attempts to keep blur to a minimum. It also shows off a flash that, to our eyes, looks like the xenon bulb featured in the 808 PureView. There’s no comparison to other devices this time around, so you’ll just have to imagine what other phones could capture in similar circumstances (or, do the test yourself and send us the video — whatever works). Check out the demo after the break to see the results yourself, or hit the source link to sign up for more info.

Olympus teases new flagship PEN camera, tours it around China on May 11th

Olympus China teases a new flagship PEN camera

Last year, Olympus’ release schedule danced around the E-P3: the camera maker launched the semi-pro OM-D E-M5 and refreshed its smaller PEN bodies, but didn’t touch its original mirrorless form factor. We know the company won’t be forgetting its roots this year, as its Chinese branch has posted a teaser for a next-generation, flagship PEN camera. There are no official details beyond superlatives about “classic” textures and “unprecedented control,” but rumors suggest it will be called the E-P5 (E-P4 skipped due to superstitions) and might be joined by the mid-tier E-PL6. We won’t have long to learn the full story when Olympus is showing off its new PEN in four Chinese cities between May 11th and June 1st — in-person demos require more than just a silhouette, after all.

Acer teases May 3rd reveal of a tilt-screen laptop deemed worthy of Star Trek (video)

Acer teases a laptop with a tiltable screen deemed worthy of Star Trek video

Our eyebrows are officially raised. Acer has revealed that it’s going all-in with a promotional connection to Star Trek Into Darkness, and it’s hinting at the May 3rd unveiling of a “unique” laptop that it believes would be at home in Captain Kirk’s universe. We doubt that many people will still use Windows 8 in the 23rd century, but there may be some truth to the claims of novelty: a brief clip shows a clamshell design whose display can tilt outward like that of a desktop monitor, most likely to improve the comfort of touchscreen input without going the full convertible route of PCs like the Dell XPS 12. We’ll know soon enough whether or not Acer’s PC is the stuff of sci-fi or remains firmly grounded in reality.

Nokia teases QWERTY phone announcement on April 24th

Nokia teases QWERTY phone announcement coming Wednesday

Official teasers rarely provide much in the way of detail, but this one from Nokia at least comes with a pretty picture. It reveals the rounded design language we have come to associate with the company’s latest feature phones, but with Z and Shift keys that imply we’re looking at a physical QWERTY handset rather than a candy bar — potentially something along the lines of the Asha 205. The picture is accompanied by a blog post confirming that this’ll be a product from Nokia’s Mobile Phones team rather than the folks behind Lumia, and that the announcement will happen at 7am GMT (3am ET) this Wednesday. The time zone is suggestive of an Asian or European launch, so it may or may not be worth setting your alarm clock.

Twitter will unveil something ‘big’ on Good Morning America tomorrow

Twitter will unveil something 'big' on Good Morning America, whatever that may be

Forget music halls — Twitter thinks morning TV talk shows are where it’s at for product announcements. It used The Today Show last year to unveil a profile page redesign, and we now know it will rely on Good Morning America this Thursday to unveil something… “big.” But what does that cryptic clue mean? While logic would suggest Twitter Music given its semi-official status, we could also see TV in expanded tweets or something entirely unexpected. We’ll keep our eyes (and possibly ears) open.

Samsung’s latest Galaxy S IV teaser shows the outline of… a phone

Samsung's latest Galaxy S IV teaser the rough outline of what appears to be a phone

Pause for your latest Galaxy S IV news break ahead of the March 14th unveiling: Samsung’s Mobile US Twitter account has posted this picture showing what appears to be a smartphone (shocker!) — that matches our existing Galaxy S III 1:1 minus the earpiece and with a slightly shifted logo FWIW — shrouded in shadow. We’ll understand if you’ve been overtaken by awe and need a moment, Jeremy certainly seemed impressed.

Samsung hires ‘secret messenger’ Jeremy to guard the S IV until March 14th (video)

Samsung hires 'secret messenger' Jeremy to guard the S IV until March 14th

At least one person knows exactly what the much-hyped Galaxy S IV looks like: Samsung’s “secret messenger” Jeremy. In a video posted to Facebook, Samsung plugs its upcoming Unpacked 2013 event where we’re sure to see the new flagship, and inspires envy by letting young’un Jeremy have a quick peek. If the end of the clip is anything to go by, he’s probably had a quick hands-on with it, too. It’s only 10 days until we get a look at it ourselves, but the video does leave us wondering whether it was the S IV in that suitcase in Pulp Fiction all along. Check out the vid for yourself after the break.

ASUS MWC teaser points to ‘metallic miracle,’ alien invasion (video)

ASUS MWC teaser points to 'metallic miracle,' alien invasion video

MWC hype is in full swing, and ASUS has just released the coolest teaser we’ve seen so far. It depicts a shiny spaceship landing on the Sagrada Família in Barcelona (Spain), shot from the perspective of baffled onlookers. We’re just as perplexed, and have only got the phrases “ultimate craftsmanship” and “the metallic miracle” to dwell on. Will we see some form of chromed-out device later this month, or is ASUS planning world domination with some extraterrestrial allies? Let’s hope it’s the former, but we’ll just have to hide wait and see. Check the 30-second teaser vid below — Will Smith’s on standby.
